The sun is (finally) out, the birds are singing - yes it's still cold but it really does feel like spring is round the corner!

I know it's just another day in the calendar, but it feels so good to have what was a bloody miserable February behind us. Spring/summer here we come!

Anyone else?

I can't even quantify how much I love the start of the summer every year. This year is no exception.

@Bezalelle Happy Birthday! Flowers

No matter how the weather is in March, most of winter is done. Smile

You are not alone OP.

Just need the clocks to change now & I'll be much happier.

I feel like winter has been a bit "meh" actually. Didn't seem long at all and no snow days!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 01/03/2020 14:28

Yes! And I managed to get 2 loads of washing dry on the line today - heaven!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 01/03/2020 14:55

Yes! I hate January and February. I'm just so much happier in spring and summer. The lighter evenings are making me so happy! Can't wait for the clocks to change.

Yes! There are hares bouncing around in the field opposite my house, and the daffodils and narcissi that we planted last autumn are bobbing prettily in the wind and sunshine, as opposed to looking like they’re about to take off in a howling gale.

Plus, DS has antibiotics, slept until 6am this morning (best night we’ve had in 6 weeks or so) and is so much happier today than yesterday, which is not strictly spring-related but boy oh boy, does it ever make a difference to my mood...! And we’ve made it through the winter on a tank of oil and should be able to hold out until May or so before we need to top up. Huzzah!

Many Happy Returns @Bezalelle, hope you’ve had a lovely day. It’s mine next weekend so I always love March, but today couldn’t come quickly enough for me, Feb has been so miserable.

Today was the first weekend day in about 4 weekends that we have had no rain - it has been sunny, if a bit windy and chilly. We managed to get out for a decent walk - add in my upcoming birthday, some other March plans, the feeling that Spring and Easter are just around the corner and that we chatted about summer holiday plans whilst on the walk, all contributed to a much needed uplift in mood.

I have always, always been a winter lover - my dream holiday is the Arctic Circle! - but the relentless storms have absolutely done it for me this year and I find I cannot wait for spring. It’s been miserable - no proper snow just these terrible winds and rain and endless grey dreary bleakness everywhere. I’m craving the sunshine!
