Is anyone up for another game of Mornington Crescent?

I don’t know if we need to apply the rule relating to bilateral diagonal moves or not in the present circumstances...

Are we playing the "Time Machine" rule? In which case I will return us back to Mansion House.

HappyMumsie · 21/03/2020 20:56

It's nearly the Queen's birthday, so Hampton Court.

elephantoverthehill · 21/03/2020 20:58

I have read and pondered this particular game and have even consulted some elders on the next move. We have all concurred that the next logical move will be to Victoria.

Has an updated version of the rules been issued since the suspension of the Night Tube? I feel like I'm flying blind, but hey,

Blackhorse Road

HeronLanyon · 21/03/2020 21:05

Well if we are straying into southwestern railway with Hampton Court (goodness I didn’t ever think I would see a return of the ore war Southwestern Incursion - what memories!) I’ll swing straight from Victoria to Temple

HeronLanyon · 21/03/2020 21:08

Oh hang on Irene I don’t see that synchronous move (departed from same platform three minutes before mine) - what a balls up - I didn’t look at the departure sign. Can I still play Blackhorse Road to Temple. ??

IrenetheQuaint · 21/03/2020 21:23

Unorthodox but allowable in the circumstances, I'd argue, Heron.

Yerroblemom1923 · 21/03/2020 21:51

Pimlico!

elephantoverthehill · 21/03/2020 23:00

Just getting back into the swing of things, of course, Barbican.

elephantoverthehill · 22/03/2020 22:51

Oh my goodness I've killed a thread Shock Kilburn it is then.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 22/03/2020 23:10

Not killed. Merely sleeping. Smile

Shadwell.

Flopjustwantscoffee · 22/03/2020 23:58

I’ve missed a bit, but I think I can move forward with a short hop to tower bridge. Best I can manage in the circumstances

OP posts:
snowy0wl · 23/03/2020 09:33

Let's stick with the bridge theme and head over to London Bridge, being careful not to take any of the ravens with us.

LefttoherownDevizes · 23/03/2020 10:47

Canada Water

Well, Mater has self isolated in the west wing, major in the east and the colonel is occupying the hunting lodge where is taking pot shots at anyone within what he thinks is not socially isolated. That’s about 200 yards. Poor old Smethurst has taken to delivering his port dressed in the old suit of armour. You may have been confused as to why the major is in residence. Well, after the Tobago incident all three of the old duffers has come out and proud about their ménage. No hanky panky of course, it’s just that no one else can stand them for more than a day.
I consulted the colonel (by speaking tube) about the current state of play. He called you all bounders and suggested a triple monty to Swiss Cottage.

Flopjustwantscoffee · 23/03/2020 18:12

I wouldn’t want to offend the colonel (particularly while he is armed) but I would suggest Swiss cottage was not the wisest move in the long run. I may be proved wrong of course. In the meantime I will say cockfosters. Largely because it amuses me to do so

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 23/03/2020 18:42

Don’t worry about offending the colonel. He is apoplectic and turning mauve (do say that in downton abbey stylee) for the young master has been making merry with one of the young scullery maids.

It has to be Oakwood. For he has it. And the colonel is lamenting the fact that he has to rely on a slack handful of those pesky fiddly blue pills and a very, very stiff sherry.

And an old shooting stick.

elephantoverthehill · 23/03/2020 20:28

Mauve you say? Dear Flop? Well off to Belsize Park then before the PM makes his address to the nation.

HeronLanyon · 24/03/2020 11:35

Quick flit to waterloo.
I’m assuming we are now playing LMC rules hastily passed by MC committee. Anticipate a period of simple shuttles between Waterloo and bank with no interchanges allowed and only two per carriage ??

HeronLanyon · 24/03/2020 11:37

lockdown Mornington Crescent obvs.

Flopjustwantscoffee · 24/03/2020 12:20

Of course

OP posts:
Flopjustwantscoffee · 24/03/2020 12:21

In which case I’ll have to go back to tower bridge (sigh)

OP posts:
OneHippoOnThePhone · 24/03/2020 13:17

I haven’t received my copy of the LMC rules yet so. The Secretary is still writing them out with the quill and ink. I’m winging this...

Aldgate

LefttoherownDevizes · 24/03/2020 13:31

Aah, using LMC rules and applying social distancing we should just be able to squeak it to Osterley

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 24/03/2020 14:19

The ultimate lockdown play is presumably the totally deserted Moorgate. Off there now.
