Is anyone else having a really lazy day ?

Please make me feel better.
I should be painting the utility room but so far have acheived nada - super tired after 12 hour shift yesterday and have shamefully abandoned home schooling schedule so DCs are just watching dreadful Netflix shows. So far I've had 4 coffees and filled my basket at Benuto with rugs I can't afford!
Either join me in my stupor or give me a kick up the ass!

Yes I’m having a lazy day. I’ve been WFH for the last three weeks as well as trying to manage home schooling two primary school dc so I intend having a stress free 4 day weekend.

I went for a lovely walk this morning. Fresh air, nice weather and gorgeous spring scents coming from trees and gardens as I passed. I really felt better for it!

Now I’m MNing in the front garden while dc weed the borders, occasionally chatting with neighbours as they pass walking dogs or toddlers (keeping appropriate social distance of course). That’s pretty much the plan for the rest of the afternoon.

Later on it will be frozen pizza and a (shop bought) prepared salad for dinner so zero effort there. Netflix with wine and crisps tonight. I feel no guilt, the laundry and vacuuming can wait Smile.

I'm very busy procrastinating. I'll have you know my list of things to procrastinate about is very long, ergo I am very busy.

Trying to sunbathe but it's quite cloudy and cold here (Yorkshire). I have just carried a weeks worth of shopping 2 miles home fro the supermarket though so at least I e done something.

halfgirlhalfturnip · 10/04/2020 14:35

I have cut the grass and started on the weeding - more than enough activity for the weekend! Now plan to spend the rest of the day (weekend) on Netflix and eating a delicious Belgian choc Easter egg. Possibly looking at a nice gin and ginger ale or two later over a family game of Monopoly.

vanillandhoney · 10/04/2020 14:42

In the garden with a raspberry G&T enjoying the sun!

Sparklingplasters · 10/04/2020 14:49

I got up with DC, cooked pancakes then meatballs with spaghetti for lunch, now I’m languishing in the bath with a g&t and face pack, listening to xfm.... lush

dingit · 10/04/2020 14:51

I'm tired of all the competitive doeyness. This is a great thread Grin

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 10/04/2020 14:54

Gone back to bed very tired

No garden ☹️ Or I would sit outside

Shall drag out for a walk later

HappyHammy · 10/04/2020 14:59

I am now exhausted watching two wood pigeons digging through my fresh pile of cuttings looking for the exact right shaped twigs for their nestbuilding. Oh god someone has just started jetwashing something in their garden. Peace and quiet overConfused

MuddyPuddlesAndPrettyBubbles · 10/04/2020 15:00

I am desperately trying to do nothing but my 3yo has the arse and is following me around screaming at me every time I try to relax. If I try to engage him with activities he also screams at me. Ditto if I put him in front of the tv. Roll on bedtime.

HoffiCoffi13 · 10/04/2020 15:12

I got up to get a Twister now I’m back on the sun lounger.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 10/04/2020 15:15

I'm Sunbathing! Feel like I've been on my feet all day but achieved nothing. Just constantly helping DC with different requests, learning, baking etc. We home educate normally anyway (for about a year) but this is obviously way more challenging! I think everyone should enjoy this weather in the garden while they can. Really feel for those without a garden 😢

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 10/04/2020 15:16

I'd love a drink in the sun but I feel it's too early as been drinking far too much the last 3 weeks.

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 10/04/2020 15:24

Sitting in the back garden with DH drinking endless cups of tea and eating rubbish as we’re both hungover Blush Didn’t have that much to drink but it was nasty, cheap wine that we found at the back of the pantry, and it seemed like a good idea last night Blush

DS(13) is sending about in his underpants eating crisps and playing on his xbox.

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 10/04/2020 15:24

Chocolatecake12 · 10/04/2020 15:32

So far today I’ve made biscuits and iced them, dyed my hair and finished my book. I’ve also done a bit of the jigsaw we’ve got on the go too. I’m not lounging in the garden on Mumsnet contemplating my daily walk.....
kids are on x box and phone. Tried to encourage ds13 to read some book....it’s not going to happen.

Matildathehun77 · 10/04/2020 15:32

Well yes, but I'm finding being a natural lazybones is serving me quite well at the moment.... whilst others are climbing the walls and scrabbling round for something to do I'm pottering along slowly, snoozing often and stopping to admire the view.

starsinyourpies · 10/04/2020 15:37

I don't know who I thought I was but I went for a run this morning. Can now barely walk so mainly CBeebies and garden here! Lots of cups of tea and I'll be having a second bath later. Busy busy.

Beansandcoffee · 10/04/2020 15:38

The government have told us to do nothing. So for the first time in my life I’m sitting in the garden, reading a book and not feeling guilty that I should be dragging the kids off to the beach etc etc.

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 10/04/2020 15:43

It's the school holidays so nobody needs to be 'home schooling'. We set work for the two weeks before we officially broke up and will do so after the holiday, but our children are not expected to work through the holidays. Even the ones that have been in school this week have not done any school work.

HoffiCoffi13 · 10/04/2020 15:44

Yes I haven’t done any work with mine over the holidays. They need a break!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/04/2020 15:49

We've been out for about an hour in the sunshine but lazy apart from that. We baked some cookies this afternoon. Now DS is watching YouTube and I'm making a cheese sauce for dinner later.

JMAngel1 · 10/04/2020 16:04

@Beansandcoffee yes, that's exactly how I feel. Usually when the sun is shining, I feel a pressure to go out and "have fun" - it's just lovely to kick back and relax.
We've now moved into garden and I'm having cappuccino and lemon cake - yum. I'll wait until DH gets home from work before succumbing to the wine Grin

I lay in until past nine, made myself breakfast and took it back to bed, then transferred to the garden for more lounging! DH bought DD7 Just Dance on the Switch and she danced for three hours straight. Going to go out for our walk in a minute and find some pretty branches to hang painted eggs off.

So nice to have an excuse to do sweet FA—I’m usually a neurotic doey person on a day like this.

Bluewavescrashing · 10/04/2020 17:10

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Re: Bank Holidays, my school is open today and Monday and is paying staff double time.
