disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 11/04/2020 19:30

What is the world telling us all ??? (With the exception of the poor lady with toothache- which I would t wish upon anyone)

We don't NEED to be doing all the usual crap to appreciate our home and/or family. No one is going to be worse off for not ;

Buying more stuff
Burning more petrol
Making kids do more activities'

The advantages are that children will learn to get 'bored' and out of that they will develop their imaginations.
Parents will have more time to spend with their kids in a way that really engages as opposed to the horrible rush in which we all live our lives.

I only wish this could have happened in a more benign way that didn't cause the loss of so many peoples loved ones.

TheSheepofWallSt · 11/04/2020 19:37

Oh god... beautiful day so set up the teepee, water play and sandpit in the garden for DS... who had shitfit after shitfit all day, culminating in me losing my rag and shouting (not sweary horrible, just very stern) on three separate occasions.
Actually the third time it was more a wail/shriek of despair/telling off/ primal scream when he deliberately tipped the water I was washing the windows with all into his buggy because I wouldn’t let him
watch tv.

Normally a very gentle parent but we have days like this where he won’t listen/ do
as asked at all, but is simultaneously clingy to the point of suffocating me... and I’ll be honest. I don’t deal with them well.

Locked down/socially isolated for a month now, single parent, 3.5 year old. It’s a lot.

Hey ho. Tomorrow’s another day...

TheSheepofWallSt · 11/04/2020 19:38

Sorry that turned into something else didn’t it Blush

TwoZeroTwoZero · 11/04/2020 19:54

We've spent most of the day in the garden. We had a bbq, we've listened to music and chatted and our dc have been scooting up & down and playing and have ended the day by going for a short walk.

merryhouse · 11/04/2020 20:00

Woke up far too early aching from yesterday's workout (my core really needs it...) with a stupid headache from one sodding pint of beer. Got up slowly and gently and eventually recovered. Despite this was first out of bed.

Put washing on.
Soaked fruit in orange juice.
Put another layer of chocolate on the egg moulds.
Spotted where two pieces of husband's jigsaw should go and didn't put them in.
Did crosswords.
Had lunch (fish fingers chips and beans).
Made simnel cake.
Washed up.
Hung washing.
Finished making Easter eggs.
Listened to son2 practising tuba, sons 1&2 playing duets, and three different sources of outside music (including Frozen, Billy Joel and Whitney Houston)
Watched baby over the road playing in their front garden (he was in a pop-up tent to keep the sun off but there was a little window facing us)
Did crosswords.
Had tea (pork pie or taramasalata, to taste; salad and Pringles)
Watched Toy Story 2.
Now faffing on the laptop while husband washes up, son2 plays with his friends online and son1 reads the tweets on Easter From Kings.
Will probably watch the Christmas episode of Call the Midwife later (we've been catching up and have just this year's series left to go now), along with another pint of beer.

mamaduckbone · 11/04/2020 20:09

A bit of gardening.
Reading and playing swingball and badminton with the dcs in the garden.
A walk along the canal.
Barbecue.
Feeling beyond lucky that we have a garden, even a tiny one.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 11/04/2020 20:09

Blitzed DDs room. Made lunch, then carried on in her room. Managed to get her to throw away rubbish and choose toys and books she's grown out of to give to my Reception class. She found lots of things she forgot she had and now has more to play with and do in the next few days and weeks. Ordered pizza for dinner and now watching Indiana Jones. Kids showering, DH supervising. I have a glass of wine.

Arrowfanatic · 11/04/2020 20:16

Ran an online karate class this morning.
Video chat my mum
Laundry
Tesco's
Dropped shopping at Nans
Watched a movie
Played in the garden with the kids and DH
Showered children
Drank wine
