I've done some today from YouTube. Really relaxing. Plus I've got a bit stiff lately and it's helped.

i am doing something called 30 days yoga with Adriane and it helps....not too long and not too difficult. She explains quite well.

incognitomum · 29/03/2020 17:27

I saw those I'll have a try tomorrow.

I keep meaning to try - I usually do a Pilates class each week.
Do either of you have links to those yoga vids please? (Maybe the Adrienne is easy to find)

I do yoga with Tim every day, he's on YouTube and he's brilliant. And hot.

incognitomum · 29/03/2020 19:27

Yoga with Tim sounds good Grin

@ErrolTheDragon i just searched for easy yoga. If I start easy I'm more likely to keep it up.

That sounds wise.Grin

I’ve downloaded the Down Dog app - it’s free for all until May and free for longer for NHS staff

There are different levels and different types of yoga so might be worth looking at as it’s free for a while.

incognitomum · 29/03/2020 19:31

Yes if I go all in I'll feel sore, miss a day and you know the rest Grin

Yes I have a class with my regular yoga teacher through Zoom. I've been doing pilates a while but yoga really does do something different.

Spam88 · 29/03/2020 19:34

I like YogaTX - they have loads of videos on YouTube for different levels. Lots of general ones as well as some to target more specific problems, generally range from 15-30 minutes. They've added a few more gentle relaxation/relaxation ones recently as well.

incognitomum · 29/03/2020 19:34

I've done a few pilates classes at the gym. I think I prefer yoga tbh.

I used pre C19 to have two Pilates classes a week, I've started yoga with Adrienne for a week now.
I miss Pilates but yoga is good for recentering in times of stress.

Dollywilde · 30/03/2020 00:27

I’ve been surprised at how useful I’ve found yoga. Was doing it at classes for pregnancy before, now doing the same class via zoom but it’s been doing wonders for making me feel calm Smile

incognitomum · 30/03/2020 09:46

It's good to hear it's helping Smile

I have been doing Yoga with Adrienne for ages - I found the initial 30 days a bit severe but some others are a bit more gentle.

I'm now doing some physio-instructed pilates exercises and my regular Pilates instructor is uploading videos for subscribers which is a great way to keep her business going.

Fishlegs · 30/03/2020 10:38

I’m doing Yoga for Weight Loss with Sadie Nardini on DailyOm. I love it, it’s keeping me sane.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/03/2020 10:47

I've just done my first ever yoga video, an Adriene one. It was also the first time I've ever tried playing a YouTube on the tv, not yet sure how to find my way around and hit on the 'beginners mind' which wasn't exactly meant for beginners but having done most of the moves in Pilates classes wasn't a bad place to start.

DH was thinking of trying yoga, but he's not as flexible as me - I'm not sure blokes bend in quite the same ways. Does anyone know of any suitable for a 50 something male beginner?

🙏 Smile

incognitomum · 30/03/2020 10:57

@ErrolTheDragon that's great news. Tell dh to just search for beginners yoga. It's the same for everyone. I'm 51 and am fairly flexible normally. My dh manages yoga and he's older.

@ErrolTheDragon I just had a look. Man flow yoga might be ok?

GoldBoo · 30/03/2020 11:02

I’ve been trying to do 30 days of yoga with Adriene, I find that I can manage all the positions but about halfway through I start feeling really sick and then have to lie down afterwards. Is this because I’m not used to it and it will pass? Does anyone else experience this?

incognitomum · 30/03/2020 11:04

@GoldBoo do you have any digestive problems? I haven't heard of this but am sure someone will advise?

OP posts:
BuzzShitbagBobbly · 30/03/2020 11:05

Yes! I am doing several.
(I don't like Adriene for some reason, she gets right on my nerves. So I have found Sarah Beth instead)

I have a FT desk/computer job. This one works wonders in just a few minutes:

I also do other fitness and last night did both of these to alleviate some niggles and calm my mind:

incognitomum · 30/03/2020 11:16

Thanks @BuzzShitbagBobbly
