What are your plans today?

I am curious how everyone is filling their time. In my house, my partner is at work today (NHS), left at 6am, home at 8pm. Teenage son will probably surface by 2pm and lounge round the house, facetiming his friends/girlfriend. I am planning on painting the fence in the garden with the 'help' of my toddler. Also need to order some presents for teenage son's birthday next week.
I am still working 2 or 3 days each week but I am trying to do some DIY while at home. What about you, any plans today?

I’m just having a coffee in bed. I have about 3 hours of wfh work to do. Then I’ll spend an hour or two in the garden with adult DD, we’re still sorting it out, weeding etc. Then I’m going to do an hour of house sorting. So that’s most of the day gone. I’ll then maybe work on one of my craft projects.

UsernameTaken76 · 08/04/2020 08:59

i reorganised half of the kitchen yesterday aiming to do the other half today. Have cleared the paperwork drawer already building up to empty the kitchen cupboards next to clean and tidy them. Might round off by cleaning the skirting boards.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 08/04/2020 09:00

DH has the day off. He's already getting under our feet :D However it does mean I can go food shopping.

Then usualstuff... School wok, Lego, trying to do housework around children. We plan to tidy put a shed too.

Kahlua4me · 08/04/2020 09:03

I am planning on painting the fence, sewing some scrub bags for nhs and cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, all with the help of dh and teen dc.

However I am currently still in bed trying to get the oomph to get up...

elQuintoConyo · 08/04/2020 09:05

Yoga on the roof.
Load of washing.
Bunch of WhatsApp videochats with friends/family.
Watch the hottie on his terrace lifting weights after lunch.
Walk the dog for fifteen minutes x 2.
Scratch myself.
Do some sewing.
Play with my son.
Surf MN.
Make a salad.
Scream into a pillow.
Have a shower.
Prepare work stuff for next week.

Rinse and repeat tomorrow.
No garden, not allowed out to exercise. Bar taking the dog out.

Oh, and gaze at the sea with a cuppa, cos I can see it from my living room window

Ragwort · 08/04/2020 09:11

I’m on furlough.
DH working from home, teenage DS gets up around midday, does some uni work.

Got up around 7.30, made coffee and did a few admin tasks, including writing cards to elderly, isolated friends.
Planning a 15 min on line workout.
Half an hour of chores.
Longish walk to the furthest post box and back via the woods (just over an hour).
Lunch (no breakfast).
Half an hour of de-cluttering - aiming to do a couple of cupboards/drawers per day.
Bit of weeding.
Plan to phone a friend around 4pm.

..... getting bored now, maybe another short online workout, reading, surfing Mumsnet.

DH goes out for his exercise late afternoon so I will use that time to catch up on my choice of tv.

Dinner tonight - getting fish and chips for a treat.

Family board games and cards.

That’s it, Groundhog Day except for when I can get out and do my volunteering which comes under ‘ helping the vulnerable’.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 08/04/2020 09:13

Bit of work, try and keep DD entertained, walk the dog, deep clean my bedroom & bathroom, pick up dogs meds for Vets.

MaryBoBary · 08/04/2020 09:15

Me and 4 yo have just had breakfast in bed. I've done so much deep cleaning already that I have nothing left to do except the mountain of ironing I've been putting off. It will literally take me hours!

perniciousdot · 08/04/2020 09:17

Still in bed. As are all D.C. I'm loving the relaxed pace. We are decorating the whole house Troon by room so this has given us an opportunity to crack on.

Aragog · 08/04/2020 09:19

Dh got up at about 7:30 to get showered, dressed and breakfast to start work (from home) at 8:30.
He brought me a cuppa and some breakfast in bed which he often does. I've done some work responding to pupils work on my phone from bed and considering getting up and showered to work from my laptop downstairs.
Dh and I will work most of the day at the dining table with a break for lunch and maybe a walk locally.

Teen Dd will get up just before lunch I suspect and spend her day lazing around watching Disney+ or chatting with friends. We may persuade her out for a walk. As it's sunny she may even venture it the garden.

MIL is staying with us for the duration too. She's currently in the shower. It's fil's funeral tomorrow so she has some last communications with the minister and registrar later which me or Dh will support her with. Then she was watch tv, read, chat with dd it speak to friends on the phone. She may come for a walk with us or her and dd night go together later instead.

Some paperwork into sort following FIL's death and before tomorrow's funeral. Sadly it doesn't look like we will find any flowers though our walk may take us past the shops so could look there. Though most don't appear to have any.

Will spend some time mastering the new coffee machine which arrived yesterday as the old one broke at the weekend.

Have food in for tea already so no supermarket shop today.

Teacher12345 · 08/04/2020 09:20

We have some bookshelves that need sorting but without access to the tip, I'm finding it hard to dispose of all the stuff I keep sorting through.
I want to sort of the kitchen cupboards too. Kids need some entertaining as well which is going to be in the form of swingball, salt painting and making their own pizza for lunch. Will race them at Mario Kart and get the eldest to tidy his room. Reading in bed and our daily excercise too.

Ellapaella · 08/04/2020 09:20

I'm at home with DC, DH is at work until 8pm (NHS).
We will take the dog out for her walk to the beach, we are lucky we live a 5 minute walk from the seafront so that's our daily exercise.
The rest of the day will be spent in and out of the garden, DC can have some screen time, I have a few boring jobs around the house to do.
I'll do some Pilates and we might give the Joe Wicks things a try. Yesterday we made an obstacle course in the garden for the DC and the dog.
We have also been watching a Harry Potter movie everyday, today we are onto goblet of fire.
It's as much about trying to entertain the Labrador as much as the kids tbh as she's used to having 2-3 hours exercise a day and at the moment it's down to just one walk.
I'll do some piano practice and then make roast chicken for tea.
It's amazing how quickly the days go by to be honest!
I'm looking forward to being back at work for my shift on Friday, I'm having to work opposite shifts to DH and I never thought I'd miss work so much.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 08/04/2020 09:23

I'm still in bed while DC are downstairs on the Xbox. I will get up in a few minutes and start DS aged 12 on his school work. He refused to do any for a while so he is behind but he's getting into it now with some help.

I will carry on doing jobs round the house, today is probably sorting out clothes and cleaning the bathroom along with the endless meals and snacks we seem to be having. Not in work until Tuesday (teacher)

WhatHaveIFound · 08/04/2020 09:23

We'd just had breakfast and after coffee DH and I are off for a short cycle.

The rest of the day...

Make some chutney (been planning on doing this for ages)
Make a cake
Nag DS/DD to get their homework done
Clean bathroom/ensuite
Change our bedding
Tidy up the garden
Phone my mum (have been doing this every day)

I'm finding lots of things to do. Yesterday we sorted out all our dvds as we still had loads of young kids ones and ours are now teens.

RiftGibbon · 08/04/2020 09:24

A bit of light schooling for DC.
Some gardening. Might build a bug hotel.
Sort a kitchen cupboard.
Do a lesson from my online course.
Make pizza tonight.

Musicalmistress · 08/04/2020 09:26

Officially it's Easter holidays here so DD & OH having a long lie. I'm heading into school soon as I've volunteered to help give out free school meals in our school. Later DD & I will go for a walk, OH will go for a cycle. I've downloaded some new books on my kindle so if the sun is still out this afternoon I might sit in the garden to read for a while.

hauntedvagina · 08/04/2020 09:27

Boys are already on second breakfast, DH upstairs working. Probably go for a walk, home for lunch, school work in the afternoon, a trip to the butchers, doorstep chat with my parents, play in the garden.

Not too much of a bad day really.

pitterpatterrain · 08/04/2020 09:28

Got up at 6 did a 30 min online exercise vid
Got the kids up, DH took over for brekkie
Started WFH at 8, will stop at 12 to be with DC then re-start at 3 with DH taking over
Finish work at 6 and hopefully not have to do too much after the kids are down to sleep
Then sleep

raffaroo · 08/04/2020 09:32

Same as you op I shall be attempting to paint the fence with the help of my 2 year old. It's been an ongoing project over the last 12 months with many stops starts and interruptions but hopefully today's the day! 😁. After that I'm thinking we may have a picnic lunch in the garden and play in the sandpit.

Dh is still working and my eldest will be playing against his friend on the PlayStation all morning. Later I'll take the dog out and try to do some beginners YouTube yoga as I'm determined to learn.

If the kids get bored I've got a box of cupcakes waiting to be made but I keep putting off doing them, saving them for a rainy day emergency activity.

troppibambini · 08/04/2020 09:32

I'm going to
do an hour of school work with the kids in a minute,
Have a tidy up and put some washing on
Get some craft out for the kids
Touch up the bits I missed on the fence I painted yesterday
Possibly paint the gate
Maybe wash the car with the kids
Make dinner
Write a shopping list I need to go tomorrow

mynameiscalypso · 08/04/2020 09:33

I was up at 5.30 with DS although he went back to sleep for a bit after his bottle. Just down breakfast (we're a few weeks into weaning) and he's now having his morning nap. We've got an online Pilates class at 10 (he goes in the baby carrier for it) and then the day stretches in front of us. We'll probably FaceTime the grandparents a bit later. I've got some eggs that need using up so might make a batch of cookie dough for the freezer to bake next week once DH has finished Lent. That should fill half an hour or so.

IggyAce · 08/04/2020 09:34

Clean the kitchen
Mop floors
Load of washing
Put clothes away
Hoover
Make biscuits with dcs
Spend too much time on my phone
Walk
Watch a movie

Taddda · 08/04/2020 09:36

@elQuintoConyo I'm jealous of your day! Grin

1066vegan · 08/04/2020 09:36

This is my first week of lock down. I'm a primary school teacher and went into work for the first 2 weeks but I'm not on the rota for the holidays.
Still getting used to it. I'd normally be off work now anyway but it seems really odd not to be popping out.

I've spent most of the last few days gardening. Looks like another nice day ahead so more weeding and pruning. There's more than enough to keep me busy for the rest of the Easter holidays.

Found some rhubarb buried under the weeds yesterday and made a crumble. I've also been inspired by the be-ro thread so I might dig out my book later and do a bit more baking.

teenagetantrums · 08/04/2020 09:37

I'm still working but day off today. So done two loads of washing. Getting dressed in a bit and going to do some shopping.
Then catch up on TV, phone my adult kids and just relax. Got early start tomorrow and 12hour shift.
