I'm not sure what the F I was thinking. I'm too old for stupid hair mistakes.
Isolation bit me on the butt.

I'd like to avoid colourB4 - if possible. Only because it's full of chemicals and dries your hair out.

Apart from head and shoulders (I'm on it!) what other methods can get rid of crazy coloured hair?

Gotcha, thanks Frequency

TheMagiciansMewTwo I had balayage which was starting to look a bit shit which was why I thought of dying it. The bottom was very fair, the middle was a crap brassy colour and the top part (the blue bit) was my natural colour.
All three, I used Live.

I hate to say it but I had crazy colours. The pink faded but never left. The green stayed forever. I put a brown on and it looked like mud pit awful colour. I put red on and it just kept coming back. I had to cut it all off!

fishonabicycle · 30/03/2020 12:52

It looks fine! And who is going to see it anyway? We're all indoors!

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 30/03/2020 12:53

That is NOT what I wanted to hear!!!! 😭😭

Some direct dyes stain the cuticle of the hair but it's nothing bleach can't fix once the salons are open.

Muddy browns happen when you try to go too dark from a bleached blonde without first prepigging the hair. It's not caused by crazy colour and is easy to fix but it's best left to the professionals. Honestly, op, your hair looks fine and it will fade and can be fixed once the salons reopen.

I'm a qualified stylist btw. And my daughter is addicted to direct dyes. What you've done is nothing compared to some of the messes she's made to her hair when left alone with my kit bag.

SpoonBlender · 30/03/2020 13:04

Throw some more purple over the blue bit, that'll stick better and look decent.

DartmoorChef · 30/03/2020 13:07

I think it looks awesome. Im debating doing similar to my own. I honestly think it looks great on you.

madcatladyforever · 30/03/2020 13:11

No worries, by the time we get out of quarantine in 5 years time it will all have grown out Grin

BaronessBomburst · 30/03/2020 13:11

But you don't look like a prick. It looks fabulous!

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 30/03/2020 13:15

Thanks 😂

Frequency does it help that the blue bit is on my natural colour as opposed to the sections that have been hightlighted? Or is that just as stuck?
I'd just rather not have bleach that high up my hair.

(In order to get rid of it mean)

If it's just the blue you dont like then you could put pink over it all.
Otherwise anti dandruff shampoo, original t gel works also, washing up liquid can also work (but dries your hair out mega),
When its started to fade if you use a max lightening platinum dye that will bleach some of the colour out (but I dont find it as harsh as full bleach) and you should be able to cover it with a brown/mahogany colour, the issue is more around the blue as if you put a blonde or a ashy tone over the blue your hair will have the very very faintest green tint.

But I think it looks lovely! I personally would cover it all with a pink/purple to blend the blue in and cover it, a pink will likely make the blue go purple. Xx

Frequency · 30/03/2020 13:21

It's far less likely to have stained natural hair and colour corrections can be done more easily on virgin hair. If it has stained a qualified stylist can cover it with a colour as close to your natural colour as possible but as I said natural hair is unlikely to be stained.

JamesBlonde1 · 30/03/2020 13:22

No, that's bad. You're just going to have to tie it up until the hairdressers can attend to it. Let's face it you aren't going anywhere in the meantime.

LittleDragonGirl · 30/03/2020 13:26

Just read it all, semi perm colours generally struggle to take to natural hair as it isnt a pouros, therefore colouring it all with another semi perm may not help as the colour will slide off (I've been every colour under the sun for the past 9 years and died many a friends hair), although a purple/pink may tint your roots enough to blend them in - although that can depend on the brand dye and shade Confused.
You could if you want to go natural attempt to fade it as much as possible and then put a box dye over the top, a chestnut/mahogany or brown should work or if you want to go for something fun but less extreme theres some lovely permanent purples and reds or brown tinted with purple/red which should colour purple/pink easily enough.
If the blue is as minimul as it looks in the picture it should cover easily with a box dye

thesunwillout · 30/03/2020 13:29

Original head and shoulders. I'd probably focus on the blue bit. Put it dry hair, rub it in, be careful of your scalp.
Vit c crushed up normal tablets are better than evervescent ones, as they fix alot and can aggravate your scalp.

goingoverground · 30/03/2020 13:38

In my experience, well technically DS's experience, the blue pigment fades to green pretty quickly but then stays forever. He used the temporary stuff last summer for festival season and it is still lingering. Sorry, probably not what you want to hear Blush The temporary dyes won't damage your hair though so it's definitely worth trying a pink/natural temporary colour over the blue bits to fit better with the rest (that looks amazing) as a temporary compromise. Then you can get it sorted professionally when lockdown is relaxed.

Or you could contact the dye manufacturer's customer service for advice on covering/stripping the colour.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/03/2020 13:40

I'm jealous. I love it!

thesunwillout · 30/03/2020 13:52

Oh ignore my advice with the head and shoulders, didn't read properly!

Izzabellasasperella · 30/03/2020 14:05

I love the pink and purple. I'd be tempted to put a dark purple on the blue bits. I have used colour b4, it didn't dry my hair out but the result was very patchy.

lamppostdog · 30/03/2020 14:08

I love it, I was pink last week and purple this week. You can always dye over it with dark brown

Falacy · 30/03/2020 14:16

My cousin is a hairdresser and when I had an unfortunate run-in with blue hair dye as a teen she used Fairy Liquid on it.

This is years ago but something to do with mineral salts (can't remember if that was in the dye or in the fairy liquid).

Either way it lifted enough of the colour for a mild bleach bath.
