As a bit of light relief, what are you looking forward to this weekend?

I'm going to see an old friend and staying over so we can have a proper catch up, eat too much (probably) and drink too much (certainly) Grin

Tonight I meet 4 friends for dinner and drinks

On Sunday DD is on a Scout day and while that means tons of washing afterwards it also means 8 hours of silence and peace.

Bluewavescrashing · 06/03/2020 16:01

I've just started a thread moaning that I feel miserable but I do have stuff to look forward to this weekend.

No school run in the rain for 2 days!

Might take kids to a swimming pool with slides if I'm over this cold, so we can mess around and be silly together.

No cleaning as I've managed to do bits through the week.

Cuddles with my DCs whilst we watch a film. Might splash out on a new one on sky store.

Paperdolly · 06/03/2020 16:10

Another here looking forward to hunkering down with a good film.

gemdrop84 · 06/03/2020 16:15

We're going to the pub for dinner tonight to celebrate me passing my exams and dissertation. I will be having a couple of drinks Grin and I'm off til Monday so I'm looking forward to chilling out with dh and dc.

isittheholidaysyet · 06/03/2020 16:18

That we actually have a pretty free weekend, for a change.

TowerRingInferno · 06/03/2020 16:19

Watching ds play in a hockey match
An afternoon of gardening on Saturday - first day I’ve been free and there isn’t rain forecast in months
Walk with lovely friend on Sunday
Bell ringing on Sunday

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 06/03/2020 16:22

Thank the Lord for a threat that's not about coronavirus! For that alone I will respond!

About to light the wood burner and will settle down in front of the tv later all cosy.

Out for dinner and drinks tomorrow night for my husband's birthday.

And I have a brand new car which I haven't driven much all week, so planning on taking it out for a spin somewhere at some point!

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 06/03/2020 16:24

We're doing a whistle stop visit to Spain for my partner to see his son.
The weather looks warm and sunny and we're doing a sunset boat trip so it feels like a proper holiday.

Bluewavescrashing · 06/03/2020 16:33

@SandrasAnnoyingFriend you lucky thing! Have a great time!

I have booked the fun swimming pool with slides. Kids will love it and they'll get washed in the shower after which is a bonus. It's fun taking them swimming now- as babies and toddlers it was such a chore but now they can swim and shower independently it's great.

I feel better now we can look forward to that.

msmith501 · 06/03/2020 16:34

Our village has a music festival with free music in each of the six ish pubs all weekend. Actually it's less of a good thing as locals will be ousted by randomers sharing a glass of water with six straws

Alittlebitofthis · 06/03/2020 16:54

My parents are watching my child as I have a half marathon on Sunday! Going tomorrow till Monday so 2 nights child free.

DCIRozHuntley · 06/03/2020 16:56

It's my darling DS's first birthday. Pancakes for breakfast.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 06/03/2020 16:56

DH just text me: “we’re going out - be ready 7.30pm - dress up!”

I’m a bit scared but excited!

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 17:09

It’s our third weekend as a married couple. 😊😊

I have nowhere to be so I will be relaxing with a glass or three of bubbly.

I’ve got some elegant new loungewear and slippers and plan to sit around looking sophisticated and enjoying some peace and quiet! 👍

IceColdCat · 06/03/2020 17:12

Takeaway pizza and DVD tonight. Tomorrow my DD's netball team are playing in the nationals!

Allflightscancelled · 06/03/2020 17:19

Takeaway pizza and not much else. Gonna be a quiet one!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/03/2020 17:32

It's DS's weekend with his dad. I'm going to the pub with family tomorrow, I haven't seen some of them for almost a year and I'm looking forward to it. Probably be feeling a bit worse for wear on Sunday and will go for a McDonald's breakfast, yum!

Lifeisabeach09 · 06/03/2020 17:33

Chilling with my DD, watching movies and eating snacks, in our pjs and under duvet. Our bliss.

balletpanda · 06/03/2020 17:37

I'm on night shifts until Monday morning so as long as nobody gets horribly unwell I'll be happy!

Mitsouko67 · 06/03/2020 17:38

DS1 is in a concert tomorrow in cathedral, looking forward to it.

Quiet weekend, DH away, I'm holding the fort.

Love the sound of dress up dinner invites and elegant lounge wear. Enjoy my dears!

user1498572889 · 06/03/2020 17:39

I am looking forward to myself and my daughters getting our hair done. Our hairdresser has been on maternity leave but is back this weekend. Great couple of hours with my daughters and we get to cuddle a new baby 😀

burntpinky · 06/03/2020 17:40

A Charlie brighams Thai red curry with mini pianda breads and catching up with master chef and outsider tonight.

Hopefully taking DC to park and zoflor-ing the shit out the floors tomorrow (sad I know but it makes the house feel and smell so clean!)

Oh and I washed our bedding today so lovely clean sheets tonight and will do DC’s tomorrow

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 06/03/2020 17:41

I'm going out to buy my spring gardening essentials - compost, seeds, potatoes, pots, sweet peas - and maybe some garden lights for the summer.

MortyFide · 06/03/2020 17:42

We've brought the camper down to the south coast and have already walked 10k this afternoon. Two weeks ago we walked less than 4k at a national trust site and I was in agony, breathing out my arse and pouring with sweat, within 10 minutes. DH was horrified.

I'd become even more overweight and unfit than usual after the death of my dog in November and an operation on my foot in January. I've pulled myself together, made an effort to cut sugar and carbs in the last 2 weeks, lost half a stone and done a step aerobic workout at home 4 times in the last 10 days (increased my time yesterday).

I can't tell you how relieved I am that such a small change in such a small amount of time has made such a huge difference. And DH looks happy too.

New puppy arrives in a week. Smile

kittlesticks · 06/03/2020 17:44

@burntpinky bloody love the outsider but am finding it terrifying!
We are going to a kids birthday party tomorrow and tonight having a nice meal and hoping the kids sleep.
