Every now and then, the whole “you are born with every egg you’ll ever ovulate” thing blows my mind. Means that my Mum also made the cells which made my twins, who were born 2 years after she died.

Another one for space. What else is out there? Will we ever be able to explore other planets? It's just so big!

I used to be really freaked out by the Truman show and wondered if that could happen to someone or if it was possibly happening to me!

There is a forest in Germany with deer. Before unification there was a barrier and electric fence cutting it in half so part was in West Germany and the other in East Germany.

The barrier has long since gone but the deer still will not cross where the barrier was.

None of the deer now are old enough to remember it being there, it's like the deer have a superstition about the ground where the barrier was.

Sat Nav - I can be in my car and get a signal from space telling me there is traffic ahead on a particular road.

And that for the satellite time is passing at a different rate to Earth so has to be 'corrected'.

@aWeaponCalledtheWord

I'm not sure if this will help.

Get some squared or graph paper. fill in some of the squares to make a pattern.

Now get a second person with another piece of squared or graph (the same as yours nut plain) they can't see your paper.

Now starting at the top left go along your paper, if the square is filled in saay 'dot' if it isn't then say 'dash'.

The other person fills in the square when you say 'dot' and leaves the square blank if you say dash.

Your pattern should appear on the other person's paper.

@sashh. That has really helped me re: fax machines!

Regarding the pale blue dot- it blows my mind that I'm on that pale blue dot. It was taken on Feb 14th 1990, so I'm 10 years old, in school or with my mum and dad or playing with friends. Meanwhile, there's a satellite taking a picture of earth so far away we are less than a pixel.

@MrsGrindah it's a puffer fish I believe. Such beautiful patterns Smile

The universe blows my mind. I can't think about what is out there or comprehend it goes on FOREVER!

Space.
How we dont float off in to space.
The oceans, how vast they are and its still not all explored.
It just blows my little mind.

That a peanut isn’t technically a nut - it’s a legume. Hence ‘pea’ nut. The day I realised, whew!

Electrocute1980 · 11/03/2020 14:24

Space - I can't think about it for too long as it just freaks me out!

Also the fact that there are places in the ocean so deep that we know more about space than what exists down there .....Shock

The telephone. Even landlines, never mind Mobile Phones which would frazzle my brain.

How does a person in the UK pick up the phone, dial a unique set of numbers (who records all these numbers so there's no duplicates?!) and somehow, magically , someone in Australia can chat to their mum. Voices clear as day travelling across the world in seconds. HOW?! I tells thee, its MAGIC!!
