The sun is (finally) out, the birds are singing - yes it's still cold but it really does feel like spring is round the corner!

I know it's just another day in the calendar, but it feels so good to have what was a bloody miserable February behind us. Spring/summer here we come!

Anyone else?

100%! Absolutely loathe winter.... pulling back the curtains to sunshine this morning has made me look like this Grin

TitusP · 01/03/2020 08:49

Yes me! I am laying in bed looking at the blue sky watching a magpie build a nest in the tree in my garden and just feel lifted.

TreesSandSea · 01/03/2020 08:51

Thank heavens we’re on the way to spring and summer

BorneoBabe · 01/03/2020 08:51

Absolutely. Spring and Autumn are my happiest times of the year.

Moonlite · 01/03/2020 08:51

I agree! The brighter mornings and longer evenings make me feel instantly happier! I'm having a spring clean today

Sarcelle · 01/03/2020 08:52

Yep, I am going on a day trip to Brighton to visit my favourite gelato.

bellinisurge · 01/03/2020 08:53

Very excited to start planting veg seems this year. Last year was a washout for all sorts of reasons. Year before was great.

MsTSwift · 01/03/2020 08:55

February is the most hideous month of the year. Can only improve

Lordfrontpaw · 01/03/2020 08:55

Slightly hungover... not the best.

mynameiscalypso · 01/03/2020 08:56

Totally! Despite being mildly hangover and DS waking at 5am, I am filled with enthusiasm for the new month. Going to go for a swim, have a bit of a spring clean and enjoy the sunshine.

Crimson72 · 01/03/2020 08:59

And this one has been particularly awful!

I'm looking forward to a spring clean too. I might start by getting the window cleaner round - the windows are filthy after winter (and I'm too lazy to do it myself Blush)

Yes!! Mostly because it's my birthday Grin

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 01/03/2020 09:21

Yes. The hinge of the year is opening. There have been lambs outside Northallerton for a month, but now they'll have company.

CrocodileFondue · 01/03/2020 09:55

Normally yes but this year I've put on so much weight I'm dreading the warm weather Blush

hellswelshy · 01/03/2020 10:04

Yes to this! Plus it's St David's day!! Grin

megletthesecond · 01/03/2020 10:07

Happy Birthday bez!

As it's March I'm going to celebrate with a trip to the tip. Along with half the town I expect.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/03/2020 10:37

Totally agree. In 2 weeks I’ll be driving home from work in daylight.
Our tree is weeks from it’s blooming peak.
Easter is 5 weeks away (ish).
I’ve turned the heating timer off in the mornings (disclaimer: our house is really warm).
Plus the new tax year starts in just over a month and we’ll be very, very busy at work which energises me no end.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 01/03/2020 11:49

Yes! Before children I loved he winter but now I feel so stuck by it

MinnieMountain · 01/03/2020 11:56

I'm making Welsh cakes with DS hellswelshy.

It's sunny outside for a change. Today definitely feels more positive.

TSSDNCOP · 01/03/2020 12:00

@Bezalelle happy birthday to you!

I went out in the sunshine and exercised already.

I love Spring!

aprilfools19 · 01/03/2020 12:01

This is honestly one of the biggest reasons why I decided to move to Australia. It sounds extreme- but British winters made me absolutely miserable for 8 months of the year for 29 years. I don’t mind the cold but it’s the constant grey skies, rain, drizzle, damp. I couldn’t stand it. I live in Melbourne now so we definitely still have a winter (which I like! I wouldn’t want to be somewhere hot 365 days a year) but my whole mood has improved since moving here 5 years ago. I wish I wasn’t someone who let the weather control their emotions but I just hated it. Worst for me was how you’d be all bundled up because it’s so cold outside but then step indoors and you get thet “cold but hot” sweat thing going on because the heating would be so high

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 01/03/2020 12:10

Gosh yes, waking up to sunshine this morning was lovely! And the tulips are springing through the soil now so won’t be long until they bloom and the mini daffodils are out now.

TSSDNCOP · 01/03/2020 12:12

April Australia would need to solemnly promise to sort out the spiders before I could move there. Otherwise it sounds wonderful.

astrosurfer · 01/03/2020 12:16

Yes, February was a horrible month so glad it's gone
My teenager was chatting to a friend last night and said we nearly hard ww3 in January and corona virus in February, I hope she thinks that March is better

aprilfools19 · 01/03/2020 12:17

TSSDNCOP haha! Luckily I’ve not encountered too many living in the city but yes certainly an issue the more remote you go. There’s definitely a lot I miss about the UK, but as a teacher I’m able to come home a couple of times a year for 2/3 weeks at a time. Enough for me to really appreciate all the great things about home and do all the things, see all the places that I miss seeing. But I’m also always ready to come back to Australia. I spent Christmas back in the UK and absolutely loved the 3 weeks I had of English winter and soaked up all the great sterotypically wintery cosy things but was ready to come back by the end.
