We can't take anymore. DH and I are having a holiday in a lovely cabin. Wood burning stove electric, overlooking a beautiful pond with ducks and moorhens. There is decking area with a barbecue. The kids aren't coming as we want a break.

The cabin is at the end of the garden, but unfortunately out if wifi range, but you can't have everything Grin

Our tent is up in the garden. Let's see how many nights we will last!

Alialialiali · 04/04/2020 19:01

WHY CANT PEOPLE JUST FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, was just shouting at a group of youths congregating outside. Enjoy your cabin.

BitchHazel · 04/04/2020 19:02

Genuinely considering building a den in the stoage hut under our communal stair. I'm the only one with a key - armchair, stack of books, coffee and the cat. I could exist quite happily in there for a while.

Cherrysoup · 04/04/2020 19:06

Sounds fabulous, OP! I’ll think of you when I spend time in my stinky shed tomorrow. Something has died and spread out under the freezer. Omg.

soundsystem · 04/04/2020 19:07

Ha we were also considering a holiday up in the loft! We're regretting not having turned our garage in to some other than a dumping ground, or we could have had a trip there!

whatalifethisis · 04/04/2020 19:09

Sat in my summerhouse glorified shed for hours yesterday with my heated throw and a bottle of wine....bliss

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 04/04/2020 19:09

I have booster that means I can use the internet in the summerhouse. [Smug emoji] 😁

Unfortunately said summerhouse is full of stuff! 😢

My DC are currently playing in the greenhouse. It was built by a previous occupant and is very big. We don't have green fingers so don't grow much in there so they are currently sitting in camping chairs in the middle.

Honestly, you should try growing some veg. I’ve recently joined an allotment Facebook group and it’s wonderful. You can grow new onions, carrots, potatoes and other veg, from the cut off bits that you were going to throw out. Get the kids involved (to do all the dirty work) and you’ll have lovely veg. You can repurpose loads of the containers that you’d normally chuck in the recycle box.

I’m going to an 18th Birthday Party tonight!!

That'll be us tomorrow. Most of the day in fact. It's DD's 18th so we have a lot of house party/Zoom sessions planned with family and friends, plus she will continue later on with her own friends too.

Its been a rubbish week. Obviously the isolating - we are just finishing week 3 now. Plus her grandad died earlier in the week too and although we were expecting it it was sooner than expected and still horrid. So tomorrow is all about celebrating. Her nana is staying with us for the duration anyway and she is keen to have one day of celebration after a week of sadness and challenging situations.

So tomorrow is presents, drinks, video calls with family and friends and general nice stuff.

OhioOhioOhio · 04/04/2020 19:14

Yes. Pics op.

undercoveraessedai · 04/04/2020 19:20

@peridito it's a bit half arsed and covered in laundry but I will take some pics when I can :)

undercoveraessedai · 04/04/2020 19:22

Oh and happy anniversary OP!

Brahumbug · 04/04/2020 19:38

Happy anniversary? 🤣. I would live to post some piccies but that would be so outing as so many friends know it. I love the campervan in a bedroom, that is genius. Caravan at the end of the garden sounds brilliant as well😊

Lovely. We're putting up a tent tomorrow, I think.

Kirschcherry · 04/04/2020 19:47

Sounds lovely. We are spending the weekend cleaning and fixing up our shepherds hut as it has had a wee bird visiting it over winter. Once we are done we shall head up the field for a holiday. No electric, no WiFi but a wood burner and excellent views.

agonyauntie2020 · 04/04/2020 19:51

Great idea, OP. I might move the car out of our holiday-flat, clean it up a bit, string some fairy lights, move the wifi modem for super high speed and -lock- invite the teenagers in there...

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 04/04/2020 19:51

I had a Neilson holiday today

Started with a bike ride

Coffee outside in the sun

Then a bit of (table) tennis

Lunch was unexciting but ok

Slept in a hammock

Did no housework

But too much to drink in the evening

Grin love a Neilson/Mark Warner hol

The kids were being entertained somewhere;by their screens/X bix

@LoisWilkersonslastnerve

You’ve just made me go back to my basic training days. 12 (wo)man rooms. No peace anywhere. Like a lockdown after hours.

I used to go and sit in the suitcase cupboard. Through a little tunnel of bags. I listened to a flock of seagulls. Mainly ‘I ran’ (so far away)on repeat. Also Cheney hawkes. The one and only (call me by my name or call me by my number etc). You can guess I found it all a bit of a culture shock!

Thinking on it, I probably wasn’t even alone in there and there was maybe others screaming silently to the music in their head! Grin

I grew to love it. I still love a big cupboard. Smile

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 04/04/2020 21:10

Ah Chesney. He'll know what to do during this crisis. Someone must have his number?

TheCanyon · 04/04/2020 21:33

I was going to put the tent up this weekend but it was hailstones again the other day so surely not warm enough. Though it would be dh and the dc that would be in it, I'd of course need to stay warm in the house with the cat.

We were going to have a bbq tomorrow alongside the neighbours but dh is away to bed all shivery...

carlywurly · 04/04/2020 21:46

Sending my dcs on a camping holiday in Cornwall. (Tent in back garden)

Ijustcameforthecomments · 04/04/2020 22:00

Out touring caravan is coming out of storage next week , from the shed to the drive and we all can't wait. 2020 Holiday will be exotic

soupforbrains · 04/04/2020 22:04

Grin I took a half day holiday on my front doorstep today (I only have a tiny back yard, it’s overgrown and doesn’t get any sun, whereas my front garden is south facing)

Not quite as nice as your cabin but you know... beggars can’t be choosers

gordongopherthe3rd · 04/04/2020 22:06

We're planning a holiday via Wardrobe to Spare Room.

Monkey500 · 04/04/2020 22:14

My tourer has gone on holiday on its own 10 doors down to help a family who needed an extra isolation bedroom. The only one of us that's going to be away at Easter Grin
