There's 2 adults & 1 toddler here and we do at least 1 wash a day, sometimes more. Before DS arrived I did around 2/3 a week. It's gone crazy.

How many washes do you do a week or a day??

Wow! I am amazed at this. I thought i seemed to do a lot and we average 5 a week, possibly 6. 1 x mixed of the DC 1 mixed mine and DH. 1 x DH work 1 xwhite wash 1x towels/bedding. I do have a large washer and do bedding fortnightly. I also have an express was which i do throws/pet bedding in. Not sure I've ever done more than 8 washes in a week though!

I do one white and one colours

Partner does one white and one colours

One set bedding

One dog stuff, tea towels, throws / bathroom towels

So 6 or 7?

Family of five. I’d say we average around 20 a week roughly.

Sounds like a lot but clothes get bigger as they get older so you can fit as much in a machine and the same for bedding. My own bedding has to be washed in two loads as it’s so big 😂 duvet cover takes up a full load and then sheet and pillow cases in another. Three kids beds is another three washes. Then towels about two to three loads a week on them. Then just regular clothes, work clothes, swim stuff, and there always something else that needs washed like a jacket or two, blankets, etc.

Me and the kids usually wear our clothes two days before washing (assuming they aren’t dirty or smelly). Dh has a manual job so needs fresh clothes every day, his things are quite bulky and thick so only two days of trousers, top and jumper take up a full load.

*can’t fit as much in

gospelsinger · 05/03/2020 20:33

I do about 5 washes per week. 5 people in house.

lachy · 05/03/2020 20:35

We have a wash load in every day.

I can't wait for the spring so I can dry stuff outside again!

AnotherMurkyDay · 05/03/2020 20:36

One a day but it's not really enough.

BentNeckLady · 05/03/2020 20:39

Maybe 4/5 a week. There’s 4 of us but no small children and I don’t obsessively wash towels or bedding

M0nstermunch · 05/03/2020 20:39

Family of 4 and 11 washes a week

Deadringer · 05/03/2020 20:41

A tween, a teen and 4 adults here, and I do about 5 washes a week.

Babyg1995 · 05/03/2020 20:43

2 adults ,2 kids 1 load a day but more if it's bedding and towel days it will no doubt double when DD is born .

Redda · 05/03/2020 20:48

2 washes a week maximum, just one adult and one teen - recently moved and have a smart meter, I was really shocked how much electricity is used when washing!

Oblomov20 · 05/03/2020 20:54

5 a week. One wed, one Friday. Then school clothes. Then football kit. Then bedding.

Amrythings · 05/03/2020 20:57

Two adults, a teenager and a baby - at least one wash a day if I can at the minute, and there or four on the weekend. It all got out of hand the week I went back to work, and we're still catching up.

Ideally it'll be one load a day in the week and two on the weekend - three a week for the baby, two for me and husband, two for teenager, plus towels and bedding as needed.

Juanbablo · 05/03/2020 20:58

3 dcs, dh and me. 1 cat and 1 dog. I do at least 2 washes a day.

Barbararara · 05/03/2020 21:07

2 adults, 2 dc: 1 white (with towels), 1 dark, 1 colour, 1 delicates, 1 tea towels and cloths, 2 uniforms, sheets every other week.

Titsywoo · 05/03/2020 21:09

2 adults, 2 teens and an incontinent dog - twice a day on average

chocodrops · 05/03/2020 21:30

3 of us, 2 adults and one older baby in reusable nappies. I do a wash every 2-3 days for nappies, a hot pre wash then all DDs clothes go in the main nappy wash. Then a blitz through 3-4 loads on a Friday when I'm off work and probably another one or two over the weekend 💁🏻‍♀️

Barely enough for one.
Childfree, two adults.
