What size would you guess I am?

Today I've seen a photo of me and I feel I look much bigger than I thought I was. Dh thinks I look fine. I'm wondering if my brain is just completely unable to identify what is normal anymore.

What dress size (UK) would you think I am and where on the bmi - healthy - overweight or obese?

I would guess 14-16.

MrsStrangerThing · 29/02/2020 18:33

OP you definitely don't like a size 10 in that photo, I guessed 14-16. But the picture is incredibly unflattering I guess, and your clothes look too tight which doesn't help. I am sure you look completely different in person, especially when wearing better fitting clothes!

Howmanysleepsnow · 29/02/2020 18:34
  1. Overweight BMI
Sexnotgender · 29/02/2020 18:35

If you’re a size 10 that’s a dreadfully unfortunate photo!

From that picture I’d have said size 14 and overweight.

GymSloth · 29/02/2020 18:35

I'm shocked by these responses!

I totally thought you were a healthy weight and a size 10.

It's not a flattering angle, and the stripes probably don't help, but you clearly have a flat stomach and slim legs.

LeavingTheTable · 29/02/2020 18:37

Size 16. You probably have a fairly healthy body type (pear/hourglass) but because it doesn't add much fat to your stomach till you hit higher weights, it's really easy to deceive yourself that you are a bit slimmer than you are. Pears can wear size 10 and 12 tops and dresses for ages, until they suddenly can't. People will continue to tell you you have a lovely figure just because you have a discernible waist. Don't listen to them. It's comforting nonsense, and it's a bitch to lose weight from the arms and legs later with your (and my) body type.

SwedishEdith · 29/02/2020 18:39

Ah, no, I never use the app.

alwayslearning789 · 29/02/2020 18:42

@m0therofdragons..... just popped in to say you have a lovely figure and are absolutely rocking those jeans.

CassidyStone · 29/02/2020 18:43

I've just looked at the second photo on the app - lovely dress and you have a tiny waist! Lovely curvy figure, I still don't understand why you need to ask anonymous people to comment on your bodyshape?

lilgreen · 29/02/2020 18:46

No photo still op.Weird that the first one showed up!

lilgreen · 29/02/2020 18:46

Didn’t even know there was an app!

Thisismytimetoshine · 29/02/2020 18:46

Isn’t it! Maybe op is so teeny tiny that she’s all but invisible?

thickwoollytights · 29/02/2020 18:52

Oh yes! As I thought. Not a 16. That camera angle on the first photo was rubbish!!

Id say you're a size 14. You are really very lovely indeed

I'm a bit confused as to why you need to open yourself up in this way...,, to potential abuse.

You're lovely. My advice would be, (for what it's worthConfusedSmile) start to believe in yourself.

Learn to like you no matter what size you are and learn to accept yourself without outside approval

BedraggledBlitz · 29/02/2020 18:53

Some people are seriously shitty. Or completely warped in their perception of healthy. You look great. The dress photo shows how great. The jeans photo isn't that flattering but not terrible.

lilgreen · 29/02/2020 18:55

Right I've got the app now. The second photo I'd say is a size 12 with a small waist. You have a lovely figure and it just shows how wearing unflattering shapes can make such a difference.

Lulalulabelle · 29/02/2020 18:55

I’d have guessed 10-12. I’m a 14 and you look a lot slimmer than me! I don’t think the pic makes you look big at all

BlueHarry · 29/02/2020 18:56

I guessed 12-14. Confused by people saying 16+, I don't know if they're just being mean or genuinely think that. I don't see it at all. I think you have a lovely figure.

Sharkyfan · 29/02/2020 18:59

First photo from OP
I think clothes are size 12 but slightly tight.

Dozer · 29/02/2020 19:01

16 and overweight BMI, eg 26

Doodlesquah1 · 29/02/2020 19:02

14

RainbowFlowers · 29/02/2020 19:02

You have a beautiful figure!

Dozer · 29/02/2020 19:03

So you’ve said you’re 5’5”, middle of healthy BMI range and a 10/12.

Then that is just an unflattering pic!

Thenextstorm · 29/02/2020 19:05

17:14LexCake

If you were same height as me (5 foot 7) I’d say 18/20. Height plays a huge part.

Cannot believe the above comment! Shock

Can't see photo no 2 but from the first one I'd have def said 12-14, closer to 12.

RogueV · 29/02/2020 19:05

14-16

PanicAndRun · 29/02/2020 19:07

I've read the thread so know your size, but as soon as I saw your first picture I thought 12, 14 at push to allow for various heights/bloating/bulky clothes.

The dress pic still looks like a 12 to me with a possibility of 10.

So in my eyes you average as a 12 and can go either way. Some clothes will fit you better than others ,so it's about what and how you feel comfortable and happy with, clothes and weight.

The issue with MN is that a lot of people have lost sight of what a normal body is, both ways( same size will be judged as too skinny or too fat simultaneously )and there's a massive increase in competitive under eating. Some people are just dicks.
