What are the best things you’ve ever bought?

I’ve been enjoying reading about things people have been treating themselves to and need a bit of an imaginary shopping trip.
What are the top one/two/three things (apart from your house) that you’ve ever bought? The things that spring to mind for me are:

  1. Philips Lumea. I’ve had salon laser treatment years ago and even further back electrolysis, spent hours bleaching, waxing, sugaring and this is a revolution. No hair under arms, moustache gone, bikini line hairless and arms so much better. Best money spent.
  1. iPad. Had a few over the years and just love it.

I can think of other things I love but these are the ones that I think how did I live without that before?

What are your top buys ever?

Laser eye surgery - changed my life
after years of short sightedness
My car - strangers chat to me in car parks because of it (or try to race me at traffic lights - I don’t).

I didn’t buy her, she was bought for me but she went on to have a litter and now we have 4 cats, all from her Smile
They make life even lovelier!

My Toms, the classic design. My first pair lasted 5-6 years of frequent wear, which I thought was pretty good considering the style of shoe. They're actually still wearable now, just looking a bit worn and losing their shape which is why I went for a second pair. Mainly though they're just so comfortable, I could live in them over the summer.

Currently, my Bose Frames - sunglasses with a bluetooth music player. Much nicer to run in than headphones/airbuds. I do look a bit weird when it isn't sunny but I don't care (I hope they'll do a clear glass version at some point).

BossAssBitch · 19/04/2020 17:58

My two beautiful doggos 🐶♥️

Fairytale style four poster super king size bed. It took three months to make but is a one off and beautiful, the sort of bed Snow White would sleep in! Perfect size for DH, doggos and me

My car - an extravagance (on lease) but I love it. It even has a heated steering wheel which is perfect for cold winter mornings.
My house - tiny but in a beautiful location
Cordless vacuum cleaner

...and finally today's favourite - I have just bought some window mesh so I can leave the window open without all the bees coming in. The window is next to the apple tree and they were all getting stuck inside. It took a little while to put up but its working well and surprisingly doesn't affect my view.

  1. My two cats (i actually got them for free so more of an acquisition, but they bring me a lot of joy)
  2. Bespoke window fly screens for every upstairs window. One of said cats went out of the window and fell off of the roof which led to a very unbearable few summers before we got them
  3. My shark cordless vacuum - game changer
  4. My bona wood floor mop - another game changer

I clearly have quite a simple life 😂

Wbeezer · 19/04/2020 18:27

My wool duvet, DH and I now have the following bed set up: a single wool duvet, each with linen covers, a suoer king size bed, twin control electric blanket, and V shaped pillows with brushed cotton covers. I am now so comfy its difficult to get up in the morning.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 19/04/2020 18:29

Every single one of my dogs, my wood burning stove and the instant pot.

theseriousmoonlight · 19/04/2020 18:31

Online dating - a 'premuim' one after a couple of years of disappointmenting online dating. Got a great DP, an amazing daughter and a baby on the way. I only paid for one month!

And audible. I can actually read every day, even if it is for just 15 mins at bedtime.

Nat6999 · 19/04/2020 18:36

My phone & tablet, both Samsung & a thousand times better than my apple phones.
My car, I'm disabled & my car does nearly everything except decide where to go.
My bed & mattress, I have a beautiful bedstead with crystal ball knobs & a sprung memory foam mattress, the mattress is about ready for replacing but has given me 10 years of restful sleep.

Deathraystare · 19/04/2020 18:42

A heated airer for clothes - we have tumble dryers (and washing machines) in the housing development but they don't always work.

Testerday I bought a fan. Replaced one that died on me. Badly needed because my tiny room is like a sauna most of the time.
