Ridiculously excited that I’m getting to leave the house!

Where we are restrictions have been lifted so that you can go out for non essential travel as long as social distancing maintained.

I have an appointment to look a5 an electric bicycle. In a socially distancing shop. I am beyond excited. It’s made me realize that while I’ve basically been ok through this, the excitement at being out is like a lift to the soul.

I’ve been out for dog walking, shopping (I hate the shopping, queuing, not being able to find my in laws favourites), and exercise since this started. This feels like a tiny bit of normal.

I am so looking forward to being able to travel non-essentially.
I feel quite envious.
Enjoy your outing.

fanniboz · 28/04/2020 09:44

Where are you OP? Enjoy your time outside you lucky sod Grin

Bubblesbubblesmybubbles · 28/04/2020 09:46

Perfidy I hope you have a great day and enjoy it!

Its so nice to hear of this happening albeit elsewhere, gives me a huge mental boost

DH had to go in the office yesterday to pick up some computer equipment so he could continue working from home. Office is next county so an hours round trip.
He'd barely finished the sentence 'Do you want to come with me for a run' and I was in the car, seatbelt on and face stuck to the window like an excited dog off to the park...

I needed it I have to say.

Itstheprinciple · 28/04/2020 11:52

I was doing some deliveries for work last week and asked DD if she wanted to come. She got all excited and shouted 'I haven't been in a car in 4 weeks!' She's 13 so you don't often see that level of excitement (unless it's connected to tiktok).

copycopypaste · 28/04/2020 11:54

Once every two weeks I drop my dc off at my ex's house. It's half an hour away and I look forward to the drive every time (plus I get a weekend kid free Grin)

AdobeWanKenobi · 28/04/2020 11:58

On the way back there was a train at the level crossing. Thrilled I was that 1, it held us up a bit and 2, a train!

Bluecushioned · 28/04/2020 12:36

We've been out twice to the DRs for 6 week check and 8 weeks jabs. Got the 12 week one coming up next week and too excited to see other humans, play music in the car and plan what to wear. Counting down the days to our ouying. Tragic! Baby is nonplussed by injections so double win.

MrsT1405 · 28/04/2020 12:42

It was my turn for the shopping today and it was so exciting! I'm in Spain and we cant go out for walks yet....maybe after 4th may. It's been 3 times since 13th March.

Northernsoullover · 28/04/2020 12:46

@Itstheprinciple I asked my 14 and 16 year old if they wanted to come and get the click and collect.... you would have thought I'd offered them a trip to Alton Towers. So we all went!

Perfidy · 28/04/2020 12:51

It's the smallest thing isn't it! I put make up.on and brushed my hair.

DH builds Aldis. He had to go and certify something to get a new shop signed off before building control would let them open it last week. The shop is 1.5 hours drive away. I was very envious.Envy

Magpiefeather · 28/04/2020 12:52

I went in the car the other day (essential trip for medication) with DH driving and it was the most exciting thing ever. Like being on a rollercoaster. I haven’t been in the car in 5 weeks and it was incredible. Felt like we were moving so fast! I drove home to check I could still remember how to drive!!

BikeRunSki · 28/04/2020 12:53

I am giving blood in 3 weeks time. Can’t wait!

Thighmageddon · 28/04/2020 12:54

Makeup? Brushing hair?

What are these things you speak of?

Minesril · 28/04/2020 13:19

My baby has his eight week jabs/six week check combined appointment in three weeks. Can't wait!

I live right by a railway line that goes from Cambridge to London. Very frequent! I love that they're still rumbling by. I can see inside the carriages from my bedroom window and occasionally there's a passenger!!

MitziK · 28/04/2020 13:29

OHHHH! A ROAD TRIP!

For Medical Shite, I've only left the house once since 25th March. And spoken to DP, the DTwatCats and exactly 3 delivery drivers.

I'm more excited by the birds in the garden than the sodding DTwatCat is. God only knows how I'd react to a Squirrel.

AuntieMarys · 28/04/2020 13:35

I've just blow dried my hair and made it very swishy. And I am off to the supermarket for my weekly shop. So bloody excited. Especially as we are having eggs, beans and chips tonight.

TreacherousPissFlap · 28/04/2020 13:46

Teen DS came to Waitrose with me yesterday. He's not actually allowed in the shop so sat in the car, but he was up, showered and sat in the car by 9am Grin

lifestooshort123 · 28/04/2020 14:29

I drove to the woodland burial site yesterday where parents' and sister's ashes are beneath a tree. It was a 20min drive to Epping Forest and I was so excited about going I could hardly sleep! I put on proper trousers and a bra and some lippy - couldn't let my mum think I'd turned into a slob - and drove very very slowly to savour the trip. Wow. It was great.

Perfidy · 28/04/2020 14:45

I wore shoes too! Not slippers or dog walking trainers. It took me a while to find them mind.

My only outings have been the daily dog walk or the weekly shopping trip, so I was mightily excited when we went to a garden centre to pick up an order so I could continue with my veg beds. It was glorious driving through the countryside, it was a nice day not the rain we have today, and the road was quiet, which was almost a shame as it meant the journey was under half an hour. But it was bliss Smile

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 28/04/2020 20:47

I had to go out the other week and I planned my outfit for days. The of course changed my mind and put something else on, but equally hadn't worn for yonks. Yanbu I get the excitement

Kermitsbiggestfan · 28/04/2020 21:14

I went out in the car the other day to get the shopping. Not been in the car since March 20th. Car was very groany. Thought I was going to get a nose bleed moving at speed!

poppy2021 · 28/04/2020 21:31

I picked up a click and collect order from Asda or Saturday. Make up on and perfume, jeans and a nice top the lot. It's the little things Smile
