I suppose it depends whether you want the cookies to be crunchy or smooth! Think I will use crunchy.

JingsMahBucket · 13/05/2020 23:07

Your choice @LizzieMacQueen. You can’t go wrong either way. Now I want peanut butter cookies.

@Shoxfordian how many cookies does that recipe yield? I think I may scale it down for just one person.

Zelda93 · 13/05/2020 23:13

I've made two batches whilst lockdown !! I found that recipe and realised how easy they were to make.

What no flour? It sounds gross on paper but you're all having about it so must be good!

RapunzelsBuzzcut · 14/05/2020 04:02

I bought golden caster flour at Tesco the other day by accident (was looking for brown, but that was all they had). Clearly a sign!!

What no flour?

I think that is technically taken care of by the peanut butter which is basically ground peanuts and oil isn't it?

Shoxfordian · 14/05/2020 08:42

Yeah I think its the starch in the peanuts so you don't need flour

DH made these last week. I was sceptical, it sounded like you could end up with a peanut butter omelet, but they were okay. A bit sweet for me and no good for dunking, but they’re not inedible.

ScarlettDarling · 14/05/2020 08:55

I'm absolutely addicted to peanut butter at the minute, got to give these a go!

Shoxfordian · 14/05/2020 10:53

I may need to make some more, only 4 left Blush

I'm very tempted to sacrifice my large tub of almond butter to try these

JingsMahBucket · 14/05/2020 13:24

@Shoxfordian thanks, I’ll halve the recipe.

wowfudge · 14/05/2020 13:26

SoupDragon I was thinking the same...

Shoxfordian · 14/05/2020 13:47

No worries, think I'll have to double mine next time..!

If anyone does make these with almond butter please report back!

mynameiscalypso · 14/05/2020 14:54

I've made them with almond butter and hazelnut butter before. The consistency sometimes changes a bit because of different fat content but they absolutely still work. I tried one type of butter that wasn't great...walnut maybe?

EngagedAgain · 14/05/2020 15:41

I'm sure they are very nice, but reading this thread has got me thinking about flapjacks! I've not done much baking over the last few years, but since there have been (it seems to me) more home baking related threads since lockdown, I am feeling inspired to make something.

Egg · 21/05/2020 19:47

Just tried them. Amazing!

AbsentmindedWoman · 21/05/2020 20:44

Oh, I'm going to try making a diabetes-friendly version with Swerve instead of sugar - thank you for the idea!

Sexnotgender · 21/05/2020 20:46

Asda substituted my lovely pip and nut peanut butter for their own brand shite so I might use it to make these.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 21/05/2020 21:54

Since this thread I’ve made them last week and today . They are absolutely delicious.
So simple to make !

Whisk in blender until fluffy is the secret

Electrical · 21/05/2020 23:17

Are the peanut butter cookies amazing or just ‘lovely’? I’m going to try to make them but need to manage my expectations!
