How's your Easter Sunday going?

lucysmam · 12/04/2020 16:05

We're having a relaxing day doing nothing much. No housework/washing or anything like that (apart from the washing up...I swear next door drop theirs off after every meal Hmm ).

I've just put a blue dye on dd1's hair (will wash out hopefully). Dd2 was munching Easter egg while playing Minecraft. I suggested dying just the ends of her hair but she gave me a very funny look Grin

I wanted to start on the diamond painting kit I found yesterday, but also want to put Sunday dinner on so might leave it til tomorrow morning now.

How's your day going so far? What have you been up to?

I've treated myself to a long run. In the past couple of weeks, I've been running for 20-40 minutes 2 or 3 times a week.

Today I went out early for 90mins and it was wonderful!

TheWordmeister · 12/04/2020 16:31

Lovely! Big walk in the sunshine.

Prosecco in the garden with yesterday's Times crossword.

Now about to sit down for a huge meal with roast lamb.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 12/04/2020 16:32

Crap. Just had a massive row with DH. He's being a massive bellend.

He's downstairs and I'm upstairs being tortured with Frozen songs on repeat from DD's room.

I got caught hiding Easter eggs for the egg hunt!
Quickly changed 1 of my phone contacts to Easter Bunny and had them text to say they were struggling to get round everyone but had left eggs on the doorstep for me to hide! Think I got away with it...

DJMumzy · 12/04/2020 16:36

@thequeenbeyondthewall sorry to hear! Hope it gets better later.

We have done Easter egg hunt, chillaxed and ordered Thai takeaway for dinner. We have just finished a big painting/remodelling job in the house so today was the day to enjoy it.

I am reading a Jo Nesbo thriller waiting for the Thai food to be delivered later.

beela · 12/04/2020 16:37

Ds(9) has been in a foul mood. Possibly because this morning mainly consisted of chocolate and screen time.... On a normal Sunday he would eat a couple of weetabix and then go and play rugby for 2 hours.

FrenchFancie · 12/04/2020 16:37

Being cross.
My next door neighbours and the two houses across the street have had bbq on thier front gardens, everyone standing around having a drink, kids playing together, kids playing with adults from other houses etc. We live on a quiet dead end street so there’s no danger from cars but social distancing doesn’t apply to them apparently.
I’m p*ssed off because Dd has to be shielded because of her asthma and high dose steroids and she cried because all the other kids were playing out and we wouldn’t let her.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 12/04/2020 16:37

Ran 14 miles at 6am. Tried to sit in the garden but too cold and windy. Sat in the house and cleaned my bicycle. Been very bored!

iklboo · 12/04/2020 16:39

Relaxing so far. DH has been out doing local food deliveries, DS has been on his Xbox, I've been chilling out. Made hot roast beef & onion gravy barms with wedges for dinner.

Wine & vodka in for later while watching catch up stuff.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 12/04/2020 16:40

@DJMumzy thank you. It will blow over. It's just being cooped up. Today we've both just been a bit short with each other. Things will be back to normal later or at the latest tomorrow.

I want a Thai now. I'm happy enough up here reading and I've made a cocktail.

bengalcat · 12/04/2020 16:41

Took the dog out for a run this am , done two loads of laundry drying in the sun , cooked healthy ( well apart from the fried zucchini in Parmesan ) veggie lunch , read the papers , partner ‘ snoring ‘ on the sofa , having a joint for dinner ( joint = roast lamb ) so all in all a nice restful day .

DJMumzy · 12/04/2020 16:43

@thequeenbeyondthewall I know what you mean, I think DH and I haven't killed each other because he is a key worker and goes out if the house whilst I work from home. Smile

lucysmam · 12/04/2020 17:06

@thequeenbeyondthewall fingers crossed for a better evening for you.

@iklboo your dinner sounds lovely! I currently have a chicken in the oven to go with roast baby potatoes & veg shortly.

@FrenchFancie that would piss me off too! My neighbours have carried on as normal, visitors, playing out in the street & everything else they'd usually do. I wonder what goes through some people's heads sometimes!

@Howmanysleepsnow well saved Grin

Lovely thanks Smile
We had a bacon, scrambled egg and Easter bunny crumpet brunch, roast lamb on to cook since 1pm and am just about to carry on with the rest.
Easter chocolate and games with my dc most of the day and the rest of it we have all just chilled with their our own things and no arguments between my dc!
I’m talking to the all the important people in my life over the phone/text and have a lovely phone call to look forward to tomorrow.
Sun’s out, my cats are all relaxed and happy and I feel at peace Smile
The blue dye sounds pretty cool!
What meat are you having?
Lamb is a treat for us and I’m very excited to eat it!

vampirethriller · 12/04/2020 17:15

It's been lovely. Made BBQ sauce chicken legs with potato salad and green beans, been to the allotment. Just having leftover chicken for dinner then cracking open the Easter chocolate.

Troels · 12/04/2020 17:18

I've a nice long chat with my friend in California, I never knew you could call using messenger. She's locked down too and working from home.
Ten commandments on TV takes me back to my childhood, so good day.
Dd has been nice, chatted a while and has gone off to her xbox.
Also Dh found me a magnum in the freezer, and is cooking our dinner. All good.

willowmelangell · 12/04/2020 17:27

Having a great day, thank you for asking! Binge watching Nicolas Cage movies on Netflix.

Bluewavescrashing · 12/04/2020 17:30

Bit shite tbh.

DH and I aren't talking to each other. I looked after the kids this morning, did their egg hunt, cooked a lovely roast dinner. He took over at 3pm and I went for a nap. Just woke up and he's taking them out for a walk.

covidnamechange · 12/04/2020 17:31

I have to make up with him. I have some kitchen cabinets coming from Ikea tomorrow and I don't know how to change the drill bit. Or what drill
Bit and wall plugs to use.

I don't know if I can put them up on my own I have never drilled anything before.

(I can do most things and I am ex army so I'm not useless but I've just never had to do this before)

Wired4sound · 12/04/2020 17:32

Shit. We usually have a big family party on Easter Sunday and I miss everyone.

I thought I was doing well with lockdown but today has been really hard.

covidnamechange · 12/04/2020 17:32

@Bluewavescrashing

Have a nap yourself! Hope your day gets better.

covidnamechange · 12/04/2020 17:39

Today has been hard. I think mostly
Because it's a date most people in the uk celebrate and see family and it's just past the two week mark.

If people are on holiday for two weeks, you miss them but you know it's not forever. We've gone past that with no real idea of when things will go back to normal.

I took my parents bread and milk today and a few bits with an Easter egg each and a bottle of wine and whisky for them. Sat on the front garden wall and they stood in the door and we chatted for half an hour. 3m away.

I really, really fucking miss them. I miss my sisters. I even miss people from work.

But I am also glad I'm not an NHS worker as I'd be so scared everyday. Scared of passing it to people, scared of seeing someone I knew in the hospital. Scared of seeing people die in front of me.

Today is just hitting hard. First time I've had a real cry over it really. It's hard for everyone for different reasons.

MrsPear · 12/04/2020 17:51

Was woken at 6 30 by ds age 7 ‘mum, can I have my Easter egg’ - no was the answer. I finally gave in after breakfast at 9 and he had retold the Easter story. Grin Roast pork for lunch followed by steam pudding.

Boys Playing in the garden.

H is in a funny mood and stomping around like a toddler and muttering in his first language (he thinks we don’t understand the swearing) - I’m being equally toddler like and ignoring him after he snapped when I asked what was wrong Hmm

covidnamechange · 12/04/2020 17:56

Teach us some swear words please Smile Mrs pear

colouringinpro · 12/04/2020 17:56

Well I had a nice walk this morning and cooked a yummy lunch, pud and first ever simnel cake.

I made the mistake of letting ex come over for the day for kids sake. He's just sat around and ate/drunk everything I've offered. Oh he made Himself a cup of tea this afternoon. The only decent thing he's done is load the dishwasher. He's not even done anything with the dcs.

What a shithead.
