Nitpicking, constant goading, causing arguments over nothing ...

That's Mumsnet at the moment.

So many snitty comments, bolshy goady replies, pile ons, thread derailings the list goes on.

Is the lockdown turning lots of nice people into arseholes or is that just the way Mumsnet is these days?

I do think there has been a huge increase in the number of goady, trolly post and run threads. People’s patience is wearing a bit thin with it all.

People’s patience is wearing a bit thin with it all. Agreed @Sparklingbrook. The situation at present seems to be bringing out the best and the worst in people.

If you post a goady /trolly thread and run away then you are going to get arsey replies TBF.
I just hide threads as I go.

I read the title and assumed you were describing your children, haha. And came on for solidarity as that is what I am dealing with today.

Yeah people do seem particularly cranky on MN just now, I am also finding it just quite boring. A lot less funny threads Sad

DollysDrawers · 28/04/2020 12:07

@Merename well it absolutely could descrive my children too! And DH come to think of it ... Grin

I don't think it has. I think it's been like this for a good while. I blame part of it on poor moderating on threads and some of that is down to wanting publicity and wanting the thread to make it into the media so MN gets talked about.

Also anyone wanting to derail a thread just has to come on and start labelling posts as racist disablist etc and MN gets its knickers in a twist without really assessing it properly. Can be a bit reactionary.

I actually snorted out loud laughing at this thread. I didn’t wake the baby/cat or spit tea over the keyboard or wet myself but close. It was like MN in the olden days.

Actually, you have a point. The thing I notice a lot of now is the snidey attempts to really belittle a poster, particularly if they have posted something fairly innocuous. It's odd.

That thread is golden @Sparklingbrook
