Oh no I didn’t know she was Ill. So sad she was a brilliant actress.

LaureBerthaud · 29/04/2020 14:57

Her son has written "Today was a thankful release. The family is all well, and relieved that she’s not suffering any more. She was a wonderful human and a spirit of truth and absolute, unconditional love. There was no other. I am happy she’s moved on. Please raise a glass. Be kind and love deeply!”

AmelieTaylor · 29/04/2020 14:57

It's always sad to lose great talent 🌷such a shame she's been ill for a decade too.

She was definitely a string female lead in her day, when they were very thin on the ground!

RIP 💐

SuperficialSuzie · 29/04/2020 14:58

LetterOfTheLawFella · 29/04/2020 15:01

She was so striking, beautiful. Very sad.

DartmoorChef · 29/04/2020 15:01

I remember watching the Gentle Touch as a young teen and thinking how beautiful she was. Didn't realise she was that age now. I thought she was much younger. RIP.

HeIenaDove · 29/04/2020 15:05

Dartmoor she would have been in her early forties when she did Gentle Touch. She looked nowhere near it Talking Pictures TV reran it a while ago.

And so does that tweet.

Topseyt · 29/04/2020 15:14

How very sad. I remember her in The Gentle Touch. I would have been in my late teens (I think) when it was on TV.

HerBigChance · 29/04/2020 15:18

Wonderful message from her son. I love the Gentle Touch too.

pointythings · 29/04/2020 15:20

I remember her in The Gentle Touch, I must have been early to mid teens. We used to watch it as a family.

Alzheimers is awful, I am glad her family are at peace with her passing.

TheClootieDumplin · 29/04/2020 15:21

I was just thinking of her a few days ago.

My mum knew her well many years ago and it was one of those days when thinking of one person leads you to thinking of someone else.

What beautiful words from her son.

RIP Jill.

HawthornLantern · 29/04/2020 15:21

RIP Jill. I had no idea about the Alzheimers. Very, very sad.

I remember The Gentle Touch from childhood too - she went undercover at one point and was described as "a pocket Venus" - the description always stuck with me and was completely true.

DaydreamingDay · 29/04/2020 15:22

I too remember Jill in The Gentle Touch. She was a wonderful actress and very beautiful.

waterandlemonjuice · 29/04/2020 15:26

Alfred Molina is only 66, she was 83. I liked her too but didn’t know they were married, just looked it up.

MiddlewoodWay · 29/04/2020 15:28

Loved her as an actress and she was stunning too. They seemed such a devoted couple, these few years must have been so difficult for them.

incognitomum · 29/04/2020 15:29

Aw I loved her.

Womenwotlunch · 29/04/2020 15:31

Graphista · 29/04/2020 15:44

Just seen this news, have such fond memories of watching her in The gentle touch and C.A.T.S. Eyes

So rare to have a female centred drama at that time.

"Maggie Forbes walked so Jill Tennyson could run"

Love that, so true.

She seemed a genuinely lovely lady

RIP Jill
