I'm determined to keep positive and keep facing the future. I can't wait to go food shopping without being paranoid of being accused of panic buying. I can't wait to go out and meet up with all the people to whom I keep saying "we need to meet up some time!" I can't wait to return to normal.

Anyone else clinging on to hopes for the future?

MissCherryCakeyBun · 26/03/2020 20:33

Buying my engagement ring Grin
It seems daft to many people I know but I proposed to my OH on the 29th of February and he said yes and we planned to go shopping for a ring but the virus got in the way and with my OH being at high risk we as safely locked down for the foreseeable.

I want to be able to support our local small shops too as they are suffering terribly and without summer tourists? It's going to be a very tough year

TheoriginalLEM · 26/03/2020 20:35

I just want to get through it, it is however forcing me to rethink my priorities.

Hugging my parents,

My child being able to go to school with a full classroom (rather than just the 5 children he's mixing with now)

Promised my child we'll go to a beach and spend the day outside when this is over Star

Hugging my mum. God I miss that. Watching her playing with my baby. They’re playing peekaboo via FaceTime but it’s a rubbish stand in.

Going to the pub for a drink - if it’s still in business.

Going for afternoon tea.

Doing anything I have to dress up for.

Booking a weekend away.

Finding a new job.

Oly4 · 26/03/2020 20:38

Holidays and browsing the shops

playthestation · 26/03/2020 20:38

Nothing. So much has been taken away from us right now I will be simply be happy when the choice returns.

sweetkitty · 26/03/2020 20:41

Going food shopping and the shelves being full so not having to worry about getting food to feed my family.

KellyHall · 26/03/2020 20:41

Seeing friends and family. Luckily our dd's birthday was just before all of this and everyone came so that's still fresh in our minds.

Not looking forward to as much but will probably be done before I see anyone - getting a proper wax done, by a professional!

thequeenbeyondthewall · 26/03/2020 20:46

@sausagepastapot I was going to write the exact same thing. I miss my parents terrible.

I usually see my mum every morning and then again in the afternoon. It's shit.

insertcaffeine · 26/03/2020 20:47

Seeing my grandfather. He's 80 and in isolation. I have underlying health conditions so can't be the one to bring essentials so while DH has seen him every now and then through a window, the closest I get is the phone.

He doesn't have the internet or know how to operate a tablet/mobile so FaceTime is off the table. I want to hug him, to see him play with our DC's again. I just need him to stay safe. He has COPD alongside a high BMI and with his age...well, you get it.
