I found some gin I didn't know I had

While tidying a cupboard I found some gin! There are some small cans of tonic in the fridge.

Has anybody else found any nice surprises while tidying up during lockdown?

I just can't imagine that happening in my house!

I found a chocolate orange yesterday 😋

I also found some dubious looking Brazilian stuff in a plastic bottle that DS2 brought back from his gap year travels. We sniffed it, but concluded it might be put to better use as hand sanitiser.

I have cupboards like that, too, but have to admit I've got a sixth sense for where the alcohol is hidden!

Apparently it is a type of homemade rum.

Not food but we did discover there’s a whole series of Detectorists we haven’t watched on iPlayer. We’re rationing it very carefully.

I also found a chocolate orange earlier this week.

DS2 needed a shoe box for an online lesson yesterday. He went hunting in the garage and came back with one filled with 4 large bars of chocolate and 5 bags of chocolate raisins which I'd completely forgotten about!

Tidied the under sink cupboard. Found 2 packs anti bacterial wipes, a box of latex gloves and 4 pairs or rubber gloves. All very apt.

I found a bag of pasta shells at the back of the cupboard if that counts

I haven't had chocolate raisins for years. Were they still in date?

All chocolate still fine and perfectly delicious (we tested the bag of chocolate raisins!)

Where are all these chocolate oranges lurking?? We did have 2 before lockdown but they have both definitely been eaten since.

I have found no extra alcohol, but have drank leftover Christmas baileys that I wouldn’t have done otherwise.

Not found anything really and now I’m feeling hard done by.

How long does Baileys keep if it has been opened?

3 packets of porridge oats....I kept thinking we'd make flapjacks, not making them, and then forgetting I'd bought them next time I had that bright idea

Two crates of glass lemonade bottles filled with liquid in the back of the shed behind a shelving unit. DP says its 'porcheen' he brought it over from ireland when he moved over in 2000. It smells like ethanol and made my eyes water 😂

We have investigated our drinks cupboard and are having Crazy Cocktail evenings on a Friday, when we make a cocktail based on what we have found in the deep recesses (me, DH 2 x late teen DCs). Last Friday was Limoncello based. The only rule is that its got to resemble an actually drink rather than something from a student party. I like to think I am teaching my university-bound DS a useful life skill .
