Starting a new thread because the old one is full, I never thought when I started it that it would a) be moved to Classics and b) help so many people.

I’m here if anyone wants their worries looked after for the night.
Just drop them here with me and you get a decent sleep.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 18/11/2020 23:19

I'm signing in for the Night Shift tonight. Bring me your worries, big or small, and I shall corral them so that you can have a good night of sleep. They can join me on my next (2 hours!) terribly exciting (not) Zoom meeting. Will be good to have some company, other than the cat who is not well pleased at the moment. The indignity of a vet visit takes at least 2 days to gain forgiveness.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 18/11/2020 23:46

I’m also available to take some of those worries off your hands for the night.
I’ll snuggle them under my fleecy covers with me and the cat and keep them cosy and quiet for you.
How’s things with you @2018SoFarSoGreat? Have things settled down yet?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/11/2020 00:40

@GenuineKlatchianPottery thank you for asking! Things are beginning to solidify, despite our Orange Toddler's temper tantrums. We now have to hope that he does not start a war or the like before January 20.

it is amazing how paralyzing it has been under his regime. So many of my friends and colleagues shared that they felt that they could breathe for the first time in 4 years, once we knew it was done. I found myself saying "PHEW" over and over again. For about 48 hours.

Bloody furloughed again.... underlying heart condition.

Joking aside, ever grateful to the NHS

Wide awake, will be here for a bit, so bring your troubles over here.

User258544 · 19/11/2020 22:13

Worked through my previous worries. I love NHS nurses, spoke to one today who eased my concerns. Tonight I'm up working late. Happy to mind some worries, will pop them under the duvet with me. I think I'll put some of my own under there too.

HannaYeah · 20/11/2020 04:43

It would help to leave my worries here tonight. Thank you for looking after them. (Please turn them loose in the morning, hopefully they won’t find there way back here.)

reserha · 20/11/2020 06:01

Is anyone awake. I am so scared of being alone forever. I can’t sleep. I can’t see a future just endless days with no relationship. My friends and family aren’t enough, i feel so lonely

2018SoFarSoGreat · 20/11/2020 06:14

@reserha I'm here. I'll hold your worry so you can get some rest. Things always look brighter after a good sleep.

@HannaYeah I've got you now,so you just snuggle up and forget about them. They will feel quite at home here and I've put the big puffy quilt on today so it's lovely and comfy.

HannaYeah · 20/11/2020 14:35

@2018SoFarSoGreat

Thank you so much

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 22/11/2020 23:43

I’m signing in for the night watch, if anyone has any worries they want to drop off for the night me and the furry terror will cuddle them into submission while you sleep.

Frownette · 23/11/2020 00:14

I'm a little hesitant to call this a stalker but we have a man who walks down the alley and rings the doorbell asking strange questions then sits outside in his car with engine running for hours.

Thing is if he said he was homeless/in a difficult situation we'd be sympathetic but the randomness of the situation is freaking us out. He hasn't rang the doorbell tonight but he's back out there in his car.

I'm accumulating police incident references faster than a ferret.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 23/11/2020 00:28

Oh @Frownette that does sound quite unnerving. Stay indoors and lock everything up. then cozy in and get some sleep. You can drop that worry with me and just sleep.

Frownette · 23/11/2020 00:43

@2018SoFarSoGreat yes it's locked up but can't understand why this is happening.

He's called around twice so far and it's down an alley so tucked out of the way asking odd questions like "do you live here?" (well you would think so if someone answers the door) and "who lives next door?"

He tried to pretend he lives here to the police but he doesn't. I'm sure it is a minor thing but I was dismayed to see his car outside again tonight, engine running, techno blasting.

I'm going to check in a sec to see if he's gone.

All ok there?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 23/11/2020 00:44

All well here thank you. Stay safe!

Mimi4567 · 23/11/2020 00:57

I'm awake thinking that i could do more for my 5 year old son I'm a single parent and try my best but I feel like I'm not doing enough...I'm feel so alone and yearn for compainship but I'm really scared bringing another person into our lives... as i had an awful stepdad who abused me physically and in other ways from a young age ...I just feel so alone and my son deserves so much more ..will someone hold my worries for a while please xx

2018SoFarSoGreat · 23/11/2020 01:08

@Mimi4567 that sounds really hard. I'm sorry you feel this. We want so much for our little ones.

Let me take that for now, and you just snuggle up and sleep. It's OK. I've got you now.

Mimi4567 · 23/11/2020 01:29

@2018SoFarSoGreat thank you xx

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 28/11/2020 23:42

For anyone struggling with worries tonight, I’m here to watch them for you while you get some sleep. Just pop them at the end of the bed and me and the cat will guard them overnight.

Flev · 29/11/2020 00:03

Just found this thread, do you mind watching my depression for me for a bit? Not sure I can get it corralled into specific worries, but I'm currently crying and can't sleep, despite knowing that the toddler will wake me multiple times tonight and I need my rest.

DramaAlpaca · 29/11/2020 00:27

Aww @Flev I've got you Flowers I know how horrible depression is, especially when you have a young child to look after as well. I've got that depression for you, now you get some sleep

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 30/11/2020 00:35

I’m signing in for the night watch, any worries or problems can be dropped off here. Me and the cat will take care of them while you sleep.

HannaYeah · 30/11/2020 15:46

I know it’s daytime but can I put some worries here?

I’m so worried all the time about my brother and his daughter and the grandkids.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 30/11/2020 16:04

Hi @HannaYeah I've got you today. You i can leave your worries with me. You just relax and let me hold them. It's OK.

HannaYeah · 30/11/2020 16:40

I thank you immensely
