Not having to see/speak or party app with people I don’t like.

Doing lessons with my child that are interesting for him.

theoriginalmadambee · 26/03/2020 13:51

After self isolating my dd will finally be coming home today, my little family will be together now, Yay 🥰.

Oh and the sun is still shining Grin.

We have a duck couple who have moved onto our pond.
I’m endlessly fascinated listening to DH in his meetings and now know loads more about what he actually does for a living.
My teens want to hang out with me loads.
I have a whole project going on, planning an at home prom for when this is over as DD’s isn’t going to happen and she really wants to wear her dress. I should become a party planner, I LOVE this kind of thing!

OldSpeclkledHen · 26/03/2020 14:46

@Elouera Please leave. This is a room for none of that talk.

Gingaaarghpussy · 26/03/2020 15:11

The shop below me is shut, so no banging on doors to wake me up.

Very few cars, so I can hear people talking nonsense and WhatsApp the latest to my son.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 26/03/2020 15:43

We're all wearing our PJs almost all day so the washing basket has never been so empty.

I can't just nip to the shop when I feel like it so I can't eat loads of chocolate and other crap. My waistline and blood pressure is thanking me.

InsaneProbably · 26/03/2020 15:44

I have a big bag of brand new yarn.
We're having pasta for dinner.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 26/03/2020 15:46

I've realised how much I like my workplace and colleagues.

I live in a lovely part of the world and can exercise in the countryside.

MillicentMargaretAmanda · 26/03/2020 15:55

I had to go to the supermarket today but picked up lovely daffodils which are now brightening my house.

I've never been in such frequent contact with quite a lot of my friends. It's lovely!

73kittycat73 · 26/03/2020 19:05

I'm reading a good book at the moment (Don't always get it but I'm trying. Grin )
Had my food shopping delivered this morning. Delivery guy was very good, not stressed, chatty, stood far back. I thank him. Smile

zep123 · 26/03/2020 20:20

The grass is cut

My last day of work tomorrow as I will officially be on maternity leave Monday, although my boss has given me tomorrow off wfh 😁❤️

Badassmama · 26/03/2020 20:49

We brought stock back from our coffee kiosk that we’ve closed for the foreseeable and it included a massive slab of Brownie!
Also, my baby has the cutest snore ever.

Inappropriatefemale · 26/03/2020 21:26

Community spirit seems to have made a comeback where I live!

^is my second positive as I mentioned a first earlier in thread but couldn’t think of a 2nd at that point.

73kittycat73 · 26/03/2020 23:07

it included a massive slab of Brownie!

Nice Grin

Also, my baby has the cutest snore ever.

That made me go 'Aww.'

I have so many positives. Felt so happy yesterday (despite having to start to self-isolate on Wednesday as DP had symptoms - but he’s now getting better). Here are a few:

  • The air in the big city where I live is cleaner than it’s ever been.
  • The skies are so clear both in daytime and at night.
  • There’s so much less road and construction noise (sensing a theme here) Smile.
  • I managed to finally clean the windows in our flat (it’s tricky as it’s high up and you have to reach out with a pole). So the views - unfortunately not of nature - are even clearer and the flat is brighter.
  • I’m enjoying working from home for the first time ever and enjoying the company of my DP.
  • Even though I can’t see my kids at the moment, I know they are well and also benefiting from the calmness in some ways.
  • I am enjoying my work and not feeling mad pressure to get things done, and getting the chance to work calmly on some longer-term projects.
  • I am happy with my decision to take time away from FB and Twitter and not to watch the news very much. It’s adding to my feelings of calm and contentment.
  • I’m loving this CV-free zone on MN. Smile
GCGayDad · 27/03/2020 10:08

Oh, and I’m back into reading (had lost habit). Now on second of Ann Cleeves’ Shetland series. I recommend!

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 27/03/2020 11:38

People are showing a kinder attitude.

Nature is thriving!

Thelnebriati · 27/03/2020 14:24

I've made loads of new friends online and my anxiety has actually gone down.

Casualbride · 28/03/2020 17:56

I’ve made friends with an elderly neighbour. Never even spoken to her before last week as our paths dont tend to cross. Now I think she’s brill.

Not having to think up excuses not to go to the gym!

ChocDee · 28/03/2020 18:47

In America along with the shocking run on fire arms buying, there has also been a rush to sign up to foster rescue dogs and the like whilst people are working from home.

I love that!

TeenPlusTwenties · 28/03/2020 20:09

DD was struggling with being at school.
She now has some time to 'reset' so it has taken the pressure off a bit.

Holothane · 28/03/2020 20:12

Flat getting cleaned big time decluttering, also new stuff for kitchen in July.

StandardLampski · 28/03/2020 20:13

I've just spent the majority of the last 2 weeks with my kids. I haven't done this since mat leave. I work shifts and normally miss so much.

Mumintherain · 28/03/2020 20:43

The weather has been great this week! Kids have been really enjoying the garden really for the first time this year!

Timetospare · 29/03/2020 10:15

This time last year I had 3 DC living on 3 different continents, grateful that they’ve all been home since before Christmas, and we are altogether.
Everyone mucking in to keep the house tidy and clean.
