Why are you awake?

Couldn't see one of these so thought I'd start one - nice to know you're not the only one up when most people are fast asleep

I'm a terrible sleeper and it's been made worse with lockdown and no real routine, my natural body clock would be 3/4am to 10/11am if I had a choice but I'm currently sitting up late and then getting up early with the kids, then paying for it all day!

So why are you up?

Youngest up, unsettled. Cuddles and settled her a little.DH then I settles her. Men are morons.

Sorry to those who can’t sleep 💐

Fuzzywuzzyface · 28/04/2020 02:51

My partner has just been taken away in an ambulance. He woke me about 1.20 thrashing about, I thought he was having a fit. Eyes open, but not responsive just groaning. Paramedics were brilliant.. by the time the ambulance left he was talking coherently but in a lot of pain. They were talking about a AAA... I wish I hadn't googled it. Need to call hospital for update in about 1/2 hour.

LadyB49 · 28/04/2020 02:53

Insomnia and rls.. May get a couple of hours around 6am. Every bloody night!!

TheDogsMother · 28/04/2020 02:54

Fuzzy that is very scary. Wishing your partner well Thanks

warriorsmain · 28/04/2020 02:55

The lack of a normal routine has put my sleep right out.

ohisay · 28/04/2020 02:58

I'm awake after checking my little boys blood sugar. He's newly diagnosed diabetic so I get up and do it, then my mind starts whirring with questions etc so I can't get back to sleep.
Trouble is, I've always been the same if I've woken in the night, my mind goes into overdrive. Until now it wouldn't be every night.
I'm thinking I'm going to need to find a way to get back to sleep as I won't survive on the 4
or so hours I'm getting for very long, I need my sleep!

zaffa · 28/04/2020 03:04

Night feed! My almost five month old had gone from sleeping through to five am to waking up at 2 - so I'm awake feeding and wondering if that afternoon walk really does make her sleep longer...

RLGGG · 28/04/2020 03:05

26 weeks pregnant, very thirsty, need the toilet. Third night in a row of this kind of wake up time 😔 hoping for full nights sleep tomorrow! Best wishes to you all!

zaffa · 28/04/2020 03:09

@TheDogsMother ThanksI'm sorry for your loss x

NaomiFromMilkShake · 28/04/2020 03:12

Oh and I have managed to score a Tesco slot for the 18th of May, but Sainsburys is down.

I love my boys but sometimes I think they just think the slots just drop into my lap.

averytiredmom · 28/04/2020 03:15

My 8 month old has started waking up in the night again

Goostacean · 28/04/2020 03:17

4 month old woke just before 3 for a feed. I’m pleased because that means he did a 7h stretch from bedtime, which is a big improvement.

thaegumathteth · 28/04/2020 03:20

@Fuzzywuzzyface I hope your dh is ok

SquirtleSquad · 28/04/2020 03:21

10 month old teething / hates sleep

MrsAvocet · 28/04/2020 03:29

Recovering from a recent operation and in some pain, plus the scar is intensely itchy and keeping me awake.

BasilDiffuser · 28/04/2020 03:37

3 year old DD claimed there was a giant hand in her room. Now can’t turn my brain off.

Peridot1 · 28/04/2020 03:38

Fuzzy that sounds really scary. Hope you get some good news.

I’m awake because my phone decided to keep randomly vibrating even though it was in Do Not Disturb mode. As if there were loads of messages or notifications coming in but there weren’t. A reminder I shouldn’t have it in the bedroom really.

TreacherousPissFlap · 28/04/2020 03:42

Lunch break of a night shift. Cannot walk outside as pissing with rain so titting about on MN instead Hmm

beebeedandelion · 28/04/2020 03:46

Just because Confused I woke up thinking it must be morning but it was 00:15. Not been back to sleep yet. fuzzy I hope your DH is ok.

Lilolily · 28/04/2020 03:49

Because every time I close my eyes I get flashes of the relationship that just ended, either good memories or thoughts of How he cheated, and tears escape.

LittlePickleHead · 28/04/2020 03:50

I'm in a&e. Sliced my finger 7 hours ago and woke up twice with the pain, it's still bleeding. Called 111 (got through straight away which was a surprise) and now following their advice. Not exactly where I was hoping to go on my first excursion In 6 weeks!

AvalancheKit · 28/04/2020 03:58

Woke up by a monster A400M flying low. Went on Freedar and it’s a military plane doing a short hop from East Mids civilian airport to Brize Norton.

Trumpton · 28/04/2020 04:02

Generally a bad sleeper but happy enough to read and drift off .
Dreadful upsetting nightmares tonight , I don’t want to go back to sleep.
Also had mastectomy with skin expander put in 6 weeks ago and it’s got very uncomfortable .
Must ring breast clinic in the morning .
I might get up to make a drink but feel very shaken by dream and don’t want to go downstairs , ( wimp)

@Fuzzywuzzyface I hope it’s good news for you .
@LittlePickleHead A&E is so weird at the moment . Hope you get seen soon .
To everyone else I hope sleep comes to you .

Notpanickingjustyet · 28/04/2020 04:04

Insomnia. I normally get up about 2ish. My sleep has got worse when all this started, but since having the virus, I've slept lots better.

Notpanickingjustyet · 28/04/2020 04:06

@Fuzzywuzzyface I hope your partner makes a speedy recovery and can come home soon.
