I got a 'person at risk' letter for DD today so really hoping I might get a delivery.
I've got through the part where you enter your last order number, and your nectar number but now been on hold for 20 mins.
At one point the message did give another number for vulnerable people but they only quickly gave it once and I missed it..

Yes. After 33 minutes. They will only register you if you are over 70. If not you have to fill in the government form and wait for them to contact you. I have been told to stay in for 12 weeks but they couldn't care less.

ExclamationPerfume · 28/03/2020 18:46

The number is 08009534988.

Cohle · 28/03/2020 18:50

Yes. But I was on hold for 3 hours and 40 minutes first...

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 28/03/2020 19:02

My boss was on hold for 4 hours then they put her through to another department where she was on hold for 2.5h

She got there in the end though!

If you do it using the Gov website link-up, it seems easier.... we did it for DP's dad, put his NHS number in and the next day he got an email giving him priority access, and some slots available for two days later.

froggers1 · 28/03/2020 19:08

What's the Gov website address? Want to do this for elderly relatives

ExclamationPerfume · 28/03/2020 19:12

www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable

Cohle · 28/03/2020 19:20

The government web link only works for those resident in England.

If you live elsewhere in the UK you still seem to have to try and get through on the phones. If you're elderly there's an automated system but if you're vulnerable you need to speak to someone and therefore hold for ages.

ExclamationPerfume · 28/03/2020 19:24

I filled in the government form on Monday and have heard nothing since. The system is not working.

bucketofgin · 28/03/2020 19:25

We are vulnerable but not in the shielding group. We got through on 23 march by calling ‭0800 052 5500‬ instead of the advertised number (someone posted it on twitter). Maybe try that?

bucketofgin · 28/03/2020 19:26

PS took 15 min to get through.

That was after 95 attempts to call the other one...

SavoyCabbage · 28/03/2020 19:30

My mam rang the numbers at 10:30pm last night but got nowhere before they closed at 11:00. She didn't know they were closing so had another crack at 11:15pm and got a robot lady who asked herbDOB and nectar card number and they rang her back today.

bucket and did they accept you?

Dd and I are both in the vulnerable list (not the letter, shielding group) and I've not bothered because I thought it was only for the extremely vulnerable?

I went to Tesco today-thankfully just click and collect. But the stress of being exposed sent me into a panic attack (I realise I'm a twat and lots of you are working and keeping us going Sad).

bucketofgin · 28/03/2020 19:33

Yes they did. DH has asthma and I have a chronic illness that means I have a weak immune system and am medically unable to drive. They added us no problem. Really sad it’s been so hard for so many people.

bucketofgin · 28/03/2020 19:34

This was when it was for older, disabled and vulnerable not just shielding.

user1471530109 · 28/03/2020 19:46

Ah, thanks. I don't think they will accept us now unfortunately.

11 more weeks of this. And whose to say going out in 11 weeks will be safe.

bucketofgin · 28/03/2020 19:52

Worth a try just in case?

ExclamationPerfume · 28/03/2020 19:52

They aren't accepting anyone new I was just told on the phone.

user1471530109 · 28/03/2020 19:55

Is it only Sainsbury's doing this? The supermarkets I'm actually signed up to and have accounts are Tesco (delivery pass-not much use atm) and Morrisons.

Would it not make sense to deliver to different areas on different days? To increase deliveries? So village A is Monday, village B is Tuesday etc?

fivedogstofeed · 28/03/2020 20:25

Thanks all Smile will keep trying then

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/03/2020 21:17

I had an email from the Sainsbury’s CEO saying (among other things) that they’d had a year’s worth of customer care calls in two weeks.

So it’s small wonder anyone’s having trouble getting through.

Ginkypig · 28/03/2020 21:54

I got through yesterday and they basically "politely" told me to fuck off.

I am disabled and have severe mobility issues which means there is no way I can get out to do a shop and am mostly housebound (but not always completely) but am not in the shielded group and the man on the phone gave me a row for calling the number and refused to add me to any list. He basically while staying polite made it clear he thought I was a piss taker because my name wasn't on his list.

My mother (different town than me and in the shielded group) has been added to the list and is getting a delivery next week.

Peanut55 · 28/03/2020 21:59

My grandfather got through today in Wales. Apparently he is waiting for a text or an email...

Ginkypig · 28/03/2020 22:15

I should add though I was made to think that this was for vunerable/disabled or elderly people when I called I wouldn't have if I had known it was for specific shielded categories.

Gilead · 28/03/2020 22:18

I filled in the form last week but have heard nothing as yet. I am in the don’t you dare leave the house group!
