Recommend a good-quality lovely smelling soap bar?

I want some lovely luxury soap bars - not the supermarket types. I can remember a few people recommended a brand on here: something maybe beginning with O? But maybe not.

Anyway - looking for recommendations please!

TK Maxx is where I get nice bars of soap. Lots of choice, lovely quality and inexpensive.

dementedma · 23/04/2020 20:03

Sorry, but I really like Dove.

For the O brand do you mean L’Occitane?

idontsmokeivape · 23/04/2020 20:04

Could it be L'Occitane?

Nesti Dante

The fig and almond one is divine. They last ages as well

anappleadaykeeps · 23/04/2020 20:05

Nesti Dante (from Italy) - you can even get it in the lockdown on Amazon

NannyR · 23/04/2020 20:06

I love the nesti dante soaps - the villages and monasteries scent is my favourite, I also love the fig and almond milk one and the coconut and frangipani one. They are about £4-£5 a bar but they are huge and last ages.

SayNotoArtificialLipids · 23/04/2020 20:06

Nesti Dante, love the cherry one.

Grandadwasthatyou · 23/04/2020 20:06

Nesti Dante are a lovely Italian range which I treat myself to in TK Max.

CMOTDibbler · 23/04/2020 20:06

Small batch, cold process soap is the way to go. The Beanie Boat ones are lovely and you are supporting a one woman business

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/04/2020 20:08

L'Occitane Verbena Shea Butter soap is lovely. Huge bar and lasts for ages.

Neveranynamesleft · 23/04/2020 20:08

I know it's available in the supermarket but Pears soap is lovely. The smell of Camay takes me back to my childhood.

I love soaps . Got this one from Sainsbury's not expecting much but it's lovely. Nice fragrance & amazing lather. Only a couple of quid

L’occitane was the one! Thank you! Like the sound of the Nesti Dante ones too - and the Beanie Boat. Hmm I might treat myself to one of each!

@Neveranynamesleft I was such a fan of Pears soap growing up. But then I heard they sold the company and since then they have changed the formula. The last time I bought it (years ago) it was a real disappointment - different texture and smell. Maybe I will try again.

LittleMachine · 23/04/2020 20:24

I don't even use scented soap, but I've just ordered one of those Neste Dante soaps from Amazon, they sound amazing.

nancyjuice7 · 23/04/2020 20:28

Pears clear! Can't beat it

ZsaZsaMc · 23/04/2020 20:30

I love lush for soap - sadly closed at the moment though

Gilead · 23/04/2020 20:31

Nesti Dante, beautiful soap.

JengaNonConfirming · 23/04/2020 20:40

@LittleMachine, so have I! I went for the coconut and frangipani, the description sounded wonderful Smile

onalongsabbatical · 23/04/2020 20:53

Ok I've just bought a Nesti Dante too... hard to resist with so many glowing recommendations, and they sound - and look - beautiful. Smile

Feawen · 23/04/2020 20:54

Funky Soaps are very moisturising and feel luxurious to use, but the scents are quite aromatic/herbal rather than sweet or floral - lovely if that’s what you like.

Neste Dante have some gorgeous scents, but I don’t find them as moisturising.

Pure Nuff Stuff (bad name, but they sell good soap!) are nice - not a huge range of scents but I like everything I’ve tried, and not drying.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 23/04/2020 21:11

Stick your wrapped unused soaps in your knicker drawers for a waft of fragrance when you open them. That’s where I store mine!

Likethebattle · 23/04/2020 21:19

The highland soap company do beautiful soap. The Scottish Heather smells really rich and like a luxury brand.

louloubelx · 23/04/2020 21:28

Try chateaudusavon.com/ for French soaps. They’ve got all sorts of fragrances and exfoliating ones too! Or if you like pretty soaps try caresoapmimi.co.uk/?SID=797ecf65d33f56564c8be84aa4728056
