Emotional, weird day today but came home, did the usual decontamination routine which allowed me to cry in the shower before seeing the kids and have now binge watched crap telly and feeling more positive with the prospect of a weekend off.

Am going to try hard to avoid the news, social media and texts from colleagues and try to pretend the C word doesn’t exist!

Thanks DdJames-we have some fabric versions of those but the culprit today was a new batch of masks and I have NO clue how it managed to dig in to this particular spot so badly. Have a spectacular sudocream and loo roll dressing in place. I knew the loo roll stock piling was there for a reason!

Sorry you are having a tough time Lemonblast💐 Sounds very tough. I do worry a lot about how staff who have worked through this are going to be when this is over. You need to try and look after yourself.

We are a team of only 2 nurses relying on bank and agency staff and My other RMN did not turn up today and the one for the next 2 days can't come as they have been working elsewhere with Covid19 positive patients. Working as the only RMN just adds to the pressure and workload.

We don't have any cases on the ward but have someone isolated as a precaution for 14 long days. So tough to try and explain to severely mentally unwell people that they can't leave their room😢

I'm coping but I'm just knackered. I'm doing 50 hours this week and even more next week. Being the person in charge of the roster tends to mean you work too much to try and plug the gaps😫

Yep we have a good team around us and we’ve had a few more experienced nurses redeployed to the team now so numbers are better.
Plus I had a shift swap so managed a day off today and done literally nothing!
And the vaccine trial news has given me a real lift!
