NHS staff need PPE, not middle class wankers clapping on their doorstep.

Doing it too often lessens its impact.

sleepingpup · 02/04/2020 17:15

Mumsnet is often a parallel universe.

expatinspain · 02/04/2020 17:16

Most Spaniards clap their health service? That's quite a claim for an expat to be making What's that supposed to mean? Confused

Dogsaresomucheasier · 02/04/2020 17:22

No! It’s patronising, self congratulatory bollocks. Any constituency that returned a Tory mp had nothing but contempt for the NHS and they can all fuck off back into their holes as far as I’m concerned.

JosephineKarlsson · 02/04/2020 17:23

It's practically become a reverse badge of honour to say you aren't

It hasn't.

HollySideEyes · 02/04/2020 17:24

That's a big part of what I find hard to reconcile. You get what you voted for, it's all too little, too late.

Luckily it's not compulsory.

JellyfishandShells · 02/04/2020 17:30

No

RoyalBankOfFuckThis · 02/04/2020 17:31

Yes.

I wasn't going to last week but my little avenue erupted in applause and everyone waved to each other and it felt... nice.

I've done practical things to aid NHS workers but will still do this.

redeyetonowheregood · 02/04/2020 20:55

@Whoareyoudududu

I disagree. I am am NHS worker, about to go back on the frontline, I .am immensely proud to be so but absolutely don't need people to clap as people like me are just doing our jobs. But, I went out tonight to clap really just to have a moment if commonality in our community. This pandemic is affecting every one of us and a moment to just be together felt like a worthwhile thing to do. But, we were the only ones, the rest of the road was silent! So, there was no bonding.

sleepingpup · 02/04/2020 20:58

Your neighbours were probably on here saying how stupid it is to clap.
