Queen's Speech Bingo

RollingDog · 05/04/2020 14:55

I am making some bingo cards for the Queen's speech tonight.

Can you help me with some words or phrases she might say.

Obviously there will be:

My family
Coronavirus
Stay inside
Exercise
NHS

But I need a few more...

Extraordinary

Unprecedented

During The War

Apparently ‘togetherness’ is going to be a theme, from the woman who got herself and her family out of London as quickly as they could when others were asked not to travel.

I won’t be watching

Philip
Grateful

“We are all in this together”

“Challenging times”

If anyone is going to Waitrose would you mind picking us up a few things?”

Duty (that each member of the public has, she has etc)
Family (mentioning her family history, the Spanish flu and whichever monarch was in charge ruling then)
Love (for family, friends, society, strangers)
Charity (encouraging those who can to help)
The future (will be difficult and won't be the same but there is hope)
Sacrifices (personal sacrifices the public will need to make, the risks key workers and others are going through)
Food
Thankfulness and inspiration (from key workers, armed forces)
Death (inevitable with expression of regret, used to urge others to do their duty and stay in)
Hope (we can do this and the future will be better)
Religion (mention of God and the church)

Pelleas · 05/04/2020 15:12

"those of all faiths and none"

iklboo · 05/04/2020 15:14

ADarkandStormyKnight · 05/04/2020 15:23

Slightly off-topic but why 8pm? Does she think we've all been out all day at the seaside?

Katinski · 05/04/2020 15:32

Looking to the future...

She better not have a new handbag for the occasion.

Pedallleur · 05/04/2020 15:36

You won't hear 'You feckless bastards', my wronged son Andrew, that bitch Markle and her dead MIL,. *pm is the time chosen by the Govt. Speech already recorded. I wont be watching. the words of a 90 something year old monarch are not going to influence me.

Concerned12345 · 05/04/2020 15:37

@ADarkandStormyKnight no she thinks we've all been in the garden if we have one or out on a late stroll or run to catch the last of the rays 😎

viques · 05/04/2020 16:02

bonnieclydesdale · 05/04/2020 16:07

You won't hear her wishing it happened in early enough to keep Harry and Meghan, Brexit or Andrew off the front pages.

Annus Horribilis must be a possibility though.

BiBiBirdie · 05/04/2020 16:08

I wish she would cuss Boris but it's unlikely

Raera · 05/04/2020 16:09

Will she have done her own hair and make up?

In peace time

CuriousCatCatcher · 05/04/2020 16:09

Tolerate noisy neighbours

Gin

HappyHammy · 05/04/2020 16:12

In these challenging and unprecedented times my family and I are
Donating civil list money to pay for Excel hospital
Arranging for our out of work drivers to ensure Duchy Foods are delivered to the homeless
Turning over our fleet of cars to transport essential workers

Choccyp1g · 05/04/2020 16:14

Given her age I'm hoping for "do not resuscitate "

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 05/04/2020 16:16

Spirit - not gin
Blitz - not cleaning the house
God - not ‘s sake
Together - not including me
You all - not y’all a la Meghan

I will be watching though. I took her shilling many moons ago. And I love her like a nan as I have none left.
