What are your plans for today?

Bluewavescrashing · 02/04/2020 08:01

Groundhog day here but feeling calm and grateful I'm not working today (key worker but on a rota).

My plan is
Get up soon, make sure kids eat something vaguely healthy eg not just biscuits. Feed pets, have coffee.

Bribe kids to get washed and dressed with promise of a creative activity this afternoon-not sure what though. Shower.

Homeschooling in the loosest sense for a couple of hours.

Lunch- probably a strange combination of stuff from the freezer.

Take kids for a walk to see the horses in the field down the road. Mystery creative activity.

Film on whilst I doze for a bit.

Cook dinner--???

Family board game.

How about you?

More or less the same as you. I’m bored to tears, as I expect everyone is.

Cat0115 · 02/04/2020 08:06

Your day sounds great! I'm a teacher so I'll be logging on shortly, then doing Jo Wickes with Dh and the children then it'll be a combination of keeping an eye on work coming in, gardening while listening to R4 or finishing a talking book, overseeing school work... I like the variety! Husband has Gvt job from home so he will be on calls all morning and then he will do homeschool afternoon shift (I'm English he does maths and science).. Rinse and repeat tomorrow!

Inappropriatefemale · 02/04/2020 08:08

Put the rubbish out, do a few washings, do the dishes, go for a wee nap about dinner time, watch some crime stuff on YT, NF & Amazon. Read stuff on the internet and have a leisurely bubble bath.

Bluewavescrashing · 02/04/2020 08:17

Have to say the slower pace of life suits me quite well. I've got a chronic condition which required a lot of resting at home the last year or so. I'm good at pottering!

Still in bed at the moment! Will be:
Get up, have breakfast
Log on, busy at work today, webinar at 11
Lunchtime, have lunch with DH
Work again, horrible scary work call at 5 BUT I’m off tomorrow so just need to get through it
Then put dinner on after the call, Mediterranean chicken traybake
Then at 8 we have a four couple pub quiz with some friends which will be awesome

Tomorrow I have my anatomy scan (21 weeks pregnant today!) so looking forward to that and the rest of the day off. Work has been really busy since lockdown and I’m under a lot of pressure so really looking forward to turning off my phone, even if we don’t do much for the rest of the day!

Lonelykettleshed · 02/04/2020 08:20

I am currently at my desk waiting for my laptop to boot up and will then be working until about 6 or 7. I'll try and fit in a quick walk before dinner and will then have a couple of hours to relax before bed.
Not exciting.

boredboredboredboredbored · 02/04/2020 08:21

Just worked 3x 10 hour days as an nhs nurse who was redeployed, enjoyed my new role but am knackered. Today I will be lazing in bed for another hour then I'll tidy the house. Maybe bake a cake with my Ds.

CherryPavlova · 02/04/2020 08:22

Much as ever but far busier than usual.

Procrastinating about getting up and starting work.
Work until about 6pm when things go quieter.
Walk the dog at lunchtime.
Cook supper and drop some around to elderly neighbours.
Re check emails
Speak to children and in laws.
Cards/Sequence/TV/read.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 02/04/2020 08:24

Phone the farm shop to order veg for three households. Get my elderly neighbour his newspaper. Do some laundry. Continue with my epic anti-limescale campaign. Dust and hoover the front room. Take the younger dog out for a long training session. Make sure DD makes dinner. Possibly family board game or film night.

Oh, and climb the walls a bit. I usually spend a couple of hours a day outside in the countryside and this is driving me round the bend.

This...

Bouncingbomb · 02/04/2020 08:29

Still in bed, it has taken me two weeks to stop getting up at 5:30.

Coffee and at my desk by 9:00 for 7-8 hours work interspersed with chatting to my teenager who is struggling with lockdown motivation. We stop for lunch together for 90 mins, sit outside if it’s not too cold.

I am starting to do things in my garden, wish I could plant things!

DD isn’t interested in board games sadly!

Exercise on rowing machine or bike.

Finish hand sewing a curtain (three triple width ones to go) tonight if I can be bothered.

BadlyAgedMemes · 02/04/2020 08:31

Ummm... plans?

I guess I'll need to take the emptied bin back from the street at some point.
Going to cook a pot of stew for tonight's and tomorrow's dinner.
Do a short dumbbell routine and get some steps done indoors.
Oh, and I have a phone appointment with someone in the afternoon - that's an actual plan that I'm a bit worried I might forget.

I’m lugging 10m2 of quarry tiles through my house and 100m down the garden and am building a base for my greenhouse .

Might go for a bike ride this afternoon.

Will be periodicity checking my work laptop but my work has pretty much dried up so doubt there’s much to do.

gingysmummy · 02/04/2020 08:38

Just up ds1 doing his school work making breakfast for us all dh just left fir work . Will need to do our walk this morning as Asda delivery coming this afternoon . So excited about that been waiting weeks on it. Will do craft stuff with kids whilst waiting in it arriving .im a nurse working again tonight so trying to have a semi relaxed day. As much as you can with a teenager and toddler

IceKitten · 02/04/2020 08:48

Breakfast, feed pets, hang out washing, get dressed.
Work while the kids homeschool and play on the switch / in the garden.
Go for a run with whoever wants to join me.
Supper.
Family movie.
Bed.

MysweetAudrina · 02/04/2020 08:53

Log on for work, get kids up to do school work, get out for a walk with them and the dog at some stage, clean, cook lunch and dinner, put on a few washes, bake brownies with kids later. Same as every day for last 3 weeks really.

Gertie75 · 02/04/2020 09:03

I'm trying to get the enthusiasm to get up.

Then it's breakfast for the kids, try to get them to concentrate on the schoolwork and break up hundreds of arguments.

Also walk the dogs, cook tea then the evenings I play Animal Crossing on my Switch while dh watches some kind of Russian spy type film on TV.

WaterIsWide · 02/04/2020 09:10

I'm up and dressed. Had breakfast with my husband. I went to the study to do his wfh. I made a casserole. I'm about to go sort the potatoes and veg for tonight.

I will then do some on-line exercise sessions. By then it will be lunchtime. I will have lunch with my husband. Tidy up. Write my shopping list for tomorrow. Make apple sauce from the stale apples in the fruit bowl. Update my cv. Consult my 'life admin' list to see what need to be ignored I mean, done next.

Then make a cup of tea and....maybe watch Tipping Point on t.v.

WaterIsWide · 02/04/2020 09:11

Sorry that should have read, 'he went to the study to do his wfh.'

ch3rrycola · 02/04/2020 09:15

I'm on a 12 hr shift at work so keep me busy Grin

Ledkr · 02/04/2020 09:17

@Dollywilde how do you do the pub quiz? I'd love to do that with my self isolating adult kids

BillywigSting · 02/04/2020 09:22

Dp has gone to brave food shopping while I do a bit of phonics and maths with ds.

Been up an hour and had coffee and toast.

Will all do Joe Wicks when dp is back and shopping is put away. Shower after that.

Will probably be lunch time by then.

Will do something creative maybe after lunch and get ds involved in making tea.

Might try and rope dp into playing one of ds maths /English board games with him.

Extra long bedtime story, reading roald dahl to ds atm and he is loving it.

Clean kitchen of tea dishes, set up school work for tomorrow and watch Netflix in bed until we fall asleep.

Pretty much the same as every other day for the last two weeks when I haven't been at work (key worker).

I'm having this week off though, I was meant to be on holiday this week
grumbles

Mintjulia · 02/04/2020 09:29

Ds is officially on holiday and I’m on furlough so:
Me: ironing, weeding the front garden, planting in green house & veggie bed, sorting emails, cooking supper, then probably sewing & watching tv.
Ds: MineCraft, HeggartyMaths, sketching practice

At lunchtime we’ll play football or practice dribbling.
It’s hard to avoid that Groundhog Day feeling. I’m starting to feel like a 1950s housewife Hmm

DJattheendoftheworld · 02/04/2020 09:42

So far we've had breakfast and DS (5) has done spelling and maths while I check work emails. Next up PE for both of us. He has a class show and tell on zoom later. Then a bit more schoolwork and some activities to keep him busy - baking, planting veg, trampoline. I've given up trying to work much during the day as the server throws me out every 5 minutes, so I start work when DH gets home. Who needs sleep?
