Not one card for my birthday :(

It’s my birthday tomorrow. I’ve just checked my post box and I’ve not received one card. I know it’s a first world problem but I’m a bit upset that no one has even sent me a card.

I always make a big effort with everyone else in my family. I’m an organised person and have things lined up months in advance. The post is slow I know but my birthday is the same day every year! They could have sent it a little earlier?

Even my DH admits he’s messed up. He ordered my card on Wednesday expecting it to be on time .

Lockdown is shit.

I’m not sending cards at the moment. I don’t want to slow the post down with non essential items.

It might be your love language but feeling this upset, as an adult woman, about not getting a card is a bit childlike. Most adults don't really care that much about their birthdays. Do they?

I think there are more important things than whether you get a bday card on your birthday plus I think the postman would really appreciate not having to make nonessential deliveries

I order some cards off Moonpig for DC on the 3rd, still not arrived but luckily I was preparing early and DC actual birthday is a few weeks away. If they do not arrive then it will have to be homemade cards.

@Spinachtastegud surely there are always more important things than pretty much every day to day annoyance? Doesn't mean OP isnt allowed to feel annoyed or upset.

I think it's also a sign of the times. Lots of people simply do texts/fb/WhatsApp messages now.

It's just nice to be remembered I think. I hope you got some nice messages at least x

To be honest I've only managed cards because they have been via Moonpig and ordered a few weeks before I need them. Otherwise people wouldn't be getting any from me either.
