However, he's dramatically reduced the cost of access to space, and just about single handedly kickstarted the electric vehicle and scaled-battery industries (which is crucial to reducing the CO2 emissions of transport). He's also seriously disrupting other industries: tunnelling, neuroscience.

I would argue that he's more "proper news" than a lot of the political bollocks we have in the press - in the same way that Isembard Kingdom Brunel had a lot more impact on the path of the world than did Viscount Melbourne, who was PM at about the same time.

They're also aparently not telling anyone whether they's a boy or a girl because that's they's own private information and they don't want to assume they's gender.
