What are you doing after lockdown?

When Boris says we aren't grounded anymore, what will you do first? We have had lots of time to think and make plans and I'd like to know what you can't wait to do once the country has stopped going completely insane.

I'm going shopping, in the town centre like the good old days Grin I may even have my nails done. I'm going to book the eye test I should have had last November, and I'm going to finally do the tip run! What will you be doing?

Hug my mum. She's only a mile away and I see her normally several times a week. No we are just doing texts and calls and she's been down once a week to collect t the shopping I e ordered for her and leave by the door. We chat a little once ages a safe distance away. She'll be desperate to cuddle ds. FaceTime just isn't the same but needs must.

HouseTornado · 29/03/2020 17:35

Haircut.

Birthday lunch with DP (we'll still be on lockdown for his in April).

A whole day to myself when DS goes back to school.

Work like buggery to get my PhD on time.

HarrietThePi · 29/03/2020 17:35

I really don't know what I'll do but imagine everything open will be busy! I need a new job having lost all my income sources to Coronavirus, and for obvious reasons can't find anything at the moment. I'm considering using my savings towards some sort of qualification but only want to do this for something that will pretty much guarantee employment afterwards so I'm at a loss.

RhymingRabbit3 · 29/03/2020 17:37

Taking my baby to visit all the family for the first time starting with my parents. I hope she wont be 6 months old before they get to meet her Sad

Dollywilde · 29/03/2020 17:38

While obviously I’m hoping this is over ASAP, a part of me hopes that it ends just in time for my mat leave to start, which is going to be 6 weeks before baby is due as I’ve had to cancel all my annual leave and holidays planned prior. So if this finishes at the start of July I will go to the office, do a day’s handover, then spend as much time as possible relaxing and prepping for baby’s arrival. I sincerely hope there will be a few non alcoholic ciders in beer gardens before he/she makes their grand arrival!

PanamaPattie · 29/03/2020 17:39

Anywhere but not Wetherspoons!

motortroll · 29/03/2020 17:40

I have to go back to work full time as we've lost so much income on our business. I've already started but as I'm a teacher it's not terribly taxing atm! I gave up teaching in December "for good"😭

NB yes I know I'm lucky to have work and incredibly grateful for having a contract in spite of school closure (we saw it coming and I jumped back in as quick as possible) but I still feel the same about leaving teaching as I did at the end of last year and this will have a huge impact on my family and my mental health....

Nanalisa60 · 29/03/2020 17:40

Going out to cocktails and dinners with friends!!

Redglitter · 29/03/2020 17:42

Go to see my Mum
Get my nails done Blush
Go out for a family meal then a few days away

Letsnotargue · 29/03/2020 17:43

I’m just going to leave the house for a whole day. I want to sit in the park across the road and not have to go straight back inside. I want to go to the garden centre, and go into town and see all the crowds that usually drive me mad. I’m missing seeing other faces. And I’ll eat and drink and get the tram home because I can.

Pumpkinbell · 29/03/2020 17:51

Take DD7 to swimming lessons !! She loves them and is missing them so much! Then out for T with her and DH 🍝🍦🍷

hairyxmasturkey · 29/03/2020 17:52

Having a street party!

Kalim8 · 29/03/2020 17:55

Hopping on a plane to see my dad.
Seeing other relatives.
Drastic haircut (but I like your long hair! F. Off. My Hair)
Seeing friends (and prodding them to convince myself they are real).
Leisurely browse many charity shops.
Going to the library.
Going to the swimming pool with the kids.
Going to a yoga or pilates class.
Going Out For The Day.
I fancy going riding.

KatherineJaneway · 29/03/2020 17:57

I'm going to the gym then to a friends for a BBQ and lots of wine. My cats will have their own party as I've finally left the house 🤣

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 29/03/2020 17:59

Straight to the garden centre to go wild and finish it off with a massive slab of cake while people watching in their cafe :) Then onto the park to make DS happy!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/03/2020 18:01

Work I hope. I've been furloughed and I really hope the company survives.

Take DS over to my mum's. A big party with my family. Lunch and drinks with friends. Take DS to the cinema and out for dinner. Go to my favourite coffee shop for coffee and cake. Book as many holidays as I can afford. Get my hair, nails and eyebrows done.

Can't wait.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 29/03/2020 18:04

Go to work hopefully and earn a decent enough wage to make inroads on the debt we're going to run up trying to live on thin air.

mitsyblue · 29/03/2020 18:13

Hopefully flying abroad to get married if it still goes ahead 😭

BasilDiffuser · 29/03/2020 18:16

Nails, hair, eyebrows.
My birthday meal that got postponed.
DD’s birthday party that got postponed.
Eating out every day.
I cannot wait to be a teacher again and not sending in work from home.

Bloodybridget · 29/03/2020 18:20

Apart from see all my close family and friends asap, I want to go out for a coffee. DP and I usually do this a few times a week.

SpiltMilk100 · 29/03/2020 18:29

Depending on when this all ends, having family and friends round, possibly for a nice BBQ or something to meet the new baby.
Taking our DS back to his tennis and swimming lessons that he loves so much!
Going to IKEA to buy all the furniture that we're not able to get delivered at the moment.
Might treat myself to a haircut too.

Lonelycrab · 29/03/2020 18:51

Fish n chips with gherkin, pickled egg and lashings of mayonnaise.

Easily pleased, meGrin

ohmyword20 · 29/03/2020 19:12

100% seeing my mum. We're close but are not physically demonstrative, no hugs or kisses in my family. I'm going to give her the biggest squeeze.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 29/03/2020 19:14

Hug people.

Wannabangbang · 29/03/2020 19:16

Be glad to still be alive and see all my family and visit a cafe for a proper slice of cake and a latte. Have a lovely day out with my kids.
