I know I know there's lots of arguments for not adding to the deliveries being sent and stopping ordering online but it's my sister's birthday next week and I'd like to send her something really lovely to make her day a bit nicer.
I wanted to send these from Doughnut Time for a bit of fun - www.doughnuttimestore.com/product/the-design-yo-own-kit/66?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=2 but they're currently sold out.

Any ideas?

FourEyesGood · 18/04/2020 12:48

I sent my friends some Brew Co tea anonymously. They still don’t know it was me and I intend to keep it that way.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 18/04/2020 12:52

Got my MIL some flowers for her birthday beginning of the month. She said it made her cry as she was missing us all and didn't expect it. I also brought her some shopping around a few days before as she was isolating and I put a birthday cake in with it. Serves 28 Grin

CakeMonster100 · 18/04/2020 13:13

Is anyone local to her doing deliveries? A couple of cafes in our area are delivering cream teas and cakes to people. Also some restaurants are doing a delivery service - Cote are delivering meals to heat through or to put in the freezer (as well as delivering wine and meat).

I bought a friend who is run off her feet as a keyworker some expensive bath stuff and left it on her doorstep as a surprise (during my daily walk in case anyone starts frothing.)

LER83 · 18/04/2020 15:12

I've done flowers from local places that are still delivering, my mum has sent my sister some cheese & chutney as it's her 40th birthday tmrw! Double check the donut place as looks like they have 2 other types in stock, think the sold out one was their easter one. Some local places to me are doing afternoon teas for delivery.

AwkwardSquad · 18/04/2020 15:19

We’ve sent books to several people via small local book shops.

QueenofLouisiana · 18/04/2020 15:22

I bought my mum some bottles from Lyre’s. She’s had to give up alcohol for health reasons and has found the evening very long with fruit squash and cups of tea.
She now has nice bottles of alcohol free spirits to sip and enjoy.

Cocolapew · 18/04/2020 15:31

DD2 is staying with her boyfriends family, I sent a Cadburys hamper for Easter to them.

A friend and I are going through our friendship group and sending random presents. We're loving it :-)

JingsMahBucket · 19/04/2020 14:30

This is a great idea. @QueenofLouisiana where did you get those bottles, please? Or if anyone knows a good online retailer for Seedlip, that would be appreciated!

Defiantly41 · 19/04/2020 14:33

I think you can buy Seedlip and Aecorn from Waitrose Cellar online, both excellent non-alcoholic suggestions. I've also sent a Cornish cream tea in the last (via Amazon) and a gorgeous blanket from So Cosy who I think have a sale on if you're quick

JingsMahBucket · 19/04/2020 14:36

@Defiantly41 thank you, I’ll browse a bit.

Windyatthebeach · 19/04/2020 14:36
