We can't take anymore. DH and I are having a holiday in a lovely cabin. Wood burning stove electric, overlooking a beautiful pond with ducks and moorhens. There is decking area with a barbecue. The kids aren't coming as we want a break.

The cabin is at the end of the garden, but unfortunately out if wifi range, but you can't have everything Grin

That sounds amazing!
Please share some photos.
We’d never got round to planning the Easter holidays so aren’t missing anything and I’d not booked any annual leave. With DH furloughed it worked out ok really.
Let’s all make the best of whatever situation we find ourselves in.

alloutoffucks · 04/04/2020 18:12

I am going on holiday for the next month under the covers of my bed.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 04/04/2020 18:14

Oh yes we need a picture of this, sounds wonderful OP

Me I’m drinking champagne 🍾🥂 why because it was my wedding anniversary yesterday and I should be with DH, child free on holiday right not but I’m not...the champagne is numbing the pain

Ellmau · 04/04/2020 18:17

You mean the shed?

(Actually I know someone who lived for several months in their shed while their house was being built.)

Whenwillthisbeover · 04/04/2020 18:18

💐 that’s by way of an apology, i read your first few words and thought “oh fuck off” now I’m like, ‘Go girl, put these flowers in your summer house’ x

Brahumbug · 04/04/2020 18:18

Normally the kids wont go near the cabin, but now we are sleeping in it they want to hang out as well. Bloody typical. Still we have nicked the best beer and burgers for the barbecue.

I'm halfway through converting my spare room into a camper van - so I can go on holiday to the nearby beaches but still be home to feed my cats!

Last year, everyone thought I was a proper weirdo. Now we're all stuck at home, it's genius, apparently 😂

peridito · 04/04/2020 18:22

Undercover definitely need pictures of that ! Or at least a diagram.

Crafting1Queen · 04/04/2020 18:24

Sounds lovely Op, have a great time and don't forget to send us all a postcard Grin

Windyatthebeach · 04/04/2020 18:26

My dh as just found this on our local beach. I asked was it tall enough for a 6'3 man to live in!!.

I've had enough, we are going on holiday.

My DC are currently playing in the greenhouse. It was built by a previous occupant and is very big. We don't have green fingers so don't grow much in there so they are currently sitting in camping chairs in the middle. Quietest it's been all week.

Doyoumind · 04/04/2020 18:28

I think we'll be camping in a week or two, depending on the overnight temperatures as it's actually easier to hook up to electric and put a heater on on a campsite than it is in my garden at the moment as I don't have a suitable extension lead. DC will not tolerate the cold though I would be up for it.

CuckooCuckooClock · 04/04/2020 18:31

I’m thinking of going on holiday to my car.

CuckooCuckooClock · 04/04/2020 18:31

On my own of course

incognitomum · 04/04/2020 18:32

Ooo photo please OP. And I hope you've hung fairy lights?

girlicorne · 04/04/2020 18:32

I'd love to put our tent up and camp out this weekend but instead we have put up a ridiculous 14 ft trampoline that is taking up the whole garden. But the DC are happy!

mumwon · 04/04/2020 18:34

@Doyoumind hot water bottles! you can get them off amazon or argos

TeapotCollection · 04/04/2020 18:37

Gizza job

iklboo · 04/04/2020 18:38

We are going to Argate. Quite pleasant at this time of year - birds singing, tulips and daffodils in bloom. Close to shower, toilets, cooking facilities and entertainment. WiFi range.

(Argate in my accent is Our Gate).

dementedma · 04/04/2020 18:40

We have run electricity and WiFi to our summerhouse and it’s been a blessing to be able to escape the flat we live in and find some space. It’s only small but has fairy lights and beanbags and is a wee haven. Heated throws make it bearable when it’s chilly.

In a similar vein dd2 is locked down, somewhat prematurely with her new bf. Not quite what was planned so early in the relationship but it will make or break them. She has been invited “out” to dinner tonight. a new place called “D’s kitchen” apparently. She is to get dressed up and knock on the living room door at 6.30 for pre-dinner drinks. Awww, sweet!

dubiousdecision · 04/04/2020 18:42

This is such a good idea - I am getting my old tent out tomorrow!

The poster whose husband is in the caravan on his Jonah i am impressed with your open and understanding relationship Wink

daisypond · 04/04/2020 18:43

I’ve seen some posts online of people posting floor plans of their one-bed flats and asking where they can go on holiday within it. People get quite inventive.

Wolfiefan · 04/04/2020 18:44

I have seen people posting they’re off in the camper van or caravan. As far as their own drive. Grin

Afternooninthepark · 04/04/2020 18:48

We’re off with the kids and the dog for the Easter break. Down to Costa del Garden. That’s where our touring caravan is stored, figured if we can’t go away like we normally do then we will stay down the bottom of our garden, in the caravan with some nice food, a few good films, some nice booze and we will bloody well enjoy ourselves☀️🍷 😀

It's our 33rd wedding anniversary today but I'm in Scotland and he's in England. These threads make me smile but very wistful.
