I am practically dribbling at the thought of some good Japanese food, and there is no way I could hope to fakeaway it at home

Miso soup, velvety tofu, vinegared seaweed salad, sashimi, chicken yakitori, proper green tea and warm sake.....

A house to myself to listen to music really loudly.
Gigs. Have had a fair few cancelled / postponed and just waiting on the rest later in the year to follow suit.
A hug with my dad.

KellyHall · 18/04/2020 16:56

I miss my mum, my friends and swimming.

0blio · 18/04/2020 17:01

@skybluee most Poundland stores are still open as they sell food and other essentials.

I miss seeing my family and going to the hairdresser, I can't wait to have a haircut.

Alone time.
Spontaneously meeting my mum for a coffee / surprising DH at work at lunchtime.
Running in different areas.
DD's teacher (I have a silly crush on him!)

Things I miss....

Driving to the shops, to work, to see my family....just having somewhere to go with a purpose!

Going to the local pub with friends on a Friday night.

Going to work, as in my place of work - finding it so hard working full time at home whilst trying to parent/homeschool at the same time.

Having fast food for lunch. Being at home and having to make lunch everyday on my lunch break instead of having my usual walk to town to pick up a Subway or Greggs sandwich is boring!

Space from my child (in the nicest way possible) - being with them all the time for the last 3/4 weeks has been lovely at times but it's made me appreciate the time I am able spend doing my own thing whilst other people take care of them!

Holidays- two cancelled so far...

Making plans with friends- visiting them, nights in, day trips, etc.

Taking a walk without having to cross over at least 10 times in order to adhere to social distancing.

MadCattery · 18/04/2020 17:21

A haircut!

BigStripeyBastard · 18/04/2020 17:25

Cheese. Decent, poncey, from-a-proper-cheeseshop CHEESE. Not crappy, shrink wrapped supermarket cheese but creamy, crumbly wax coated truckles.... dark, dusty, nettle encased rinds....
Yarg, Brie, Cheshire, Lancashire, Wensleydale, oak smoked cheddar..... a Rhuby Crumble, a Yorkshire Cask....
Served with a sharp, fruity, oniony chutney.... some crisp, savoury, peppery crackers and some firm, sharp, juicy apple slices and pale green grapes.
Perhaps some thick sliced, local ham, carved from the bone and wrapped in crinkly waxed paper, with some fresh, crusty bread covered in salty, creamy butter. A scraping of hot, yellow mustard on the ham.

But mostly the cheese. All of the cheese.

Cheese.

A proper pub burger.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 19/04/2020 08:51

Currently being kept very busy by work, but I miss the face to face sales and seeing all my regular customers, other business owners I'm friendly with, and so on. I've switched to doing online sales and local deliveries, which just isn't the same! Mind you, I get the impression people are going stir crazy stuck at home as people I've never seen before in my life will engage me in a good five minutes of chit chat on the doorstep Grin

Missing being able to go to the pub with friends for several glasses of wine.

Missing seeing the family.

Missing having good sushi (already had to wean myself off it to some extent when I moved out of London - no more half price itsu / wasabi at the end of the day!)

Pelleas · 19/04/2020 08:54

I miss my weekly potter round the charity shops, which I used to do at lunchtime.

Local safari
Dc's clubs
Harvester
Local pub grub

firstimemamma · 20/04/2020 17:54

My friends and my son's little toddler friends.
Play groups.
Shopping as normal without being told off for accidentally putting a foot out of line or for failing to see a tiny 2 metre line to keep me from standing too close to the till (which as far as I can see is pointless as I had to lean forwards to put stuff on the counter and pay etc anyway so I was still just as close).
Not having to socially distance etc all the time.

Special offers at the supermarket, the cost of food has gone through the roof. The weekly tax credits are barely covering the cost.

RingtheBells · 20/04/2020 18:15

Going away in our caravan, going to garden centre and the tip

bulliedintonamechange · 20/04/2020 18:17

Takeaway, I know some are open but I wouldn't buy in case someone coughed on it before they brought it.
Pub lunch, can't wait!!

RunningNinja79 · 20/04/2020 18:21

Races and parkrun. Unfortunately as they can attract a large volume of people I think these will be the last to come back. May be the odd smaller trail races that dont attract a large crowd of supporters. If I'm really lucky parkrun just might start up this year, but my favourite type of race - the big road race (think Great North Run and large City 10Ks) I can't see coming back until next year at least.

Days out with the family.

Surprisingly I'm not missing food as such. Thought I'd miss pub meals, maccy D's and KFC. I dont miss them one bit. Will still go back as soon as I can (well once they all quieten down after the first initial mass gatherings in them)

trappedsincesundaymorn · 20/04/2020 18:27
