What’s Happening In Your House?

Glorious weather here. Unfortunately we don’t have a paddling pool so we’re trying to chill out in other ways. Excited to be collecting fish & chips later, pre - ordered at a local shop that has just reopened but only taking phone orders. I am exceptionally hairy but saying “ Sod it” & letting it all show in my fav black t shirt dress! The house is filthy so I am thinking very hard about hoovering, cleaning paint out of the bath ( don’t ask!) & damp dusting. Feeling a bit regretful that we didn’t do anything for VE Day as keep seeing FB posts of socially distanced street parties. But we don’t know our neighbours in the Close & are only on saying hello terms with our immediate neighbours. I did go out to sing “ We’ll Meet Again” last night.

I've just mopped the living room floor & scrubbed the bits where I dripped paint while I was decorating . I cut open the bottom of the sofa too - found three knives, a ruler, 5p & a fuck tonne of beads...suspect there's more in there but I can't replace it yet so trying not to make it too much of a mess.

Dd1 is snapchatting her friend & dd2 Minecrafting.

I'm going to make bread shortly to mop up the creamy sauce from tea.

Weather's too sunny to sit out in, we don't have any shade this time of day. The cats are whining for their afternoon feed. The neighbours have finally stopped their shouted three hour conversation over the fences, talking about how careful they were at the VE day pissup yesterday (they were not, there was a fucking conga. And yes, they're all devout Thursday 8pm pot bangers, of course)

DP and I are doing FA today apart from rolling our eyes at the loud chat earlier. Both in dressing gowns still. Bit of reading, bit of listening to podcasts, bit of internet shite like here.

The little ones are playing in the garden. I've collected my shopping.
Caesar Salad and garlic bread for dinner.

Scorching here! DCs and DH are in the Pool splashing around and having fun, I'm 38 Weeks Pregnant so on the sofa with DDog having 10 mins peace before checking on our giant cake we baked that's cooling in the Kitchen!

Well it's nearly 1 am here (Aus) and dh and I have binge watched Normal People - which is fucking brilliant - and I've just finished my 1 lite bottle not gin (not all in one go!).

I'm now sufficiently tipsy enough to head to bed in preparation for Mother's Day tomorrow

I'm on MN waiting for the shopping to arrive

DS1 is laid on his bed playing PS4 ( as usual)

DS2 is watching the simpsons

DH is polishing his motorbike on the front drive.
DDs are painting under the gazebo in the garden.
I'm reading a book on the swing seat in the garden.

BBQ will be lit shortly.

Dd1 & I have just built our new bbq - never used anything other than disposable before. Neverous/Excited.
Dd2 has got square eyes from so much telly so is doing a paddington puzzle. She asked me to go outside and do gymnastics with her just as I got a cold drink & sat down so that's my next job.
We are super chilled

(before I get accused of ruining gardens for neighbours with my smelly BBQ... The nearest house is 25m from the BBQ on one side, and about 100m on the other sides as our house is at the end of the row surrounded by open space)

I’m making cake and potting some plants (well lettuce). DS is scoffing some leftover pizza and DH has gone for a run.

I may wander off and make a cup of tea...

Adult daughters have been sunbathing.
I have been sunbathing, picking weeds, sweeping the patio and washing down the garden table and chairs, getting in the washing and throwing a ball for the dogs.
Husband has washed his car inside and out and now parked it below the tree and the birds will soon poop all over it again.

I've been in the garden since 9am. Pottered about with my cat and had a quick shower and looked at myself horrified at how badly I need to colour my hair (grey overload). Back in the garden. Moved some plant pots around. Moved the same plant pots around again and then again. Now sat with a gin bubblegum cocktail relaxing and thinking what to order from the take away. Pizza or pizza

The lovely weather disappeared earlier in the afternoon here.

DH is playing Zelda on Nintendo/ on the tv screen. DC2 is commentating/ asking inane questions. DC1 is doing school work that she refused to do in the week even after I threatened she would have to do it at the weekend. DCats are arguing with each other over who gets to sit on DH. I am flitting between cleaning up in the kitchen, helping DC1 and MNing.

DH is fixing the door blind which fell off after a strong gust of wind slammed the door shut.

I'm ironing

Kids are playing on bikes but essentially a bit bored as I won't let them stick youtube minecraft videos on and draw the living room curtains.

Kids are in the garden and I’m inside making a batch of cookies. On MN whilst waiting for the dough to chill in the fridge, mandatory so the recipe says.

DP is napping, DS is watching Thomas the tank engine and I’m sat with him reading a book and drinking a brew.
We’ve been in the garden most of the day, replaced the outside tap, cut the lawn, chatted with next door about their home improvements. All in all quite a nice day at home.
Contemplating getting up and making tea soon, mac and cheese with peas tonight.

We've had a chilled day today, put the washing out early and did more today to make the most of the weather. Need to do the weekly clean and also got a pile of ironing that needs doing but didn't fancy doing it in the heat today.
Will be having salad to eat later.
Trying to stay at the back of the house away from the children playing out front. (Every time it's nice they are out literally all day screaming and playing and having water fights). No social distancing either and they're from different houses, and more than old enough to understand they should be. Parents just let them carry on as well.

I've done very very little aside from sit in the garden, play with DD and read a book. Its been exactly what I needed to do.

I feel very refreshed.

I’m slobbing on the sofa with MN and a glass of Lilt. DP Is doing the ironing watching CSI Las Vegas. DD is ‘sunbathing’ in the garden reading a book. I have bolognaise sauce simmering in the slow cooker and it’s wafting through the house. MIL is sewing curtains in the kitchen listening to Rylan on Radio 2 (she thinks he’s hilarious). I haven’t done our floors yet or the bathroom, need to move soon as we want to have an early tea tonight and a late walk afterwards before the weather turns tomorrow.

Sitting in the shade, cheeky glass of Prosecco and finished my book. Browsing handbags & Mumsnet now.

I have all sorts of chores to do but I’m not feeling it today so I’m ignoring them.

We're watching By Jeeves and I'm making a cardigan (just having a quick MN break) .
No idea what's for dinner. I'm hoping the teens will be happy with leftover cheese and crackers from yesterday.

Cut the grass and went for shopping this morning. I came out to eat my lunch in the garden and never went back inside. The kids and DH have joined me now though, so peace disturbed!

Lovely weather here in Yorkshire so we're sitting in the living room watching dh play some farming simulator game on the PS4...

DH is reading in the garden. I’m in the bath reading/Mumsnetting.
The DC are playing, going between house and garden, the younger two have a big cardboard box which has been many things over the last few days.
