How many washes do you do per week?

There's 2 adults & 1 toddler here and we do at least 1 wash a day, sometimes more. Before DS arrived I did around 2/3 a week. It's gone crazy.

How many washes do you do a week or a day??

4 DC including one in reusable nappies, I wash every other day. If I don’t do the washing for three or four days I have to spend ages catching up.

uncreativeusername · 05/03/2020 13:17

5 of us in this house, two primary age boys and a newborn DD.

We do at least one load of clothes washing a day then each week I will do 4 beds, 5 towels, 1 for a massive blanket we have in the lounge, 1 load of swimming stuff and towels and 2 washes of the dogs bed and blanket. Sometimes more if needed.

Babytigerrr · 05/03/2020 13:18

2 adults and 1 3yo. I'd say around 3 a week on an average week.

TeddyIsaHe · 05/03/2020 13:19

1 adult 1 toddler. Dd goes to forest nursery so is constantly filthy. I do 1 white/lights and 1 darks of hers and 1 white/lights and 1 darks of mine. And the bedding/towels, so 6 a week.

Although I have a tendency to ignore it all until Sunday and then spend the entire bloody day doing laundry. I won’t learn though!

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/03/2020 13:22

Family of 4. Daily! Rotate darks, colours, whites

H1978 · 05/03/2020 14:14

Family of 5, dcs aged 18, 15 and 9. I wash everyday except Thursday but have three loads on Friday and two on Wednesday

Ohdeariedear · 05/03/2020 14:17

One a day, plus an extra if it’s a good drying day and I do all the sheets towels etc. 2 adults 2 dcs

FraterculaArctica · 05/03/2020 14:17

3 DC under 6 including 1 in reusable nappies full time and one in night nappies. If I managed to do 2 loads a day I'd keep abreast of it. As it is...

Dustarr73 · 05/03/2020 14:24

2 adults here and 3 kids.My machine and drier are on constantly.I must do 2 or 3 loads a day. Some days it feels never ending.

ellanwood · 05/03/2020 14:25

An average of two a day. Two adults and two large teens here. 2 x Dark wash, 2x pale wash, 2 x white wash, 2 x bedding washes as they don't all fit in one go. 2 x towel washes, sports wash, woollens or delicates, tea towels and kitchen cloths. It's never ending. I've just stared at a pile of heavy, damp towels and thought, meh, later. Feels like I spend my life washing towels.

merryhouse · 05/03/2020 14:26

I normally put a wash on every day.

Two adults, one teenager (and a few weeks of a 20yo).

Husband and I are slobs who wear jeans for a week or so at a time - though I do change my tshirt every day, mainly because I go to the gym in it. Teenager has just about been persuaded that trousers will last two days if his orange doesn't squirt onto them.

We all go to the gym and two of us have karate wear to wash.

Towels get washed roughly every week, bedding less often.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 05/03/2020 15:03

1 that's 40ish and 1 that's 7ish
1 load a week. Occasional "special"
wash that could be bedding or cat blanket or towels.

iusedtohavechickens · 05/03/2020 19:24

6 of us, 2 adults and 4 children ages 11 months -17. I have the wasshing machine on 2-3 times a day x

BigMamaFratelli · 05/03/2020 19:27

Between 7-10 depending on if we have guests. There's 6 of us - 2 adults 4 kids, 1 of which is a toddler

lettersbyowl · 05/03/2020 19:32

2 adults, one dog! We do 2 or 3 dark washes (walking the dog at the moment gets you filthy due to the mud, and we both gym regularly so that adds to it). One whites (includes our bedsheets), one towels (includes tea towels etc), and one lights per week too. So pretty much one wash per day Confused and we have a baby on the way so I'm dreading how much more there will be! We don't have a massive capacity washing machine though.

WineIsMyCarb · 05/03/2020 19:35

5 or so.
Two adults and two preschoolers.
Daily colours / light mixed / whites load.
One sheets and towels per week (alternate whose)
Probably one more mixed colours or additional sheets/ towels/lounge blankets.

My work blouses (handwash), swimming stuff, bras, etc all go in the bath with the DC!

WineIsMyCarb · 05/03/2020 19:36

To clarify: all towels washed weekly, bedding fortnightly on alternate

basicwitches · 05/03/2020 19:37

Atleast one a day- 2 adults 1 baby and a 4 year old!

InDubiousBattle · 05/03/2020 19:39

2 adults and 2 dc (4 and 6)I do 8-10 loads a week.

DramaAlpaca · 05/03/2020 19:39

It's about three or four loads a week now our two eldest DC have left home. Youngest DS who still lives at home does one or two loads a week.

JMAngel1 · 05/03/2020 19:49

It's neverending isn't it - at least 14 loads a week here. I loathe putting it all away!

anothermansmother · 05/03/2020 19:54

About 21 washes a week. At least 3 loads a day, there are three of us...and big hairy dog.

Booberella9 · 05/03/2020 19:57

2 preschool DC and 2 adults. Sleeping separately so 3 bedsets. Whites have to be separate. Everything else fends for itself..

3 loads a day if I can. Hate having a backlog.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/03/2020 19:58

Usually 4 washes a week.

It's me and one DS at home. Weekly I do colours and towels. Fortnightly I do bedding.

Fortnightly I also do either a whites or darks wash as we don't have many of those colour items.

Lucylivesinamushroomhouse · 05/03/2020 20:05

2 adults, 3 kids aged 4, 2 and 4 months. Baby is in reusable nappies full time. It varies but washing machine is probably about 5 or 6 times a week. Definitely not every day.
