What do I want for my 40th Birthday?

My birthday is soon. I have no idea what I want, any suggestions?

Then I’d go for a ring! Or maybe a bangle. Although a watch is a great shout too.

Jewellery. A special piece or a watch. I had my eye on a bag but ended up choosing a beautiful diamond piece of jewellery. So pleased I did now as the bag would be dated but the jewellery is still fabulous.

I’m hoping for a diamond solitaire necklace. My dh got me diamond earrings for my 30th and I’ve worn them pretty much every day since so I’m hoping the necklace will be as well worn!

Also having a holiday with my friends.

Dh received some very nice (bloody expensive) wine for his 40th and although it’s not something you can keep we chose some good occasions to enjoy it and it was really special and memorable.

My birthday is June , is like a Monica vivander bracelet or necklace , a new handbag from Matt and nat, a make-up brush cleaner 😂 ,pj s and slippers (I have 2new pairs every Xmas and birthday I love pjs) some new gin glasses (kids have broke a couple unloading the dishwasher 😠)and nice gin and my husband will get me a few surprises too .. I got.some spectrum make-up brushes as a suprise last year they are lovely X

Household appliance for me, not exciting but needed and costing double what I've spent on them before. Bf and kids (1 of 3 his) have wee surprises for me... guess I'll find out in the morning! Got some money which will no doubt go on clothes a silver bangle and a Lego set!

Oops, missed a comma. Clothes, a silver bangle. Must be giddy as it's almost my birthday, hopefully not old age setting in!

It was recently my 40th and my best present was a surprise Zoom party organised by DH. I was really touched.

I know stuff is nice, I like stuff, but thoughtful surprises really are the best. Having a second 40th in 6 months and will be expecting serious stuff!

I've hinted at silk PJ's. I think that settling down each night in silky luxury sounds divine. Also Ive lost every piece of jewelry I've ever had so that's a non starter for me.

I don't know what to get for mine this year either. I did want a party but not sure if I should plan anything yet. (Autumn).

I like the idea of a nice piece of art or something stone for the garden to keep.

Oh yes a few pairs of silk pyjamas! And a silk dressing gown. And some blingy mules to wear with them. ❤️

It was my 40th last year, I was hoping for a trip to New York or an eternity ring. Sadly dh was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal bowel cancer a couple of months before 💔

so we spent the morning relaxing with breakfast in bed made by the kids (teenagers), during the afternoon me, dm & 2 dd's went to the cinema. Came home and had a lovely bbq with some champagne 🍾 it was a perfect day. No big presents, but lovely memories.

Dh will (🙏 turn 40 in September, although has 6-12 months life expectancy) I have no idea what to get for him, we can't really plan much due to his cancer but Coronavirus is making it even more difficult. Do I go for sentimental photo book type gifts and hope we might be able to get a short holiday to make some more memories? What did you get for your DH's 40th ?

Sorry to derail the thread, hopefully not turned it to depressing, but I'm really stuck!

If we are in lockdown at the end of june (pretty.likely I'm shield ed too) then I'm planning breakfast in bed of vegan smoked salmon lovely french bread(gluten free) vegan cream cheese cucumber and lemons to squeeze on with my lovely family .. The hopefully we will sit in the garden for the day with tapas bits and pims or not too boozy cocktails , if it's really nice then we will get the paddling pool out play games etc then , my husband and I will but the children to bed sit outside with the fire pit and candles and have something delious sent to us from our local Italian restaurant .. I've also ordered coffee and walnut cupcakes from our vegan cake lady .. I'm hoping it be a lovely day .. Lockdown birthdays don't have to be shifty ... Last year we were at a festival and we hired 2 temporary nannys (3 children 10/8&3 at the time was well worth it ) for it so we could enjoy it and relax it was fantastic x

I got a beautiful longine watch. I’d wanted one for years and I absolutely love it. Also a chloe handbag. I was a lucky lady.

I will be 40 this summer and DS 18, we had a huge party planned with people coming from all over the world, literally. We've not yet cancelled officially, but I can't imagine it happening.

I hadn't thought about a present as the party was going to cost a fair amount.

Back to the drawing board!

I have never ever said what I Wan't for any birthday. I am an oldie now, but do remember, that when I was 40 about 30 years ago, family gave me a bit of money to spend on my love of garden plants. I was landscaping a large garden at my home at the time, so that was the best of a gift for me.
