Ultimate bacon sandwich?

I've just made the perfect bacon roll.

  • Buttered, hot ciabatta roll cut and lightly toasted under the grill.
  • Quality bacon perfectly cooked (not burnt but fat crispy)
  • Mayonnaise and ketchup.

Fucking hell that was good.

If we are talking breakfast then white bread with good butter, thick unsmoked bacon and brown sauce.

If it’s a toasted sandwich kind of affair; panini roll, bacon, chilli jam, Brie and rocket.

LetTheCabbagesDie · 18/04/2020 19:25

yuk @ crispy bacon

Oh no, please don't say you like the fat to be all jelly-like

One slice of bread put in pad after bacon cooked to soak up fat/lightly toast. One side only. Bacon on this, the a buttered slice on top. No sauce.

Toasted panini, melted butter, smoked bacon with fat removed and ketchup

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 18/04/2020 19:31

Soft white bread, real butter, bacon with crispy fat but not too overdone, ketchup.

BulbTherapy · 18/04/2020 19:32

White roll, salted butter, bacon (no fat), tattie scone, broon sauce.

NW2SW · 18/04/2020 19:32

Mayo?! YABVU.

iklboo · 18/04/2020 19:36

Brown sauce is for sausage rolls only (the pastry ones).

NW2SW · 18/04/2020 19:37

Thick cut whole meal sourdough lightly toasted in the bacon griddle, smoked streaky bacon with crispy fat but not cremated, lightly salted butter and rhubarb ketchup - trust me!

bettybattenburg · 18/04/2020 19:37

Brown sauce? confused That's for sausages, surely?
No, brown sauce is for the supermarket shelves or the bin. I have never eaten it, never had it in the house and never will.

ExpletiveDelighted · 18/04/2020 19:41

Crusty fresh white bread, untoasted, dipped in the grill pan. Crispy unsmoked streaky rashers.

No butter, no sauce, no mayo, no salad, nothing else. Especially not butter.

ChillOutChick · 18/04/2020 19:42

Fresh and squashy multigrain bread
Smoked bacon grilled so fat is crispy (minimum 4 rashers)
Mayo

The end.

If in a jazzy mood I may add:
Sliced avocado
Ballymaloe relish

EggysMom · 18/04/2020 19:43

Warbys Green (the thickest), butter, thick sliced back bacon cooked to crispy, and red sauce.

(Yes, I come from a red/bacon & brown/sausages family.)

DontCallMeBaby · 18/04/2020 19:43

MsPavlichenko is close ... fry both slices of bread in the bacon pan, one side only. Bacon (back, some fat trimmed and the rest crisped) goes in the sandwich with fried sides inwards. Extra bacon flavour and the whole thing stays hot.

Andahelterskelterroundmylittle · 18/04/2020 19:44

Warburton toastie ,
Salted butter
Well cooked bacon
Grilled tomatoes Must be on it !!
Woooowwww💗🤪💗🤪

ClientQ · 18/04/2020 19:45

Warburtons
Salted butter
Bacon cremated (I like it to snap when you bite it)
Brown sauce (lots)
Fried egg

When my colleague orders for me he says "burn it, and when you think it's done, burn it a bit more" and it turns up perfect GrinGrin

Roominmyhouse · 18/04/2020 19:45

Fresh sourdough loaf
Crispy streaky smoked bacon
Ketchup

No butter, and no wobbly horrible fat. I hate having bacon anywhere but at home as it’s often so undercooked. They should ask you how you want it like they do with steak!

Davros · 18/04/2020 19:47

Always brown sauce with bacon.

PigInASlanket · 18/04/2020 19:51

White bread
Crispy bacon
Red sauce
Black pudding
Grin

I really miss having bacon sandwiches as I'm now vegan. After trying many brands, the 'This isn't bacon' is definitely the best. It tastes like unsmoked bacon and really crisps up!

Have it on toasted bread with melted violife cheese Grin We make the toasties in a frying pan as we don't have a toastie machine. So good!

London1066 · 18/04/2020 19:56

Also a cup of Yorkshire tea. It's not the weekend without one!

mrsm43s · 18/04/2020 19:56

Got to be white bread (be that bap, sliced, baguette, hell even bagel!)

Got to be brown sauce only. No mayo, no relish and definitely not (bleugh) ketchup.

Got to be real, salted butter.

Got to be grilled back bacon, fat crispy.

Apart from that, I'm not fussy at all!

LetTheCabbagesDie · 18/04/2020 19:57

I have a new fear of waking up in someone's house, hungover, and being presented with some of these monstrosities. Untoasted bread? Rocket? No butter? Jelly like, undercooked bacon?

😫😫😫

@Wewearpinkonwednesdays

Mango chutney? Is it good? I do love mango chutney but have never tried it in this combo

LetTheCabbagesDie · 18/04/2020 19:58

No butter, and no wobbly horrible fat. I hate having bacon anywhere but at home as it’s often so undercooked.

Or shit quality bacon.

They should ask you how you want it like they do with steak!

Yes! Definitely.
