If you didn't stockpile

What do you wish you had? I'm gagging for some tayto cheese and onion crisps. They actually had them in the supermarket when I went a few days ago but I forgot them and I would have had to walk past three queues of people to get them (I only remembered when I was in my own queue). It would be irresponsible to go to the corner shop for some so now I'll have to wait til my next shop.*

*Obviously I will buy a reasonable amount of crisps and not every packet available. Probably.

Monster munch, quavers, wotsits, gin, breaded prawns, salted butter - amazing on pasta

Badassmama · 29/03/2020 23:28

Omg those are the best bean burgers ever.
I’d get them and a load of tonic water as I have none but lots of gin 😭

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/03/2020 23:34

Now I want monster munch too. But not the stale ones Sad. I discovered the 70% dark chocolate I bought for baking a couple of month ago is really good, and I don't eat it quite as quickly as milk chocolate so it'll last me a little longer.

Cheese and crackers would be good too. It's going to be hard to wait until I actually need to go shopping at this rate.

Potato cakes. Fnished my last pack on thursday and usually have more in the freezer but there hasnt been any in the shops (that i have visited) to stock back up and im proper craving them now.

WhatTiggersDoBest · 29/03/2020 23:39

Tayto beef and onions. OH ate the last of them.
Nappies, although I've bought reusable ones that I'm struggling to get to grips with haha. I refuse to pay £9 for one bag of Pampers which is all I can find anywhere around here.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/03/2020 23:42

Tayto beef and onions what the actual fuck are these??

DropZoneOne · 29/03/2020 23:47

Pasta, we usually eat 3 pasta meals a week - we're down to a bag of macaroni where we would normally have 5 or 6 different types.

Quorn - can't find mince or pieces anywhere

Nut roast

Calpol - although DD is 12 and I've finally got some paracetamol so she can have the tablets if she needs to, she just prefers liquid

That's about it - everything else I've managed to buy, albeit most this week rather than in the previous weeks. I'm hoping supply will improve again by the time i go shopping next

Starlight456 · 29/03/2020 23:49

Tomato pesto. I paid about 3 times what I usually pay at Tesco express.

Pencilplantironingboard · 29/03/2020 23:49

I have Brie but no crackers. I want crackers now.
I need to go to the shops tomorrow because I have to buy for so many people.
Now I want crackers and coffee ice cream.

GiantKitten · 29/03/2020 23:52

@AWaspOnAWindowReturns
Linda McCartney sausages. Literally nowhere near me had had any in stock for over a fortnight. They're practically all I eat usually 😭

Our Lidl had some last week Smile

thaegumathteth · 29/03/2020 23:57

Definitely pasta and also flour. I have everything else for baking which is annoying.

Not apples though - accidentally had 32 of them arrive on my online order. 4 packs of 8. I only wanted 4 individual.

I didn't stockpile but live rurally and can actually get what I need ad w ed don't have the crowds (apart from aldi and Tesco- all local spar shops etc have stocks of most things)

Also found a bottle of gin I stashed away for Christmas

demelzaaa · 30/03/2020 00:01

I do wish we had some green vegetables and bananas.

stickerqueen · 30/03/2020 00:02

the only thing I wish I'd have stockpiled is nappies. ds can only use 1 brand without getting a rash and we not been able to get any for him and we have run out now, hubby got him some pampers for the time been and ds now has a sore bum.
I can do without my favourite foods and snacks.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 30/03/2020 00:03

VaggieMight I'm pretty sure there's no shortage of treats in my local shop, just in my house. Sad Also need more red wine. Just in case. It's too cold for gin right now.

Just supernoodles. I love them. Everywhere is sold out.

catfeets · 30/03/2020 01:29

@BuzzShitbagBobbly it was a grab bag too - was so looking forward to scoffing the lot really quickly. I'll confess I did eat 4 but they tasted shite and had to be binned.

ParkheadParadise · 30/03/2020 01:53

I've got a sweetie cupboard that is always well stocked.
DH always says that I buy a load of shite when I go shopping, that was until he has been home all week.
Everytime I've looked at him he's been eating something out the sweetie cupboard.
I've got
Percy pigs
Cola bottles
Strawberry mushrooms
Chocolate bananas
Mars bars, Peppermint aero, Toffee crisp, Caramac and Maltesers.
Hula hoops, wotsits and quavers.
I'm running out of essentials, so will need to brave the supermarket at some point unless we just eat all the junk food.

Deathraystare · 30/03/2020 07:32

Deffo bog roll. Luckily one of my flat mates has a 9 roll pack from Sainsbury's. I could only manage a 4 roll from Tesco (same bloody price!!!)

Risotto. Pasta - which is strange as I am not over fond of it. This is because when I was on job seekers allowance I lived on the stuff!

Fresh veg. Obvs I couldn't hoard that if I wanted to.

But generally really desperate for Risotto and chips! I can't put frozen ones in my little freezer box and cannot get fresh spuds either.

Deathraystare · 30/03/2020 07:33

Unfortunately on the news this morning they mentioned about not producing enough food to last out so there will be more hoarding I think.

SnuggyBuggy · 30/03/2020 07:36

I stockpiled for Brexit (responsibly, little and often over a long period) and there is still stuff I wish we had.

Bluewavescrashing · 30/03/2020 07:40

Chips and butter

Marieo · 30/03/2020 07:45

Galaxy chocolate, none to be found last week when we popped to the shop. Obviously don't want to go back just to check, but I wish I had some in the cupboard. Very first world problems I know. Most of the actual food we have isn't my first choice but it'll do!

Staypositivepeople · 30/03/2020 08:16

There is 6 adults (3 older teens)in my familY ,Plus Young teenager that eats as nearly as much and I’m feeding them all
So my weekly shop is someone else’s stockpiles
The limit of 80 items is worrying me ,I’ve 2 with autism, who can’t be left alone together in the same room ( no joke we have ss involved ) so I can’t get out to the shops.
Luckily I have a Tesco shop booked ,but only 80 items So I’m slightly worried how we will manage ,Tesco are not release ing any more slots by the look of things ..
I need a diet ,so I will start that ASAP to save food for everyone else
