I think they WERE on a break

When Rachel speaks to Ross the next day she says “can I be your girlfriend again?”

This suggests she wasn’t his girlfriend at the time of speaking.

So if she wasn’t his girlfriend, Ross was single and allowed to sleep with whatever consenting adult he wished.

They were on a break!

Nope. They had a telephone conversation while Ross was in the club where both confirmed they wanted to be together/not be on a break. Ross only went back on this because he heard Mark's voice. They'd already retracted the break. Ross overreacted and cheated. They were NOT on a break.

Even if they were. He jumped into another woman's pants pretty quick. Doesn't say much about him, his morals or his commitment to Rachel.

It’s always annoyed me how they were on a phone call with Ross in a noisy bar struggling to hear Rachel over the music but then he manages to pick up - and identify - Mark’s vague comment in the background.

I have to agree, even if they were on a break, he slept with someone within hours of going on a break, which indicates he doesn't really care that much about Rachel. When going on a break you should really lay out the ground rules, as a break is not the same as splitting up!

They should have stayed on a break forever though
Rachel should have moved to Paris. She should have made a go of things with Gavin and moved to Paris with him.

Bad Ross, yes. He snagged someone else far too quick after breakup
However, they WERE on a break which was instigated by Rachel. But he didn't know what was going to happen. She didnt tell Mark to F off did she when he came over with chinese. So in his mind, she moved on pretty quick having another guy in her apartment late at night.

She shagged Paolo knowing Ross liked her. AND dated Russ, Michael, Gavin, Joey AND even kissed Mark AND went on a date with him which proved that Ross had a right to worry about his/her motives even though she knew Ross loved her.

Shes a slut. Ross deserved better and should have had better boundaries and self respect. He shoud have packed her bags for her and stayed with Julie as he was happy and wanted a cat

No fucking way. Ross is possessive, a user and a sex pest. Look how he treats Julie, Bonny, Monique. He's always creeping round women trying to shag them.

Ross doesn't own Rachel because he likes her, she can date whoever she wants and that doesn't make her a slut. She was a bit nieve to think Mark only wanted to be friends, but other than that she was just living her life under the shadow of her best friends obsessive brother.

She only went out for dinner with Mark because Ross put the whole idea in her head, self fulfilling prophecy! She had no feelings for him, as she kept on telling him!! Therefore he was a friend coming round with the Chinese. He of course shouldn't have slept with someone.

To be fair it's pretty weird how Richard wants to date someone he once held when she was a baby.

Agree they were on a break BUT that doesn't make what Ross did right. There is more to loyalty and relationships than the strict definition.
