This doesn’t look normal does it? Pic attached.

I posted about a week ago for advice. My stomach has seemed really bloated for the last few weeks. I have been on iron tablets so I stopped taking them a week ago to see if that was the culprit but my stomach is still like this.

I’m getting really worried about it. I do have a history of health anxiety and I have no idea if I’m completely blowing this out of proportion. Ordinarily, I would just visit the GP but DD is high risk at the moment and my DH is working away so I’m scared to take her (and her younger sister) along to any appointments.

I know bloatedness often reduces overnight but this is me now at 5am.

I’m just really worried 😟

That looks completely normal to a relaxed breathing out stance to me, don’t worry

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 06/04/2020 05:08

Does it go down at all?

If not, I would phone GP and get checked just to be sure. You aren’t wasting time xx

PieceOfMaria · 06/04/2020 05:16

Are you constipated? Could you be pregnant? It doesn’t look particularly bad to me but you obviously feel it’s abnormal for you.

I'd ask about constipation or pregnancy too

SinkGirl · 06/04/2020 05:26

Bloating like this is common with bowel or gynae issues. The bloating I used to have from endometriosis with adhesions on my bowel was shocking.

If it’s unusual for you then you should be speaking to a doctor, especially if it’s constantly like this (eg never goes away and comes back but only stays the same or gets worse).

Iron tablets can cause constipation - have you been able to go regularly?

HelloCanYouHearMe · 06/04/2020 06:28

Get an appt with your GP.

Booboostwo · 06/04/2020 06:35

I would see a GP. This does not look normal to me, I think people may be deceived by the fact that you are very thin. To me your stomach looks bloated and if this is not an area where you normally carry weight, I’d want to figure out why this is happening.

emmielia · 06/04/2020 06:55

I would call the drs. They may be able to help over the phone.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 06/04/2020 06:56

Get a GP appointment to go through the options of what it could be and put your mind at rest.

Freee · 06/04/2020 07:28

I do have some movicol sachets. I used a couple last week but maybe I should try taking say 2 a day to see if constipation could be the cause.

I really don’t think I could be pregnant. I really hope not. The thought of giving birth again terrifies me and to be honest, we really don’t have the money to have another.

I do wonder if it could be partly down to trapped wind but maybe I’m clutching at straws.

Cal your GP surgery and get a telephone appointment (which is what most of them are only doing anyway at the moment) you are just going to worry about it otherwise.
Can you take a pregnancy test to rule that out?

SpillTheTeaa · 06/04/2020 07:48

Do you feel full a lot? Have any pain?
There are a number of reasons what it could be. Could be down to your diet.
Not digesting something well etc

Freee · 06/04/2020 08:06

Hmm i wouldn’t say I feel full a lot, possibly a little full the last couple of days. I’m not in any pain either.

OP posts:
safariboot · 06/04/2020 08:09

Do you eat a balanced diet with all food groups in general?

Legoandloldolls · 06/04/2020 08:10

You do look pg, but by your size I'd guess further than 4 months and you would feel pg. I dont think it looks normal. Def see a gp

puds11 · 06/04/2020 08:11

Ring the GP FGS!

GreyishDays · 06/04/2020 08:12

On the pregnancy side, have you been having regular periods?

WrongKindOfFace · 06/04/2020 08:14

Do ring the gp but I do find that iron related bloating takes ages to go down so it’s not necessarily anything to worry about.

PeppaisaBitch · 06/04/2020 08:16

You say you don't think you're pregnant but i would take a test if there's any possibility

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 06/04/2020 09:36

Is it solid? Soft?

Sloff · 06/04/2020 10:12

I am sure I have seen this posted 3 times now, once a good few weeks ago and each time with different photos.

If you are unable to resolve it, isn't it time you saw a medical professional? Continually asking on here is not going to get you the help you seem to be in need of.

Or try a laxative and see if it goes down.

Ahundredpercentthatbitch · 06/04/2020 10:17

I don't want to alarm you unnecessarily OP, but one of the things you should seek to rule out as quickly as possible is ovarian cancer, or less worryingly, cysts. Bloating like this can be one of the signs, so contact your GP as soon as you can and get seen. If this has already been going on weeks I wouldn't wait any longer.

Freee · 06/04/2020 11:05

@Sloff as I said in my OP, I have posted about this a week ago. This is my second post.

@DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou It’s hard rather than soft.

@Ahundredpercentthatbitch I have heard of that being a symptom of ovarian cancer from back when my health anxiety was at its worst. I am hoping I’m very low risk for that. I’m 31, take the combined pill and I’ve breastfed 2 DC. So I’m really hoping it’s something else.

@GreyishDays, I had a period a little while back. I take the pill for 3 consecutive months and then have a break. I have stopped taking the pill a couple of days ago to see if I have a normal period again, no bleeding just yet.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 06/04/2020 11:09

So take a pregnancy test?
