I just finished his tour of Scotland thing....I hate myself for finding him attractive but I do, I always have.

I need a Scottish, overweight ginger curmudgeon in my life asap.

His tour of Scotland thing is wonderful imo. yes it really is. Oh well the others will just have to miss out I watched a bit of it. Basically Scotland is a shit hole is his thing. But he's not funny. Billy Connolly did it all so much better. As for him and Elaine C Smith doing a benefit for Gaza. What a pair of pretentious wankers.
His Katie Price joke was unforgivable. He's a puncher downer.

To the pp who said he's quite clever, he's very clever, but he still disgusts me. Have I laughed at any of his comedy, yep- lots of times, but to say he crosses a line is a huge understatement.

I can’t believe those comments about the female athletes. How is he still working at the BBC ? That’s a rhetorical question as I already know the BBC is not fit for purpose when it comes to these matters.

Was there any response from the athletes? At least one comment sounds borderline illegal.

Nah, for FB to be here he'd have to respect the fact that women have opinions and that all women wouldn't actually like to be raped by him.

Hes made some awful jokes, but then again, probably so have I in the past. Im.not that interested in purity politics. Hes gone from being a comedian that makes shock jokes to being an excellent writer and presenter and while I dont always agree with him, I often do

Look I don’t agree with cancel culture. But the point is he was way out of line and has not apologised afaik. In fact he has been doubling down with his blocking of women on sm.

Any woman talking like this would be a social pariah and there would be talk about her mental health. They would not be given a nice documentary series to front.

I’m not really sure what the OP wants from this thread. For us all to agree that he’s great and it’s all just a big laugh?

How is it an irrelevant argument. Stand up comedy, films and rap music are forms of artistic expression. Rap music can highly racist and misogynistic, but it's the art form of an oppressed culture, or is that ok?

It's totally relevant. Man used words to illicit reaction from audiences. Some people are offended, but the offence is a reaction to the art.

I personally cringe and feel uncomfortable with some of his jokes, but overall I like him more than I'm offended by him. People are complex and have complex reactions to art. I loved his Scotland program. I thought it was funny, insightful and enlightening.

He has crossed a line for me more than once. I say this as a fan of near the knuckle comedy. It won't stop me watching his tour of Scotland show though. I think like it or not, his type of controversial comedy has had it's day.
