I know the postal service is under massive pressure at the moment, just wondering what's managing to get through and how long it's taking? I had something posted 1st class on Monday that's not here yet, I wasn't expecting it to arrive the next day or anything but just wondering what a reasonable time scale is!!!

It's all over the place. I ordered something on the 21st which arrived today. My friend ordered something yesterday which arrived today! Both sent by Royal Mail. I guess it's just pot luck.

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 27/03/2020 11:11

Every other day here atm

NuffSaidSam · 27/03/2020 11:13

We're getting post most days, but not sure how long it's taking to get here. We're definitely getting less than normal.

MoiraRose · 27/03/2020 11:22

Mine seems normal so far, but I don't live somewhere with a large population so maybe it's easier to keep up

HidingFromAVirus · 27/03/2020 11:23

I've had one letter this week. I posted something Next Day tracked and it took 8 days to get there to someone.

Carrie7469 · 27/03/2020 11:24

Got about 4 days worth on Tuesday and nothing since

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/03/2020 11:24

I got my PIP yearly award thing yesterday, and a Farmfoods leaflet!

fiddlethefiddles · 27/03/2020 11:26

Not since Wednesday when one letter arrived. Mostly I only get junk mail anyway and that is going in the bin unopened.
We have been getting the free local paper but I think they should stop deliveries of that except to people who opt in to say they want it.

Kuponut · 27/03/2020 11:29

Yep same as ever (which is usually pretty shite) here.

Katinski · 27/03/2020 11:31

I got that farmfoods leaflet too! I've never shopped at farmfoodsGrin
Letter + info from my drs re: safety during Covid, tells me to keep away from shops for 12 weeksShock Apparently I've got to ask a 'family member' to bring shopping to my door. Family lives in US, so that'll be funGrin

Wotrewelookinat · 27/03/2020 12:31

We’re getting letters on time...and luckily cards as it’s my 3 daughters’s birthdays next week. But amazon order of books for their birthdays very delayed. Luckily they’re old enough to understand.

MrsCastiel · 27/03/2020 12:44

Our postie has been here everyday so far

My ex is a postie in another town and usually works 7-3, 5 on 2 off. They're now working (in his depot) 4 on, 4 off, 6-6. Not allowed to go out in a pair and avoiding colleagues as much as possible

He'd also been told by their manager that the money is in delivering parcels, so they take priority over letters etc. I don't know if that is from RM or his manager specifically.

He's on his knees with it all and as we are seperared he can't see our DS whose birthday is this weekend. I had thought he could come over but he's terrified, as a key worker, of making DS ill. So it's facetime only for now.

UYScuti · 27/03/2020 12:54

yes but less than normal I understand they are complaining about the amount of junk mail which they have to deliver ...and quite rightly too

happypotamus · 27/03/2020 13:47

Yes, my mum posted DC a parcel and we got it. I don't know when she posted it, some time this week, and it came yesterday.

Mizydoscape · 27/03/2020 13:52

OH is a postie and is out delivering today. They are no longer allowed to use vans unless a really rural round so have further to walk therefore not completing every round. Managers have told them to do the best they can as approx 50% of the workforce are off sick. He's prioritising parcels and working 6 days a week with no PPE.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 27/03/2020 13:54

We've been getting post. Our regular postie is out and about with a big mask on.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 27/03/2020 14:10

We had post today, postie was wearing gloves.

user1498572889 · 27/03/2020 14:13

I am still getting post. My husband received a lovely goldish plastic bracelet on elastic today. He has no idea why as he says he hasn’t ordered it. My daughter and I think we may have caught him out with his cross dressing habit. 😂😂😂

PristineCondition · 27/03/2020 14:17

Our posture said he's doing our street for the first time since monday, loads of posties are sick.

Facefullofcake · 27/03/2020 14:22

Yes' it's arriving here.

My PIP review form with a return deadline of 18 April arrived today - no idea how I'm going to sort evidence out and send it back though...

WaterIsWide · 27/03/2020 14:22

I've seen the Postman/Postwoman walk past our house yesterday and the day before. That's because they didn't have anything for our address. Probably the same story today.

FlamingoAndJohn · 27/03/2020 14:24

We seem to be getting normal post.
I posted a card to my mum on Monday and it was there by Wednesday.

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/03/2020 14:26

We are - east central Scotland - no issues here, so far

Wannabangbang · 27/03/2020 14:27

Yes and junk mail. I can't believe junk mail is out for the poor postman to send Sad shouldn't be allowed. Shameful

StrugglingThrough2 · 27/03/2020 14:34

Dh is a postie, out of 60 in his office more than half are self isolating. He’s been doing his normal round but lots not going out, it’s luck of the draw it appears..
