What will you be doing during the time you will now have to spend inside

Dh and I are in the vulnerable/over 70 category so will need to spend a lot of the next few months inside so I have started knitting again and he is getting better at online jigsaws.

Dd is also at home as dgs (2 1/2)has had breathing difficulties in the past so she needs to look after him and the childminder has had to close. She is spending the time potty training him. That has not gone well so far but they could be at home for 3 months.

What ideas has anyone else got to keep occupied?

Drinking, cleaning and probably going crazy!

Also, trying not to eat my body weight in crap, as I'm a boredom/stress eater.

Looking after newborn and a 3 year old as well as home schooling the older ones. I have a lot less free time during the week now but weekends will be.a.bit calmer with no activities or socialising. Hope to spend them doing music with the kids or playing in the garden or baking.

I'll be doing lots of gardening, the front garden was already looking gorgeous but I have a couple of projects that I want to do for the back garden.

Were going to decorate our DD's bedroom and we'll deep clean the whole of the house, touch up the paintwork in the bathroom and kitchen and I'm thinking about decorating the hallway as well.

That should keep me and my DH busy for the next 4 weeks I'd hope.

Working from home
Cleaning
Exercise
A bit of decorating
Reading
Learning a language
Dealing with all the paperwork I've been meaning to sort out for months

I’m going to learn Russian, and improve my Mandarin.
I’m also teaching language courses online, so I’m enjoying that.
I’m trying to find some sensory activities to do, it helps. I also have a hula hoop and a jump rope here, and I just ordered some little things so I can try and exercise. I found a live streaming ballet course This morning. I like things like this. I’m in a very small flat though, with not much room and no balcony.

Gardening and decorating mainly, DH wfh for foreseeable future and I am in work for my usual 2 days a week for now

I'm envious of those with free time. I am simultaneously trying to work a full time, full on job under tricky circumstances (no secretary to hand, crap printer, etc) whilst trying to homeschool a five year old and stop the house turning into a pit in the absence of my cleaner. I am literally on the go every waking minute and collapsing into bed at the end of it. If this goes on too long, it will break me.

NoNeedToBeRudeDear · 25/03/2020 07:04

Single mum to 18 month twins. I’m mostly planning on losing my mind!Grin

middleager · 25/03/2020 07:11

Stretched to capacity working, homeschooling kids and makimg sure elderly relatived are ok.

Everybody seems to think I'm on holiday, but for us it's far more stessful than usual with the added pressure of having to focus on work while the world is going to pot.

mindproject · 25/03/2020 07:12

I'm still going to work. So that and cleaning, reading, watching films, hobbies.
