Does anyone else have terrible hay fever!

I've been hiding inside all day and my eyes are still stinging and itchy. I have prescription meds from my GP but nothing is helping this year. Is anyone else struggling?!

Yes. Very much so. And I don't even have a garden!

triptrapdollydumpling · 11/04/2020 17:13

Yes.

Alconleigh · 11/04/2020 17:14

Yep. Riddled.

Yep

PristineCondition · 11/04/2020 17:17

Yes! Worse it's been for about 15 years for me

tiredanddangerous · 11/04/2020 17:18

Yes! I’m sneezing and wheezing like nobodies business today. Didn’t dare go out for my daily exercise in case the coughing frightens anyone!

poppym12 · 11/04/2020 17:19

Yes. Asthma not settling easily and I had to go out earlier so now I'm all itchy too.

GetUpAgain · 11/04/2020 17:20

Yes! Have taken fexofenadine and it's not helped in the slightest. I suppose there is more gardening/mowing/stuff being chopped up/pollen being whizzed about today than at any other time in the history of hayfever. Sympathy to everyone and a glitterball instead of flowers Glitterball

Almahart · 11/04/2020 17:20

That's interesting I wonder why it's so bad. Just went to wash my face again. My eyes are so so itchy

Any tips anyone?

Yes it’s awful. My ears and throats are so itchy and my eyes are staring to run. I havnt even been outside today cause I was trying to avoid this.

chilimartini · 11/04/2020 17:24

Me too! I steamed my face and I was a bit better. I am going to start taking bee pollen tablets
Has anyone tried them for hay fever?

Almahart · 11/04/2020 17:25

I haven't been outside today and it's made no difference. Might as well sit in the garden Confused

Yes really bad last two days, taken antihistamines and the up the nose spray.

Eyes are itching feels like I have cold.

Lightuptheroom · 11/04/2020 17:29

Yes, my ds is itching terribly, he's 18 and everybody looks each time he touches his face! He wishes people would realise that not everything is covid 19!

ArseholesOnToast · 11/04/2020 17:30

Mine is terrible, so bad. I can’t stop sneezing and I’ve not even been outside - this is just from having the window open. I’ve got an itchy face and a terrible pressure headache. My usual antihistamines aren’t touching it. I might look into bee pollen tablets.

BadlyAgedMemes · 11/04/2020 17:34

Mine is horrible, and I haven't left the house, apart from the putting out or getting in laundry occasionally. Windows have been open, though, as the air gets stale pretty quick.

I'm on a prescription nasal spray, taking OTC antihistamins, spray and eye drops, and still feeling very congested, stinging eyes and sinuses etc. Asthma has thankfully not started flaring up too badly, although I am going through eight puffs (the max) on a MART inhaler fairly regularly now, too.

GetUpAgain · 11/04/2020 17:35

I found it was better sitting in the blazing sun than being indoors. But I don't have any suncream so I couldn't do that all day. I am using steam for momentary relief. I used to find green tea helped but I don't have any, I tried lemon and ginger tea and that did nothing (apart from being steamy). Yuk yuk yuk.

Nowthereistwo · 11/04/2020 17:36

My hayfever is shocking and causing me to wheeze and tbh I'm worried about getting covid whilst the hayfever is so bad.

BackseatKnitter · 11/04/2020 17:38

Mine was awful on Thursday. Was sat in my car first thing trying to decide whether to go to work or not as I’m customer facing. Had to take allergy tablets for the first time in ages.

Nonnymum · 11/04/2020 17:41

I've never had it before but I think I do now. My eyes and nose have been very itchy. It's very odd.

morecoffeerequired · 11/04/2020 17:45

DH and DD are both suffering at the moment and for once, to my surprise, I'm not. Don't know why Confused

jelly79 · 11/04/2020 18:18

I have really suffered. Clawing are my face and waking me up in the night! Beconase spray has really helped today! Never been anywhere near this bad before?

Fishcakey · 13/04/2020 10:57

Mine's been awful this year. Burny tubes and sore throat for about three weeks. Tree pollen I think.

Sloth66 · 13/04/2020 10:58

Really bad today, itching and nose very runny

MrsCastiel · 13/04/2020 11:05

Same. Its coincided with the arrival of cherry blossom in my front garden.

My asthma wheeze was getting so bad I ended up digging out my left over prednisolone tablets as my usual inhaler was only just taking the edge off. I was terrified of calling 111 as I was scared the moment I mentioned a wheeze they'd have been down to the covid unit.

I'm slightly better today, it is quite windy out though. My wheeze has settled. I've another dose of pred to take, will review tomorrow with whether I need to see GP (I suffer with recurring chest infections)

As another poster mentioned, my main concern is being more susceptible to covid whilst so snotty and having to touch my face. Luckily I'm only at home, so at least I can largely stay put.
