What are your plans today?

I am curious how everyone is filling their time. In my house, my partner is at work today (NHS), left at 6am, home at 8pm. Teenage son will probably surface by 2pm and lounge round the house, facetiming his friends/girlfriend. I am planning on painting the fence in the garden with the 'help' of my toddler. Also need to order some presents for teenage son's birthday next week.
I am still working 2 or 3 days each week but I am trying to do some DIY while at home. What about you, any plans today?

I’m still in my pyjamas, eating Nutella straight out of the jar.

I can’t get going today. I have a load of laundry that needs to be done. The five year old is playing on the iPad and the baby is amusing himself in the playpen so enjoying a rare few minutes peace until one of them starts moaning.

Braving the supermarket for a shop for 7 days. Exercise. Walk. Read. Pour gin. Make a curry.

ZaZathecat · 08/04/2020 09:52

I think I might get out my little-used steam mop and have so 'fun' with the attachments.

Bluesheep8 · 08/04/2020 10:00

WFH 8 til 4.
Go for a walk
Ring family
Make and eat tea.
Have a bath
Watch TV.
Same as yesterday, same as tomorrow.

I forgot our most exciting 'plan' for the day... We need to retrieve a fish finger from behind the cooker.

Kim82 · 08/04/2020 10:04

Both dh and I have the day off, he’s currently doing a jigsaw in the kitchen and I’m just about to jump in the shower and get dressed. I’m going to do some washing, clean the house then get the 3 dds to get showered and dressed and get them (including dh) out in the back garden for some fresh air. I’m going to plant some seeds with the 5 year old and then No doubt lounge around bored and try to find something to entertain us all - no idea what yet. Then we’ll make dinner, stick the youngest in bed and the rest of us can watch a film.

I've been up since about 6am, couldn't sit in bed any longer, so I came down, got a pot of fresh coffee and sat in the garden! It was wonderfully peaceful, although it'll stay that way most of the day I guess!

I've made a cake, to enter into my schools virtual bake off. I'll decorate it tomorrow.

Sitting doing a bit of crochet for now, with more coffee and I might paint a chair. Really ought to treat these lovely hot days, as a bit of a holiday. I work in a school, so theoretically it is my holiday time!

I was sitting peacefully in the garden earlier, having a tea break from the gardening. It was lovely listening to the birdsong. Unfortunately the seagulls have now woken up and are drowning out the songbirds.

Ipadipod · 08/04/2020 10:47

I’ve started a new garden project, did some washing in between waiting for the paint to dry. Just having a coffee. Might run the hoover round . Going to balayage dd’s hair later.

LaneBoy · 08/04/2020 10:49

I’m a bit miffed as I probably won’t manage our daily walk, did something to my foot yesterday. I’ll try and get some sun/air in the garden though, I’ll take my book out. And go on the exercise bike assuming that doesn’t hurt too.

I need to read something a friend sent me as she’d like suggestions/constructive criticism.

Hoping to do some crafty stuff as well - trying to make some simple games and activities for my youngest as it keeps me busy and stops me buying loads online

Should probably do some decluttering too Hmm

How are you finding lockdown? I don't mind the more relaxed way of life, I know where my teen is all the time(!) and I am not having to give him lifts all the time. I am still working 2/3 days though so have a balance- would maybe find it quite hard if not. Although I have had my hours cut by a day a week, which is annoying- I would be better off if I was furloughed at 80%. Obviously worried for my partner who works in a hospital, also parents and in-laws.

So far I've got some washing on the line, some more in the machine, and am waiting for dd1 to magically separate herself from the oversized hoodie she lives in so that it can go in with a third load.

I think I might take down the living room curtains for a wash too, and maybe mop in there.

Both girls are watching Youtube in bed at the mo, so when they get up we'll go in the garden (and then tell 13yo dd1 she can't vanish back inside for a while )

Dd2 has spent hours out there the past few days so I expect she'll do the same today...all with a running commentary & stopping to look up various insects she finds on google.

We might do something crafty later, or I might start cutting pieces to repair my advent calendar (yep, I know it's April). It's almost as old as me; my mum made it for me from felt.

I'm also going to have a proper look at the scrubhub info my friend's just sent me. I don't think my little overlocker's up to scrubs (only a little, cheap, machine) but maybe there's something else I could do.

DonnaDarko · 08/04/2020 11:32

Trying to entertain DS all day! It's like a never ending cycle. I feel like this is week 700 of the lockdown lol.

Did yoga this morning
Then we did colouring in
We've just had lunch and we're watching paw patrol
The weather's nice so this afternoon we're going out to the garden to kick a ball around

Then I'm not sure what else we're doing.

I'm so fucking bored lol

DH off to work at 7.30am (NHS) back around 5.30pm. I'm on furlough. DD 12, and 7 mth puppy at home.

Taken car to local mechanic on a farm, posted some letters at farm shop. All 3 been out for a nice long walk, middle of nowhere, don't see a soul.
Going to clean kitchen, have lunch, read for a bit.

Would like to do some projects round the house but dog very needy and naughty at the moment. Eats anything he finds on the floor and surfaces he can reach. Can't let him off lead in garden because he's found holes in the fences (5 acres of rustic woodland) and goes running off into neighbouring fields - I'm frightened he's going to get shot if he worries sheep. Although DD was mad to get him, the hard graft is down to me!

Whattheduck · 08/04/2020 12:40

Day off today (NHS) so took advantage of the NHS shopping hour and did a shop (haven’t been shopping for nearly 3 weeks as we were self isolating) managed to get in and out pretty quick
Sat in the garden and had a coffee and a hot cross bun then helped dh varnish some old deckchairs that were in the shed they look great now
Dd didn’t get up until 11.00 she’s emptied the dishwasher and is now sorting one of her cupboards out in her bedroom
Dh is doing a Skype meeting in his office so I’m having another coffee and watching tv then once he’s finished I’ll hoover downstairs
Dh is going to pick up an order from the butchers this afternoon then we’ll just Potter about at home

Bluewavescrashing · 08/04/2020 12:46

Got up about 8, made fried eggs for breakfast, showered. Nagged kids to get dressed

1 hour of school work with them

Put away shopping from farm shop delivery

Made Easter egg wreaths with DCs

Now watching Trolls World Tour. Will have a walk later.

MinkowskisButterfly · 08/04/2020 13:10

We got up ar 8.20 when United utilities came to fix the very large hole in my garden from the pipe repairs a couple of days ago. Got dressed and we have done "lessons", just about to have lunch and then going to allow disney+ to babysit so I can try and do some work. DH is at work - left at 4.30 will be home about 5 ish. Dd1 (17) has just surfaced and is playing on her tablet. We are doing online ballet class later before tea.
