Help me stay awake?

It feels wrong starting a thread with this title - I've spent most of the past 12 months wanting to stay asleep! I have tonsillitis, and I'm waiting for a call from out of hours. Unfortunately, they already rang at 11.30, but I had nodded off and my phone was on dnd. I've had to go through the whole 111 - referral to ooh - triage by nurse - wait for an appointment cycle again (my fault for falling asleep). If I fall asleep again I'll never get my antibiotics! Anyone there that is happy to chat to keep me awake? I have many daft things to say, just need someone to bounce off.

Always happy to hear daft things, particularly at 4am 🙄

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:08

I did have a very daft moment last week in the supermarket. I've got used to discussing everything with the baby as I go round, so was blithely waffling on about all the different types of pasta, got a strange look from another shopper and realised I hadn't got the baby... I must have looked like a right weirdo!

Everyone could do with hearing daft things at 4am, it's a horrible time to be up.

Hi op

How old is your baby?

Im up for second time tonight feeding almost 6 month old

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:21

Baby is nearly one - birthday on Wednesday! Although we celebrated today as midweek is awkward. I have some awesome cake pictures!

Aww wow

Boy or girl?

Walking or talking yet?

PlasticReplacementUterus · 01/03/2020 04:23

It's my girl's first birthday today!
Not related but she's my last we think so feeling a bit happy and sad.

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:23

6 months - I remember when mine was that age and she stayed where she was put! She's crawling now and gets everywhere.

There’s probably a spider under your bed.

A big one. HUGE! And hairy. A right scuttley fucker who will take great delight in clambering all over you as soon as you go to sleep. He’ll be there all night. The bastard.

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 01/03/2020 04:25

Well we are a week shy of six months and already crawling Shock

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 01/03/2020 04:26

I’m up feeding 3 month old. Yesterday i was a whirl of efficiency - put dishwasher on, set breadmaker, tidied kitchen. Only it later transpired that i was so sleep deprived that the dishwasher was loaded but never run, the breadmaker had no water so just made very hot flour, and the “tidy” kitchen included a random clean saucepan in the fridge and my keys in a cupboard. Gah!
Good luck staying awake for your apt - tonsillitis is the worst.

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:26

Not walking independently but lots of furniture cruising and walking around the house holding my hands. Alexa is coming in very useful :
Walk out of living room - "alexa, pause TV"
Walk back in - "alexa, play TV"
Probably not what amazon had in mind!
Lots of focused babbling but no real words (cat is ga, I am mumumumum and husband is dadadadad)

OP posts:
Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:28

@DropYourSword well that's put me right off going back into the bedroom! 😂 Husband can deal with that!

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 01/03/2020 04:28

Is she your first op? She sounds lovely

Kez200 · 01/03/2020 04:29

Helloooooo.

Wakey wakey

Kez200 · 01/03/2020 04:30

Pinch punch first day of the month and no returns

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:30

@THATscurryfundBITCH crawling already! What a little star! Boy or girl? My daughter took ages to crawl, was quite happy being sat on her gorgeous chubby bottom.

OP posts:
THATscurryfungeBITCH · 01/03/2020 04:31

Boy

He cant sit up though. Hes like a weeble!

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:34

@RubaiyatOfAnyone that sounds like my kind of day! My best comparison to that is setting off the washing machine, feeling immensely proud of myself and then coming back an hour later to see the basket of dirty clothes still next to the empty washing machine that was just finishing its cycle!

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:37

@PlasticReplacementUterus mine is my first child but I can imagine that knowing the baby stage is behind you is both wonderful and upsetting. Although saying that, husband keeps making references to "this is harder than I thought, maybe having another one isn't such a good idea..." 😂

OP posts:
Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:38

@Kez200 dammit, does that mean I can't do it to anyone else or just not to you?

OP posts:
Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:40

Do they still make weebles? I mentioned them to a teenager the other day and got a very blank stare... 😂

OP posts:
THATscurryfungeBITCH · 01/03/2020 04:40

Urgh. We appear to be playing "No, i will not go back in the cot" Hmm

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 01/03/2020 04:42

Oh yes they do they also make paw patrol and peppa pig (aka bacon face) weebles!

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 04:42

That's such a fun game! Almost as fun as "I've had enough milk. But now I'm in the cot I want more. But I've had enough milk, I told you already!"
