I cannot stand it when people say spuds instead of potatoes. No idea why, I just hate it!
Will the spuds be ready soon?
Just pick some spuds up while you're at the shop.
The spuds need peeling.
Etc etc 🤮 Awful!

Not one word but two, going forward. Just makes me angry for some reason. And reaching out!

EmpressLangClegInChair · 10/05/2020 20:14

Girl or Girly when used to address grown women, or in the context of "girly film", "girls night out".

Oh fuck yes. Girl doesn’t work for anyone past her teens.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 10/05/2020 20:15

Yummy. I'm not 5yrs old.
SanPro. Sounds like a celebrity marriage.

EmbarrassedUser · 10/05/2020 20:17

My ex used today Tommy K for tomato sauce. Note he’s an ex 🤦‍♀️😡😡

ProseccoSupernova · 10/05/2020 20:18

Hubby.
And tissue when pronounced ‘tis-hue’

HolaWeenie · 10/05/2020 20:18

Awning, no idea why, I just hate the word awning. And bog for toilet.

rosegoldwatcher · 10/05/2020 20:24

"The X-factor" especially when used by home seekers in Kirsty and Phil type TV programmes.

Have a bit of ambition in your vocabulary please.

simonisnotme · 10/05/2020 20:27

Maggie90 · 10/05/2020 20:28

Anything ending in ‘elly’.

Also, Epsom salts and essential oils.

ladykuga · 10/05/2020 20:34

Pamphlet! Even the spelling of it offends me.. I'm now angry that the word popped into my head because of this thread. Hmm

Pickles89 · 10/05/2020 20:37

Crunch. I don't mind it for cereal, but I HATE the word when applied to sit-ups. Shudder

lildevil · 10/05/2020 20:38

I hate the word awesome and the phrase shabby chic

panicstationsready · 10/05/2020 20:40

Kids. Goats have kids, humans have children.

YouHurtMeSoMuch · 10/05/2020 20:56

Tit/s. I'm not fond of a tit.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 10/05/2020 21:00

I think people's idea of offensive varies enormously.

But I find the word "shit" way more offensive than "cunt" for example.

When people say "shit loads" or "it's all gone to shit" or "he was acting like a total shit" - I find that hugely offensive.

Maggie90 · 10/05/2020 21:01

I have another one, the term ‘my boy’. Me and my boy are going out for lunch. So proud of my boy. Just say son!

I can tolerate ‘my little boy’ if under 6.

mooching · 10/05/2020 21:05

Blouse

Finger buffet

Crimbo, although last year I heard someone in the radio saying how awful Chrimbo was and should only be used in conjunction with the word limbo as in the chrimbo limbo - the time when between Christmas and new year when we've all eaten too much cheese and can't get off the sofa, this made me smile!

selfisolatingsince2007 · 10/05/2020 21:05

@RingaRosie - I gather bae stands for Before All Others.

” Awesomesauce” - what fresh hell is this, @Ricekrispie22?

Fleamaker123 · 10/05/2020 21:14

Fart

It's banned in our house. I can't even type it without wincing. Boring old fart. Hate it.

Knobblybobbly · 10/05/2020 21:15

Indeed.

I cannot bear this word.

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 10/05/2020 21:24
